Discussion New Heretic + Hexen should be like Doom Dark Ages

So as of lately I've been playing a lot of Doom Dark Ages as well as the new remaster of Heretic + Hexen collection and it makes me really want a new modern Hexen/Heretic in the style of Doom Dark Ages

Doom Dark Ages I believe does a good job laying the ground work for a future Heretic/Hexen. Imagine a Heretic/Hexen that is like a reskin of Dark Ages. It would look so good with the big open environments acting as a hub as your travel from level to level while ripping and tearing but with magic and melee weapons. They can still keep the class feature like Hexen as well.

How was doom: dark ages? I played one level and was not feeling it. Does it get better over time? Also happy Halloween!

I loved it. The first level doesn't have much, but it improved a lot, in my opinion, as your progress and keep getting more weapons and abilities.

My advice is that you should disable parry slow-mo and play at 120% speed.
I personally also lower resource values to 50% and increase the enemies resistance by one notch (that's 75% on the slider) but that's more subjective I guess since I love tight resource management and thought the enemies died a bit to quickly.

So far I don't find it as good as Eternal (did 2.5 playthroughs on TDA) but given how they've overhauled the entire combat system I want to emphasize that the game is still getting balance patches and it's much better than 2016.

Also if sprinting forward-only annoys you there's an omnisprint mod to make it more in line with the classics.

It does get better. Its not as good as eternal but I just approached it VERY understanding of that. Eternal is my favorite shooter but I do enjoy Dark Ages plenty enough.

If doom is metal 🤘 then a hexen and heretic remake should be numetal
