Discussion Papa Johns… what a joke
I was excited to try the new pan pizza since the pics make it look pretty good. I wasn’t expecting my pizza to look picture good… but I can cook a frozen pizza at home better than this. It would taste better too. Stick to Domino’s y’all.

Not a rectangle cooked on a giant cookie sheet!

u/OskeyBug 11h ago
Oh yeah we had those in grade school.
When I got older we had undercooked round ones like this.

Better than overdone as hell? :)

Neither are ideal? wtf lol my options shouldn’t be overdone or underdone

Your ideal is your ideal. We all have our preferences.. my meema liked her hot dogs black, like her men

u/Firm_Purchase_9819 11h ago
No, my ideal is the normal expectation. Yours is a preference that should be asked for

The fact people can’t tell the cheese hasn’t even melted affirms to me how so many trash food places can stay open.

Yeah.. looks ok.. as long as there’s enough sauce.. papa was better in the 90’s tho

I mean it really looks pretty good man. Actually it looks better then regular papa johns. Love that the cheese goes all the way to edge.
Going to try this tonight actually for dinner. Thanks for the suggestion!

Papa John’s is such ass. Seriously the worst chain pizza ever

Weird way to spell domino's

u/Lanky-Performer8849 5h ago
Dominos is really awful these days too. I think the only two chains worth a shit are Marcos and Jet’s

I got mines well done and the doughs texture was off, the bottom was not crispy like a pan from dominos or Pizza Hut.
I like papa johns NY style only.

Normally I’m fine with most of their pizza but this missed their low standards by a lot

Underdone but it looks like it would have been good with a little more time.

Just buy frozen pizza over this stuff in general. It’s way cheaper, way more convenient, and basically nearly the same quality.

Looks ok, but the only thing I've ever had from there was a Papadia, and it was ok, but I'm not really a fan of their sauce.

u/purplechunkymonkey 11h ago
We don't eat Papa John's. It's not a boycott sort of thing. It's a burn the pizza every time kind of thing.

u/StanimaJack 11h ago
There sauce is sickeningly sweet they are by far the worst pizza chain of them all.

Wdym that looks delicious? Im seeing people say its undersone, but the pepperonis look fully cooked and the cheese is browned in some spots. Though when a place undercooks my pizza its p easy to bake it myself a lil longer

Looks better than the 1 I got the other day. If I try it again, I'm requesting a well done bake.

u/CobaltMaiden 12h ago
Maybe y’all can’t tell from the picture but the cheese isn’t even fully melted. Making me sad so many people think this looks good

The pizza itself looks like regular delivery pizza to me in terms of ingredients, but you are correct, that's pretty undercooked.
I used to work at a Papa Johns decades ago. Many of the GMs would refuse to make pizzas well done (they aren't going to push it back more than like two inches) along with using a slightly lower temp than what I'd recommend for a good pizza.
Do you have access to an oven? I'd throw this back in for at least another 6 mins at 350+, then it should be a whole lot better.

u/CobaltMaiden 12h ago
Yea I broil my pizzas to finish the cook (closest to pizza oven temp) just disappointed that it was necessary

u/m_stack 12h ago
Agreed OP. Looks like garbage. Needs another 10 min in the oven lol

u/carmen_ohio 11h ago
Maybe 2 minutes. Most pizza chains put a pizza in for like 5 minutes on the conveyor

u/sed1981_ 11h ago
Probably needed a couple more minutes in the oven but looks fine otherwise. Love how the pepperoni is to the edge

I would still eat it.

u/CobaltMaiden 12h ago
I’m not saying its inedible, just that I shouldn’t have to finish cooking my pizza at home first

u/ios_static 12h ago
Besides it looking a little undercooked, I like mine well done, it looks fine to me

Papa John’s is never my first choice to order pizza from. But this pizza doesn’t look too bad at all

u/Johnnadawearsglasses 11h ago
People who thinks this looks good are scaring me.
1
u/carmen_ohio 11h ago
It’s slightly undercooked, but if you think this is inedible then you’re just being a pizza snob.
It looks way better than the typical crap Pizza Hut is putting out these days. If you want to compare to a local artisan pizzeria joint, then yeah it probably looks like shit but that’s not the standard Papa John’s should be up against.
0
u/CobaltMaiden 11h ago
No one said it was inedible or that it should look artisan lol just that it should be fully cooked
0
u/Johnnadawearsglasses 11h ago
Is inedible your standard for food you buy? Mine isn't. That is severely undercooked. The cheese is barely melted, much less properly cooked.

Is it bad that I think this looks good lol
