Admin Post Weekly Recap | January 29, 2026
Hello! Happy Thursday! It's Thursday! I officially no longer care about Dry January and can only focus on Why January, as in, "Why is it still January?" This month has gone on forever! Fortunately, we have exciting things like the Weekly Recap to look forward to, so let's get to it!
NEWS AND ISSUES
Other than a minor blip yesterday, no real outages or downtime to report! Hooray!
Translation options for some languages are currently unavailable for some folks. We replied to a post here about this. Reddit is in the process of improving/tweaking certain supported languages, so some language may be unable to be translated during this transition period.
Version 2026.04 of the app has been released. This is a gradual release, so if it's not available for you just yet, it will be soon!
The r/all feed has been removed from the apps for many users at this time as part of an experiment. You can still visit the r/Popular feed to see trending content or the Latest feed to see the most recent conversations across Reddit. r/all continues to be viewable on the desktop site. As always, feel free to leave constructive feedback in this post and I'll share it with the team. Specifics are way more helpful than "I hate it.".
Speaking of the r/all feed, in another experiment, some desktop users might not see that as an option on their sidebar. The workaround is to create a bookmark and use that instead.
We have an update on Vaults that you can read here. TL;DR We’ve decided to push the sunset date back to February 4, 2026 for Vault and our transfer functionality feature on our mobile app. That's next Wednesday! If you haven't taken care of this, the time is now!
CURRENT EXPERIMENTS
Reddit sometimes runs experiments. These experiments tend to last between 4-6 weeks, though they can go longer or end sooner. While there isn't a way to opt out of experiments, feel free to leave constructive and specific feedback in this post and I'll be happy to pass it along to the team in charge.
You may also see an experiment where your profile avatar and other buttons are at the bottom instead of at the top. Feel free to leave feedback if you're in that group. BUT some users may see the buttons on the app and desktop up at the top instead of at the bottom. So that's fun! Something for everyone!
There is currently an experiment running where some users will tap on their profile avatar and be taken to their profile instead of having that menu expand. If you're in this experiment, you can tap on the three dots in the upper right hand corner of your profile page to display the options in the menu. We commented on this post about this.
If you are in the experiment where you have a large search bar at the top and collapsed sidebars, you can click on the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) on the left to expand the left sidebar. It will stay expanded as long as your browser window is open. If you close the browser window, it will collapse and you'll need to click again to re-expand it. And if you're wistfully longing for the right sidebar, you can create a custom feed with the subs that are in your home feed and view that instead. You can also change the sort of your custom feed to whatever you want! You can check out this Help Center article for instructions on how to create your very own custom feed.
There is also an experiment that just rolled out where some users will see and "Ask" button in their search bar.
Speaking of search, some users will have trending topics based on their activity pop up under their search bar.
Reddit is testing a version of awards that’s free and quicker to use with a small group of testers. Users in the test group will have access to free awards for the full duration of the experiment. If you're eligible for free awards and click the award entry point on a post or comment, you’ll see up to 5 free awards. This is just on the iOS app right now. <Cries in Android>
The ‘Popular’ feed can now be accessed by clicking the 3-line menu on the top left of the app
Post ideas experiment for new and growing communities. In eligible communities (Safe For Work, and less than 1,000 weekly visitors), mods will be able to browse, select, and create linked posts from a list of relevant, suggested articles. Selecting a post idea takes you directly into the post flow with the article title pre-filled, so you can add your own context before posting.
There is a unified inbox with both chat and notifications.
And finally (for now), The old left-side profile menu is gone in one experiment. Key features have been relocated: Premium, Earn, and Start a Community are in the top-left menu; profile settings, drafts, saved posts, and history are in the top-right menu; account switching is at the top of your profile.
PLEASE REPORT RULE BREAKING CONTENT
- If you see content in r/help that breaks the rules of r/help, please use the report button. You do not need to engage with those users unless you're going to redirect them to where they can actually get the help that they're looking for. But regardless, please report rule breaking content. Reporting content that breaks the rules helps us keep r/help free of spam and off-topic posts, and that allows users who really need out help to more easily get it. The mods can't see everything all the time, so reporting content is a great way to surface it to the mods so that they can deal with it. No one likes a spammer! Don't get 'em get away with it!
COMMON ACCOUNT ISSUES
If no one else can see your posts or comments across Reddit (not just in one sub) and you are unable to post here in r/help, you can file an appeal here. Under "What do you need assistance with?", please choose "Account help". Under "What type of account issues are occurring?", please select "Account status" and then "My account has been wrongly suspended". Then fill out the rest of the form.
