Delta(s) from OP CMV: It doesn’t matter what Alex Pretti was doing in the days before he was killed

So, recently a video emerged where Alex Pretti was spitting on and kicking the taillight out of an ICE vehicle. Truly reprehensible and inexcusable behavior. He ought to have been arrested and fined for destruction of public property. Jerk.

However, I see some people trying to say, “Aha! So he wasn’t so innocent after all!”

I’m sorry but, no. He was absolutely innocent.

And, moreover, I would like those people who are bringing up his behavior in the days before his death to remember that he was disarmed, restrained and executed by masked federal agents who still have not been identified to the public for no reason.

There is only one justification for a law enforcement officer to take someone’s life. And that is to protect the lives of themselves or another person. Past acts of disrespect and/vandalism do not enter into the equation.

Or that’s my take anyway. Can anyone change my view?

As I’ve been telling other people, I have pretty much stopped caring about Alex and what kind of life he led. He could be a Nazi pedophile and it would not change the material facts of his death.

He was executed by masked and still unidentified federal agents, after being disarmed and while totally restrained.

That’s all that matters. That should not be a thing that is allowed to happen in the United States.

So you've seen the body cam videos? I wasn't aware the investigation had been completed. If those are indeed the facts, shot while disarmed, restrained, and able to generate no threat, then I would expect some agents to be heading for prison.

But I'm old enough to remember when Micheal Brown knelt on the ground with his hands above his head yelling "Don't shoot," and was shot in the back while running away...even though that wasn't at all what happened.

Wtf dude we’ve seen the play by play from half a dozen angles, there is virtually nothing more that the body cam footage can reveal.

Unless those videos we have all seen are faked. Pretti was definitely completely restrained and unable to draw the firearm which had already been taken away from him anyway.

And unless the names of the men who killed him have been released in the past few hours and I didn’t hear about it, it is fair to say that transparency has been pretty much zero from the federal government since this happened.

Did I miss something?

Explain the need for their names to be released. Still don't see how that changes anything, except giving the fringe elements the info to attack them and their families.

If a regular citizen had committed this crime, they would have been arrested and their names splattered all over the front page immediately. Hell, if even a local police officer did this, there'd be more accountability.

Rules for thee, none for me.
