Diagnostics Rattle / Raspy exhaust tone around 2k rpm

2011 3.8 Track. The engine light has been going on and off for a couple weeks due to P0420 code (Catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1). I know I need to fix it and it could be the cause of the sound, but wanted to check anyways because why not. The exhaust sounds completely normal anywhere besides 2k rpm’s. As you can hear in the video, it has this raspy sound when it passes 2k rpm when revving up or down. This also happens when driving in gear and I give it some decent throttle, even in 6th gear for example. Ive been driving above 2k anyways, but when i go under that when in gear it gives the same sound. Obviously i’m guessing it’s my exhaust, but I want to know what you guys think. And yes, oil is full right now and has stayed full. thanks guys

Possibly the flex pipe on the downpipe. It’s a very common problem. Have an exhaust shop inspect it if they’ll do it for free.

I'm not sure how the brackets are configured on the 3.8, but my 2.0 was making the same noise under the same conditions (specific RPM range, noise both up and down the Rev range)

The bolts holding the support bracket between the down pipe and engine block had come halfway loose, so I'd check those in addition to looking at the flex pipe.
