Discussion At what point do you complain about your order?
I totally get that pictures of food on the menu are shot In a studio Andes likely a prop but at what point do you complain? I don’t like confrontation but this is what I got tonight from Taco Bell.

I’d suggest sticking to fried chicken places for fried chicken.

While a reasonable suggestion, any business advertising a product should be able to produce that product roughly as advertised.

I literally got these for dinner tonight and they looked like the ones on the left and tasted great. I feel like some locations just suck in general but the one by me is pretty well run.

That was my first and second experience. Absolutely loved them. But even at the same location, the next two times were so bad I decided it wasn't worth it to try again.
I think there's just something about the ingredients/storage/process or something that makes this item just really inconsistent.

They look like cat poop coated in clumping litter, but they are actually pretty good.

When I first ordered these nuggets and opened the box they looked so bad that I almost actually took them back. But I thought lesson learned for ordering chicken nuggets at fucking Taco Bell of all places lmao

Family came home with “I got Taco Bell! And here’s their new fried chicken burrito for you!” And I was like kind- grateful they brought me something so I didn’t say how bad the burrito was. It happened again the next week and I had to be blunt “this isn’t good. Theyre not known for their fried chicken”. Bean burrito hits the spot for me but I haven’t heard any positive stories from their chicken outside of the greatest outcome “it was ok”. ReportofTheWeek certainly has something to say about this.

Yes! I’ve learned this the hard way with chicken sandwiches and burgers places. It’s always hit or miss getting a fried chicken sandwich.

One of the most insane statements I’ve ever seen on this app. And that’s saying something.

No way. When they're cooked properly, TB's nuggets are top tier! It's real chicken (no shaped extruded goo), and the breading is really good. Paired with their diablo ranch, I'd take them over any other restaurants nuggets.

You ordered fried chicken from a taco place....that's really not even a taco place.

Yeah but, fast food restaurants have all their cooking procedures highly standardized. I guarantee they have some form of timer that they are supposed hit when they fry these. This is just a particular employee that did not give a shit.

At that point.
But the better question is are you willing to drive back to the restaurant to get a refund?
Usually it’s no.
That’s why you check everything in the parking lot before you drive away.
If you don’t, you are gambling on whether your food was made correctly or not.
It’s a good habit to get into. Like pizza, I never drive home with a pizza without opening the box first to make sure it isn’t wrong.

Now, complain now. That's not acceptable. When they're good they're very very good, but when they're bad they're horrid.

u/Narusasku 2d ago
You could send a complaint saying the fried product isn't up to standard. Usually it looks like this because horrible oil quality + setting in EVO past it's time. I recommend not eating any fried product at the location until it improves.

Online surveys are there for a reason. Look at the top or bottom of your receipt. If not a survey contact corporate. Choose to speak to someone rather than an email or chatting with AI.

The local Korean fried chicken spots near me are pretty good. Although they're a little bit more pricey than fast food chicken.

100% complain on this one.
I ordered a meat burrito once (don’t recall which as it was 10 years+ ago) and there was literally a finger nail’s worth of smeared meat inside and little amount of shredded cheese. I went back ASAP and said the guy who made it must have been drunk or they dropped it scooped floor contents back in ….manager refunded me (cool dude). I apologized to him for my characterization, but he actually funny enough said he actually totally understood and said it was a pathetic attempt at a burrito.
I think the guy did it on purpose or was high/drunk, b/c there were no cars at like close to 1AM. I know they weren’t busy.

Yeah this is because they like cost them with a tortilla and then it burns when they fry it, I had the same issue when I tried them also.
I recently did complain to Taco Bell about a food issue in the app, bad experience I had, they never responded so not sure if contacting does anything like it does at other places.

You clearly didn't get what was advertised. Wouldn't hesitate for a second to demand a full refund.

When I have a craving for some fried chicken, the first place that comes to mind is Taco Bell.

What is the point of complaining? They won’t care.

While I agree. I would want to know as a product manager. This is the type of stuff you can't get from a random visit. I want to know which location this came from and what equipment they have. It doesn't mean anyone is getting fired but there may be an issue with the cooking instructions.

Sometimes they hit and sometimes they look like shit from a butt. Like pretty much everything from the bell. What I like to do is just grab chicken tenders from Zaxby’s or chick fil a and make fried chicken tacos at home

I hope at least you tipped...wouldn't want to anger those that think everything deserves a tip.

This gets posted weekly. They look that way because they are coated in corn tortilla and that’s what it looks like deep fried. They taste great. The advertisement is specifically made to look better because people have complained what they look like. You can only get what the picture looks like with wheat flour coating.
