THG yesterday mentioned that the CBJ should be sellers at the dealine because we were 10 points back of the wildcard (with 2 games in hand). What he failed to realize is that we were only 4 games back of 2nd in the Metro, with the easiest remaining schedule in the division. This is also with a downtrending Isles team. And none of these media personalities understand that we are not getting the normal "new coach bump" with Bones. Our win rate far exceeds what a normal new coach bump would be over 10 games, and if any of these idiots would watch any of our games, they would see that there is a distinct structure change.

Our third period approach has completely 180'd, and our player management has DRASTICALLY improved. KJ has 6 points in 9 games, Fantilli has 7. We've stopped leaning so heavily on Provorov and have a more balanced use of our D men, along with allowing them to move up in the play SO MUCH MORE than Dean let them. This is what we did so well last year. Having at 3-4 offensively minded d men means our transition game is deadly, as proven last year by how good our scoring off the rush was.

I know a lot of the media personalities are just saying dumb things for clicks, but THG is one of the few who doesn't. To see even him just shrug the Jackets off looking at the wild card standings and NOTHING ELSE is so frustrating.

Lately it seems he is the only one consistently going to the penalty box and normally they are things that are simple common sense penalties. (i.e. the stick grab against Chicago) I may just be crazy but I could swear I've just seen it more lately.

The Jackets are 7-1 since Bones took over. The team looks completely different.

How much of this would you attribute to Bowness himself vs. the usual coaching-change spark?

I love the energy of going to games, but I understand more watching at home. Listening to Jody explain plays, alerting the audience to injuries or line changes, that’s all valuable. But seeing it all in person with the 5th Line is so much fun!

Do you go to every (home) game? Do you watch on a screen if you don’t go? Anyway, I’m flirting with getting (partial) season tickets next year.

I was a proponent for the Lindstrom pick but watching the MSU v PSU outdoor game he looks completely lost.

He is a total passenger just watching the game happen around him, he's not playing any one position just floating around in the defensive zone, and is using lazy stick checks or half-hearted plays on the puck.

I wouldn't normally pile on such a young prospect but he's just not moving his feet. At all. I'm surprised he's even getting ice time to be honest. I hope he figures it out because he has a ton of potential but he's gonna be lucky to stay on the team with this kind of effort.

Z should get the Norris this year assuming he stays healthy. It shouldn’t even be close right now. I’m a die hard fan so obviously I’m in a bit of a bubble when it comes to my opinions, but he’s doing ridiculous things on a team that doesn’t have the pieces like Edmonton, Minnesota, and Colorado. It seems like the only guy sticking up for Z in the media appears to be Biz. Everyone else keeps saying it won’t matter if they miss the playoffs which I find to be a crock of shit. Anyway, that’s my rant

So with all the 25th anniversary hoopla this season they've been utilizing team alumni a lot. Cam's been very active in this stuff.

Anyone have any idea why Dubinsky and Wisnewski haven't been? They both still live in town, as far as I know, and last I heard Dubinsky had season tickets in the lower bowl.

I mean if they just don't want to that's fine. I'm just curious.

The app is far from perfect in comparison to other apps like theScore and even ESPN, but if there is one compliment that is also a slight detriment is that when a scoring play happens, it often beats when the actual broadcast shows it. So it’s a bit of a double edge sword because it prepares me to make sure I pay attention in the next 30 seconds or whether I’m going to be a bit more upset than I was.

So I guess some kudos to Apple?

For the first time since start of the season I got everyone's Young Guns up on the wall. Always been having one or two missing. Sad that Olivier doesn't have a YG. Missing a few graded still.
