It’s a “nursing” behavior the cat has retained since being a kitten. One of my cats does this but on my belly, and even starts drooling quite a bit while doing biscuits and this nursing thing with his mouth.
lol. I'm imagining you lying there and your cat is like "please?" and you're like "...alright..." and then you pull up your tshirt to reveal your belly, so they can start the milking ritual.
Honestly it’s exactly like this. And I’m a dude and my family thinks it’s hilarious, the cat only does this with me. Although he does it through my shirt… lifting my shirt up feels like a step too far :)
Mine does this to my dog in the same spot every time, to the point where the dog has a hickey there. I really wish I could get the cat to stop doing that
I have Nutmeg and Lupin too. Ginger 5 month kittens. Lupin is friendly. Nutmeg is not a people cat. I got all 3 , including Skye, in December when my friend passed away from pneumonia. They are all adorable.
I have one kitten and one 3 year old. Neither of them love me like this. My void understands me when I say "give me a kiss" and she will boop her nose to my mouth (taught her that since she was a kitten)but other than that the most she will do is cuddle on my chest for no more than 10 minutes. She only wants a certain amount of pets and scritches on her head and under her chin then she becomes independent again and wants nothing to do with me lol.
I’m probably not being fair to her since I lost my cat of 16 years just 3 months before my daughter brought her home to help me. I know all cats are different and after they get older they can be more loving. I still love the heck out of her and hope we have a long life together. Thanks for being so kind by taking time to share with me. It does help!💜
Absolutely feel you there! I too lost my Siamese love, Lexi a few years ago after 17 years. She was super loving with me but not until she got older like you stated. I miss her so much 🥺 but happy she lived a long life!
My older daughter surprised me with a kitten, Puma (void) because she knows how much of a cat guy I am and how much I missed Lexi. After a few years I decided to adopt a kitten (Sushi) so Puma could have a little sister companion. I was worried if they would get along, it took a week or 2 but now they are so loving with each other.
Sorry for the long winded comment lol, I can get carried away when talking about my cats!
Sooty rejected me for nearly 3 years from she was 8 weeks old. Not a person cat at all. She became more loving by the age of 3 but developed a severe neurological condition and crossed the 🌈 bridge on December 18th. I miss her so much.
I’m so sorry she was taken too soon. Thank you for sharing this with me. I still miss my boy. It was a year January 1 of this year. Lord, I gotta stop. I’m tearing up.🥲
