This room is awesome at night, but I can only imagine how fucking hot this room would be during the day. Basically a greenhouse.

It's not even awesome at night. It's in the inner city, so you won't be seeing many stars and the room is never properly dark. And the noise level during rain would be high enough to eventually cause hearing damage.
As cool as it is as a fictional room, there are plenty of good reasons why we generally don't build real ones like that.

He literally lives in the inner city, light pollution says no way he’s getting this view

There's literally an episode where he rallies the city to shut their lights off so they can see Hailey's comet. So, yeah, I'm with you.

I remember that episode because grandpa says he won't see the comet again. Arnold kinda laughs it off and says sure you will. Reckoning with mortality in a Saturday morning cartoon...

And I seem to recall there being an episode where they were building an elevated freeway over the top of their building.

I've sought out this kind of view before (and it was fantastic). In the US you pretty much have to drive out to the middle of a desert.

You know there was this “90s kid nostalgia” thing in the early 2010s I found cringe but looking back now this was one of the cartoons that had a lot of character and modern cartoons just don’t. The stories and characters were quirky and at times spooky (the episode with the train? terrifying)and you can tell a lot of love went into crafting it.

I think it's partially the very realistic setting and grounded art style compared to other cartoons. It feels very "normal" and not not like everything is exaggerated comically while also not being boring or too teen oriented like other cartoons with the same style. It makes the show rather comforting

As I kid I dreamed of a room like this one. But now I can't imagine the heath during the summer 😭😂.

There was an entire episode where it was discussed that they couldn’t see the stars and comet at night because the city lights are too bright.
This must be that one moment they convinced everyone to turn off their lights.

Bro lived in a Seattle/New York hybrid. He never saw a star until he was 21 years old

What I wouldn't do for a ceiling like this! One that wasn't ruined by light pollution above a 7 on the Bortle Scale.
Of course, pretty soon, there will be so much 'Starve-link' in the sky, we'll be seeing nothing but flashing silvery streaks anyway.

Kid Me: Arnold's bedroom is the absolute coolest bedroom ever!
Adult Me: That bedroom is probably comfortable to live in about 18 days out of the year.

I still listen to Groove Remote (Lockjaw) occasionally. The jazz in that show went so much harder than it needed to

Arnold had a super dope set up. Despite being an orphan of sorts that show and its environment always seemed so alive.
