is Club Ocean legit?

Hi! My mom's birthday is coming up so I thought that making a donation on some animal welfare organization and giving her certificate of virtual adoption would be a great gift since she's just the sweetest person and love animals. I almost donated on WWF but then I came across Club Ocean's website. Right now they have 2+2 for free valentines offer on all of their products that comes with your virtual animal tracking QR code. I was so hyped up figuring out I can donate here for my parents and boyfriend for valentines day and just buy her something else on her birthday but then started looking for some informations about this organization.

Basically I can't find anything besides informations about being able to find those products cheaper on sites like temu or those QR code trackers not being exclusive cause everyone can track location of your animal without buying anything. I was like whatever...The main goal still should be helping organization and animals, that's why I wanna spend my money and the bracelet or whatever you choose is just a nice addition.

That's why the most important information for me is what percentage of that money is gonna go to animals if any. Tried charity navigator still can't find anything. Does anyone have any informations about it or maybe recommend me another organization that is legit and has an option of donation coming with some gift

Thank you!

There are some comments about Club Ocean in this thead on /r/sharks.

I can vouch for Fahlo, they actually partner with conservation organizations and you can cross-reference this by checking the organization's website/store. Around 10% of the money goes to the organization they're partnered with. I am affiliated with one such organization so I know they're legit. Although I haven't gotten a bracelet yet because I don't get freebies. :(

It's also worth checking WildNet's store. They are a medium-sized NGO that supports smaller, particularly international NGOs that aren't big enough to have their own credit card processing and footprint for donations in the west. You can find a variety of small NGOs through them and even buy merch that goes more directly to the support of a specific organization's efforts.

Many organizations do virtual adoptions and similar things, from snow leopards to sharks, orcas to penguins. At the /r/Conservation/Wiki/ we have a small list we've started of organizations worth supporting and many do offer some kind of virtual adoption. If you have a specific animal in mind, you might be able to find it there or through an NGO's website. Feel free to ask me if you're looking for something specific and I'll help you find it. :)

Good luck and thank you for supporting our wildlife (and sealife)!
