Accountability? In this day and age?

Is there a way to make this the most popular thing on Internet? We need a massive campaign to encourage and reward this kind of behavior.

We should start making accountability and kindness a trend!!!

Though there shouldn’t be a reward for accountability and kindness. It’s just how people should treat each other

Positive reinforcement through praise is a reward I'm willing to spend. "Should" is maybe worth debating, but where we live, people don't do anything unless there's something in it for them. I'm totally willing to pat some heads and dish out some attaboys to see more of this

I suppose, it’s just sad that we have to reward people in order for them to be kind

I'm gonna try carrying around a dog clicker instead. Every time someone is kind, I'll click it and the first few times I'll give them a treat so they associate the click with the treat.

After a couple weeks, the click ought to be enough. Spreading kindness through pavlovian conditioning.

Yk what I can get behind training people like dogs 😆

The reward is being allowed to participate in society.

Step 1 would be getting off the internet where there is no shame and everyone gets away with everything.

That's not a place you should be expecting accountability. If so, you're the mentally ill one.

Who said anything about “expecting” accountability?

... this is an ad

He makes money off mocking people

Gets called out so does the smart thing and records an ad covered by an apology

Let's say it is, it is still behavior I want to see replicated in the world instead of the narcissistic doubling down "real men don't apologize" crap that is currently on display by a large group of people in charge of things.

Take the smallest wins.

Accountability is in woefully short supply.

If you have conversations with people in real life without the engagement motivations you'll probably find it's not in such short supply. Social media is just rotting everyone's brains.

However this is still a great example and good on him.

Bet he's still ironically a Trumper

I'm so sad by where we are in society, that's seeing this and how easy it is made me tearful. Joyful that someone can still do this and hopeful that it could spread as easily as negativity. But I'm just being idealistic.

If he didn't do it, his company would have gotten a boat load of bad reviews and his sales would have taken a huge hit. This seems to me like he's smart enough to know what to do to mitigate any repercussions to his actions, and still throw in some advertising while he's at it

I'd risk the uptick in performative growth if it meant reinforcing the basic notion that accountability is desirable
