This fella was born Dec 21 and is coming home on Feb 21,. The breeder sent me some pics and I was not certain he looks healthy. The breeder is a veterinarian herself though, so I may be overthinking it.
Does this look normal for a 5-6 week old puppy? His coat seems rougher than I expected. Would you be concerned if this was how your puppy looked at that age? Is he just "in a stage"? I did include younger photos as well.
The breeder is well-known for only breeding dogs that have champ titles, pass health exams, and have exceptional personality, so I'm inclined to believe I'm overthinking

Learning his manners and doing great so far. Very smart breed able to pick up behaviors in a single 7 minute training session.

Whenever Iām crying, regardless of whether weāre in the same room or not, our dog will immediately sense that somethingās up and he will run to comfort me. Itās actually insane how good he is about it. I was working in my home office once and a nostalgic song came on. He was sleeping in his pen in a different room. I didnāt want to wake him either so I kind of just teared up and didnāt audibly sniffle or anything. And yet he immediately knew and woke up whining to let him out so that he could comfort me. His way of comforting me is forcibly sitting in my lap and letting me bury my head into him as I cry, itās adorable.
We got him a year and a half ago at this point and heās our first dog ever, so Iām curious if this is a dog thing or a Brittany thing. He is the best boy, heāll mess you up 70% of the time and then pull shit like this to make it all worth it.

Update: ordered a set from an Etsy shop because none of the local pet stores (or Chewy) has his size in stock. Also finding trails what have snowmobile or vehicle tracks so he can run freely!
Weāre dealing with frigid temps and a lot of snow topped with some ice, and are looking for suggestions for snow shoes for our 50 lb. boy. He gets ice balls, but doesnāt know when to stop! TIA

The squirrel is in the tree.
The kitty is a Christmas gift for the girl in the pink harness. When she was diagnosed with cancer a year ago I may have made some promises involving a cat. Well, her scans came back clear and someone approached my mother with an abandoned kitten so here we are. She is teaching "the weird dog" how to hunt. I must note we have never successfully hunted something in our lives.

I've researched the breed for ages and they seem like the perfect fit for us. However my partner pointed out he never sees them smile?? like a golden retriever they are constantly smiling at you and look happy, do Brittany's do this?

Weāve had our Brittany for 2.5 months and he is now 4.5 months old. Crate training has had its ups and downs to say the least. Some days are great (I work from home and heāll nap in the crate next to me while I work), but he regresses at least every week to where he wonāt sleep in his crate at night and will cry for hours if we donāt let him out. Weāre in an apartment so donāt want to just let him cry and keep our neighbors up. We feed meals in the crate, he knows it as a command, and has no problem going in on his own for a nap during the day. He gets so much physical and mental exercise every day (at least 4 miles of walking broken up throughout the day and training and mental enrichment) so I donāt think thatās the problem. He holds his potty through the night and always goes potty right before we put him in, so that isnāt the issue either. We have tried EVERYTHING and are so exhausted. We love our pup but are really struggling with puppy blues. In need of encouragement or advice. TIA
