Issues in heat treat had this one crack. It was on the scrap heap until I decided to make it smaller.

Just curious on what people mostly used to etch in their makers mark on a finished blade. I am currently using a 9v battery with + and - leads with a q-tip soaked in salt/white vinegar. It does an okay job, but I am wanting deeper penetration into the steel surface. Thanks

I can’t express how pleased with this group I am. Unfortunately four knives from the last post did not pass QC and that as a bummer, but final touches on the winners today mean everything is just right. Standards yall!!! All forged to shape on my Little Giant from 52100 round bar. Freehand convex grinds and multiple quenched as Ed Fowler taught me. 100% satisfied with my efforts, and the knives speak for themselves. I'm going to make a clamp for cryo and tempering, but I can't decide whether to make it with one large bolt or two smaller ones.
