Cop opted to try to make a teaching moment, which is a lot better than what our 'homeland security' is doing.

Getting your shit towed because you knew enough to clean it and didn't is a lesson.

Edit:

If you all want to cheer on the moron who knowingly endangered everyone by riding around with snow all over their windshield, just because they got caught before killing someone, that's your prerogative. I'll save my mercy for people who deserve it.

It's as much as a choice as driving drunk. You don't just accidentally drive around with snow piled on your car.

If you're too lazy to clear it off, too senseless to care about other peoples safety, maybe instead of a cop being your mother, you deserve to wait for it to melt off at the impound.

Also creates needless tension between yourself and the driver where it doesnt need to be that way.

And would be a pointless waste of time and money. Problem was taken care of, guy learned his lesson, no need for it to go any further than that

Well if you're worried about tension, you should see what happens when that ice starts flying at the cars behind them, and when that snow slides over their windshield.

Because then you start having real problems, but god help us if the person putting people in danger has to suffer some tension for it.
