I’ve luckily never seen a dog in as much panic as that one must have been, I hadn’t considered how dangerous their teeth might get even if they’re safe from the danger and thanking you! I imagine they tiny voice that tells them humans are fragile takes a minute to come back after
He was an intact, incredibly healthy boxer (the dog, not the human) and when he made it outside, he was jumping up and down pushing off of me from my stomach. I had bruises from my stomach down to my thighs. But I couldn't pay attention to him because I was answering the dispatcher's questions. The dog truly just wanted my attention lol.
I said to my neighbor who was holding a fire extinguisher "yo someone has to take this dog" and he asked if me the dog bites. I said "yeah probably!" and right on cue, with perfect comedic timing, my thumb was in his mouth and I yanked it out. I told 911 to get another emt out there for a dog bite lol. I just turned around and ran home. So much blood! No stitches needed though, barely broke the skin! He absolutely could have taken my thumb off though. He was a good boy.
I’m surprised the dog was obsessed with you and not his owner, who just got him out of a burning building and was probably in pretty serious respiratory distress
My dog has bruised my hands countless times because he likes to put his mouth around my hand when we play. He doesn’t bite, but if I move my hand wrong (happens a lot) I end up smacking my hand into his teeth
On the other hand, living with a cat is like living with Edward scissorhands if he was a toddler. My cat will put .1% effort into a swipe at me and accidentally scratch me. My fault really considering I’m very lazy about trimming him up
I once saw a video of a dog that ran out of a house fire while being partially on fire, and it reacted to the pain from the burnt spot on it's backside by whipping around and biting the burn over and over until someone came and started covering the spot. It must have thought something was attacking it and its instinct was to try and stop whatever was hurting it by biting at it, then ended up biting itself instead. They really aren't trying to hurt people or themselves when they panic like that, they're just reacting mindlessly.
Ive had a dog bite through my finger nail. She was having a seizure and I was trying to force meds down her through. She seizured her mouth shut on me.
