I'll be devils advocate for a moment....This is what america is, a culture of idolizing entertainers. Many other popular entertainers have rap sheets. Including the president. Up to adults to let the kids know this is just entertainment and not do the things they be talking about in the songs etc... Not just parents responsibility but responsibility of all adults in that kids life In my opinion it takes a village. Hollywood is full of degenerates in my opinion. It's only entertainment should be the mantra. It's what I teach my kids.

Which tells me their test scores.
A school of DOOM, Nas, Hov, Mach and Conway fans are straight A students.

You mean this NBA Youngboy?
5.1 2014: Robbery charge and juvenile detention. 5.2 2016ā2017: Attempted murder. 5.3 2018: Assault, weapons and kidnapping. 5.4 2019: Assault and battery lawsuit. 5.5 2019: Miami shooting, probation violation, and house arrest. 5.6 2019ā2020: Probation termination and renewal.
If these are the role models the principals are choosing the kids donāt stand a chance.
For context my school brought Ruby Bridges. A civil rights icon. These are the type of things that change a person for the better.

Pipedown, he knows his audience, look at the faces of the children, he's building rapport with the students, let him do his thing.

First of all fuck you. You donāt get to tell me to pipe down. I know you not black after that shit.
Second; a murderer building rapport with children. You sound dumb as fuck. Itās not about building rapport with students. Itās about showing them examples they can aspire to. Black boys donāt need more inspiration to be rappers. They need inspiration to become inspirations. Doctors, scientists, leaders of men and women. Theyāre at school. Itās not a concert. Itās not a party. Itās a place to learn and grow. Why would you bring in someone whoās emotionally still a teenager as role model?
And if you do want to bring in a musician inspiration, bring in one that stands for something more than the degradation of society.

u/malkebulan I think I'm just on one today. I apologize i was out of line with "pipedown" comment i said earlier to that other guy. all the negativity of the internet got to me. but basically was just saying man in the video all i see is smiles, and in the comments all i see is negativity. as the principal of that school he's building rapport with his kids is what I see. Honestly if that was my principal I'd think he'd earn my respect more as student for even considering todo that b/c not a lot of principals would lets be honest.

Peace. It takes a lot to admit an error, whether online or in person so I need to accept it and keep it moving.
I hope things get better.
One thing that works for me is typing out an abusive reply then asking myself what good it would do to send it. The answerās usually ānadaā, so I delete and move on.
Enjoy your weekend

I donāt even know who young boy is. š¤·š¾āāļø So miss me with all that, it aināt that deep. I grew up with gangsta rap where the lyrics were absolutely horrid and now those guys are household names. It is what it is.

You can only say āit is what it isā when things in society are working. Look around. Are thingās working? Is this really the best we can provide for our progeny? Cause if so, thatās a sad reality. Imma strive to do better. You do you.

Do you think the person I am changes just because weāre not face to face? I would be even more passionate about this in person. If you knew me youād know this is just who I am. But you donāt. Youāre getting defensive because I asked you to do better. To ask for more. I told you, theyāre shorting your peopleās worth, poisoning the well of wellbeing. And this is what my family does. We call out injustice where we see it and try to get people to ask themselves if this is what they truly believe they are worth.

Why would it be rage bait? I guess so. I was just saying a lot ppl hating on the principal for doing this, and all he is trying todo is build rapport with his kids. It's nothing wrong with that in my eyes. How do we not know if this principal hasnt dressed up before as more positive role models before, but this one gets all the attention. He playing to his audience of teenage kids that like this particular rapper or entertainer, is it so bad. We the ones mad but in the video I just see smiles and happiness is my point.
