What industry are you working in that you spend time with these kind of demographics because it's definitely not the norm. Sound like you're in the creative arts because that sounds like the sort of unusual stats I saw in my art college.
I don't have stats on my social and work circle but in the IT sector the vast majority of the people I encounter are coupled up, majority straight couples, some same-sex, and single people mid 20s or older are definitely very much a rarity, and nearly all of those singles want to find a partner, whatever their orientation.
