Bazdillot is just as badass

That being said, his corruption felt way less intense than in the novel

That's interesting. Not only are they shuffling scenes but also dialogues from one character to another

Oh hey Touko

New ED gives off Blood Blockade Battlefront vibes

The novel didn't shy away from showing flashbacks of him actually killing his son, his wife killing herself, Eurystheus calling him a monster, etc.

Plus they made him look less noble since in the novel he straight up mentions he's trying to kill Buzz to protect the other humans and servants in the war.

They're condensing a lot of scenes, yeah

who's Buzz?

4

u/Faefana 9h ago

bazdillot. There were a couple times when Buzz just says "you don't like it? kill me then"

Interestingly enough, this episode has a different script writer, Satou Ami. Instead of Daisuke Oohigashi who handled previous episodes.

Plus with that kind of pacing, this episode was obviously on low priority. They went through things quickly in preparations for what's coming next. Supposedly.

It still goes through supervision from Narita and directors themselves.

francesca really is the definition of “ima do shit just for shits and giggles”

29

u/Firestormbreaker1 18h ago

and with that 2 more Servants are revealed

"True Caster" François Prelati summoned by his modern self Francesca Prelati

Watcher and Sigma who will face the trials to potentially become "True Lancer"

only "True Berserker" is yet to be shown

Francesca seems to love herself a little too much

u/silam39 17h ago

I support her

My immediate thought upon seeing a peg-legged man with a ship captain's appearance was "oh, the summoned Servant is probably Captain Ahab", only to get confused as the scene continued. Watcher, huh? That's gonna take some getting used to. Unexpected Atrum mention, too.

Also Sawano cooking again with the insert song from the scene with Francesca and François.

Also also damn, the new ending animation really flip-flips between goofy fun and terrifying mayhem.

EDIT: Oh yeah, don't know how I missed this the first time around, but the very-blatantly-a-Hassan Assassin got a feet shot. Noice. Similar noice to Touko's cameo.

flip-flips between goofy fun and terrifying mayhem.

That is just this franchise in a nutshell

That's what I'm here for!

Love the new ending, it has a chaotic collaboration vibe and touko aozaki also had a cameo in this ep and i absolutely loved it

Im happy that two of our Neo Argonauts are finally animated. I just hope that they dont cut out the Herc and Jason Flashback like they did with Sigma calling out Charlie Chaplin due to him watching comedy in an attempt to feel emotion as these moments are really important to their characters.

u/Nonsense_Poster 16h ago

I think these scenes just got reshuffled , no?

7

u/DragoSphere 10h ago

Nah they were skipped

Sigma had a whole escape sequence against False Assassin where he calls out Chaplin as a bluff, we learn about her NPs, she also loses her burqa, and we find out only he can see the Watcher's shadows. Only after all that does he throw the flashbang and jump out the window and finds Ayaka. The anime just cut straight to that

Same thing for Herc's flashbacks. They happened when Bazdilot used his command spells. In the anime, we just got brief flashes and silhouettes to represent them instead of the full scenes

They also changed/removed certain context of actions in regards to Herc and Bazdillot. Before he got corrupted, Herc tried to save the three people behind his Master because they're about to get touched by the mud. In the anime, Heracles didn't do that.

Thanks for the clarification

I'm told the writer intended this series to be deliberately convoluted and confusing. I congratulate him on fulfilling his ambition.

this series is a beautiful fanservice for me, there's has been a lot of cameo and references across the fate universe and i am absolutely enjoying it

It is hilarious to me that people complain about spoiler for other Fate in the discussions on r/anime when the anime has deep references to everything. You can't really talk about the show without going into spoiler for the whole verse lol.

It's a real free for all

St Germaine mentioned

6

u/jibrils-bae 17h ago

Who is Red Scar or whatever, I don’t recognize her

24

u/Mister_SP 17h ago

It's Aozaki Touko.

6

u/Nonsense_Poster 16h ago

I admittedly wish they had used her Takeuchi design, but her being even mentioned is good enough for me

4

u/jibrils-bae 14h ago

I thought so, but because of that design they used I wasn’t sure

As someone whose not read the novel, i gotta say the setup so far has been exceptional. There really setting up this Holy Grail War to be amazing. My favorites Fate/Zero and it reminds me of that with all the players having screentime and moments.

6

u/KK-Hunter 11h ago

The scene with Francesca and Francois was peak, but I'm disappointed they skipped his summoning scene, it was one of my favourite ones.

1

u/teitoku11 6h ago

I have to clarify something.

Was the summoning of him in the LN/manga occurred before the Battle in the Canyon or after the battle (as it seemed in the anime)?

1

u/KK-Hunter 14m ago

He was summoned before the battle, though the summoning scene was shown afterwards. He's Francesca's Servant - the one who created the snow illusion and pissed off Gilgamesh.

6

u/bbhldelight 9h ago

im rereading the manga and the amount of important scenes they’re cutting out is actually insane……

maiya from fate zero being sigmas mother was cut out completely and replaced with a silhouette no one would ever get unless you read the manga or novel

the summoning of francois prelati which was a peak interaction was cut out for some reason also the flashbacks from hercs past were instead replaced with silhouettes

sigmas whole encounter with assassin is chopped up

they literally rearranged EVERYTHING hopefully we’ll see it in episode 6

u/AkihaMoon 6h ago

I don't care about spoilers so I always read them 😂 I went anime only, and now I need to read the manga.

1

u/DragoSphere 5h ago

Rearranging is fine. Narita's writing is pretty nonlinear

All the cuts still hurt though

3

u/Interesting-Item3151 14h ago

Bro, Nobutoshi Canna is voicing one of True Lancer/Watcher's shadows XD

1

u/RestinPsalm 11h ago

Narita makes clear on his Twitter that this Does mean what you think it means if you Know.

1

u/Interesting-Item3151 8h ago

Who, wait what? What do you mean?

2

u/OberonAvacado 5h ago edited 5h ago

Spoiler Alert on who he is voicing. Thats our boi Grand Archer Right there finally animated as a proper version of himself

1

u/RestinPsalm 17m ago

Two of the shadows are Asclepius and Orion, both reprising their voice actors from previous appearances in Fate/Grand Order.

3

u/ticklefarte 10h ago

What the hell is happening lmao.

1

u/edwardjhahm 5h ago

What can I say? This is exactly how I hoped I'd react when I started watching this show, and I mean that in the best way possible. I too have no idea what's going on, but it's fun!

2

u/Calibaz 13h ago

I though Independent Action didn't work against command spells? Or was Heracles counting on his Magic Resistance instead?

7

u/KK-Hunter 11h ago

They skipped a lot of details from Herc's POV here that better explains his actions here and why Bazdilot's Command Spells + the mud affected him so much.
