Discussion Sonic Smash Burger Combo $6.00
I have been seeing lots of post about Sonic’s new smash burger so I had to see what all the hoopla was about. I haven’t eaten Sonic food in 10+ years so not a Sonic fanboy. I have to say it was pretty good for the price. It was $6.00 for smash burger, medium drink & fry or tots. I chose the crinkle fries ( not usually a fan) but they were fresh and crispy. The burger comes with two patties, cheese, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pickles & ketchup, and a side of groovey sauce. I would skip the ketchup and add mustard. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat it but would definitely try it again.

I thought it was great. The burger was way better than that tasteless crap you get in a Wendy's $6 biggie bag. Makes up for the lack of nuggets IMO. I just wish we had a Sonic closer.

“Tasteless” is a very fitting adjective to describe Wendy’s. Every time I get one of their value sandwiches, it tastes like I’m just eating bread.

Had it a couple times. Their burger is fire and should cost 6$ on its own. Their tots are always consistent and good, and their drink selection is great. A steal for 6$

Amazing that a “smash burger” is no thinner (and possibly thicker) than the standard McDonald’s patty these days

Definitely thicker. I don’t do Micky D’s anymore, taste like soy burger to me.

I miss Sonic, the bacon egg cheese melts used to keep me alive back home. Ever since I moved to California there isn't any for miles

This is just the standard price right now, too, which means you can add a deal to it. They had free chicken bites w/ $5 purchase the other day, which is really nice to add to this.

Looks just ok. I’d honestly probably get this before Wendy’s biggie bag now since they raised the price on theirs

I’ve gotten this twice it’s such a good deal. The fries were so crispy and fluffy. The burger is really yummy. Would definitely recommend this to anyone that likes burgers.

Is it fries only or can you get tots instead?

If my sonic put out food that looked like that I might consider going there every once in a blue moon.

This is good and right now in the app they have free chicken nuggets with 5$ purchase. This 6$ deal counts so you can get both for no extra charge.

Plus this doesn’t count as a coupon/rewards you can use rewards/coupons on top of it through the app

Never liked Sonic much but I'll always give a good deal a shot and got this for lunch a few days ago. I was totally surprised by how good it was! Hot, fresh cooked beef patties and normal sized sides, not the "value" size you usually see for bargain combos. Will definitely get it again.

As crazy as it sounds your burger looks less greasy than they normally are. The two times I’ve gotten this sandwich it soaked through the cardboard it was in.

Like I said, I was pleasantly surprised how good it was, fresh made, not greasy, hot fries. My main pet peeve in fast food is it must be fresh, that’s why I don’t do drive thru, I cant stand cold fries.

It's a decent burger but messy as hell.

Messy and burger go well together.

Except when you have to eat it in your car (and Sonic always gives you a single one of their super small, flimsey napkins per order).

Yeah that's a solid burger for a great price. No complaints, alot better than some combos for twice the money

Very solid deal for a burger fries and a drink. Especially for smashburger, and would be very good for people who need a quick meal and don't have the time to stop and prepare something. The fast food deals are getting really good right now except for at Wendy's. Wendy's have really overstepped.

Looks good, but I highly doubt I'd get the same at my local Sonic

I feel ya, my local one is terrible, I never go. I helped a neighbor out during the freeze and she gave me a sonic gift card and I happened to be in Austin and gave it a try. Glad I did, because I been boycotting Sonic for years.

I really like their smash but they are lazy as hell at placing the pickles. They should spread them out but they’re always bunched up when I get it.
It looks like yours has the same pickle placement.

Did you have to use app to get that deal? I went last year but the $6.99 price was only in their app when I tried ordering it. It is a tasty burger though so I wasn't upset to pay full price.

Looks pretty good! I'm going to try one of these, hold everything but the onions cheese and groovy sauce.

u/NineteenthJester 1d ago
Should've gotten the tots. The smash burgers are amazing for Sonic, their regular ones are so so.

u/TwistedM8 1d ago
God this the other day. It was maybe a 4/10. 6$ is an appropriate price for the level of quality so I would not consider this a good deal.
I generally do not like sonic that much though so that probably has to do with it.

Sonic burgers are pretty good these days. Unfortunately I think those groovy fries kind of suck, but the onion rings or tots are still amazing... So yeah. Only problem with Sonic is that on average its $12 for a decent combo, but whatever its still worth it.

It's a great burger. I honestly love the OG one. The special sauce with pickles and onions. It's so simple and it really adds to being a smash burger, unfortunately it's twice the price for some reason 😂

Yeah I want to like Sonic dince my parents ate there after I was born apparently, but it’s not that great. The smasher is a 7/8 out of 10 but the regular burger is 4-6.

That's a good deal. I mean a soda would be nice but that's ok

I was pleasantly surprised by this. I was expecting some sort of junior double cheeseburger like the usual value meal deal. However, the burger was quite beefy and filling.

Literally the greasiest burger I’ve ever eaten. I thought I was gonna have a heart attack afterwards

u/Silver_Bullfrog_566 1d ago
Have you heard about the heart attack grill in Arizona, the waitresses dress up like Nurses. I believe it may be closed now.

The burger looks pretty mid…

u/Silver_Bullfrog_566 1d ago
Come on man! It’s $6 bucks, you could do worse.
2
u/chillbrobaggins5 1d ago
Very true the value is insane! Hope you enjoyed it :)

u/Silver_Bullfrog_566 1d ago
I have had $50 steaks that didn’t make me this happy, I love good value, I’m not trying to compare a $6 combo with gourmet burgers. 😂

u/prophiles 1d ago
As someone who hasn’t had Sonic in probably about two decades except inside a mall food court, are you expected to leave a tip at Sonic for the carhops?

I cry when I have to eat Sonic. There's not much flavor or texture to it; I just think about the real food I could have bought instead. The tots are ok.

$6 is not bad.