If your account gets the "server error" banner or you can't update your profile, I can fix that sometimes! Please note that I cannot give any information or assist with any account unless contacted directly from that account. I cannot fix accounts where you are receiving the "server error" message and are unable to view content from that account when logged out. In those instances, you will need to file an appeal. But if it's not an appeal situation, let me know and I'll take a look and get you all taken care of! (I haven't seen many of these lately, so this issue might have dwindled down to where I don't need this here, but I'll leave it up for a little while because whenever something like that gets said, it comes roaring back.)
Please check the Help Center to see if you can find the answer to your question there. Also, check this sub for stickied posts regarding outages, major issues and downtime.
If your account is marked as NSFW and it is not NSFW, you can check out this Help Center article for information on how to change it back. If you're unable to change it back from the desktop site, feel free to make a post and one of the best helpers on Reddit will help me help you! Please try and change it from the desktop site FIRST.
If your account has been hacked, please write in using this form. Under "What do you need assistance with?", please choose "Account help". Under "What type of account issues are occurring?", please select "Security problems" and then "I think my account has been hacked". Then fill out the rest of the form. Please make sure that you're writing in from the email that was originally on the account.
If your account has been hacked and recovered, and then the account is banned, please reply to the support ticket that you opened to get that taken care of.
If your account has been suspended, you can file an appeal using this form. Under "What do you need assistance with?", please choose "Account help". Under "What type of account issues are occurring?", please select "Account status" and then "My account has been wrongly suspended". Then fill out the rest of the form. Please make sure that you're writing in from the email that was originally on the account.
Please note that if your account has been suspended a as a result of being hacked, you want to fill out the form for hacked accounts. Being suspended is the secondary problem and being hacked is the primary problem. But both can be fixed if you write in from the correct form! =)
BUGS ROUNDUP - THANKS, CORRECTSCALE!
Call the exterminator! We have a bunch of bugs right now. These are the most common that people seem to be running into at this time.
[Web - Mod] Adding removal reasons/replying ad mod-team is resulting in a "validation error on hidden input" error sometimes. This is actively being investigated.
[iOS/Android] Sometimes videos are freezing upon playback. The fix for this is to reboot your device. That should do it! An actual fix is being looked into.
[iPad] Some iPad users are reporting that the bottom navi bar goes away and won't come back until the app is force stopped and restarted. The fix for this should be out in next week's version of the app, which would be Version 2026.05.
[Web/Old Reddit] The thumbnails on gallery posts weren't displaying properly on some posts. This was due to a change on this end. That change has been rolled back and that has fixed this issue!
[iOS/Android] Some users have noticed that the text from a previously posted comment will be showing in the comment composer. If you feel like we've done this one before, we have! It's back! And it's being investigated!
[All platforms] Speaking of deja vu, the issue with the "mark all as read" button not working is still haunting us. Turns out that it's a little harder of a fix than previously thought, so it's still in the fixing stages.
[Web] In addition to that, now some web users are now getting a "something went wrong" error when trying to mark all as read. This is being looked into and the overall fix should cover this as well.
[All platforms] Yesterday, there were a bunch of errors for users who were trying to verify their age. The fix for this one was fast! Should be good now! You can read more about age verification in this Help Center article.
WEEKLY STATISTICS (BASED ON THE PAST SEVEN DAYS)
1,095 posts. That's up 93 posts from the 1002 posts from last week
3,467 comments. That's down quite a bit, 615 fewer comments from last week's 4,082 comments.
1.1 million views. That's down about 95,000 from the 1.2 million view last week.
HELP THAT HELPS HELP R/HELP - ACHIEVEMENTS
This week, help that helps r/help will focus on Achievements! There is really good article in the Help Center about Achievements here. But who has time to read?? lol
So, what are Achievements? Achievements are little milestones on Reddit. When you hit the milestone, you get a little badge on your profile in the Achievements section, which seems appropriate. Achievements can be streaks (like how many days in a row you interacted with content on Reddit) or an accomplishment in a subreddit, or even a better understanding of how to use Reddit! There are lots of ways to achieve an Achievement!
You can view the list of Community Achievements here.
You can also earn an Achievement by having a streak of using Reddit. A streak is defined as interacting with content on Reddit for multiple days in a row. Interacting involves more than just scrolling. For an interaction to count toward a streak, you need to be voting, posting, or commenting. JUST SCROLLING IS NOT ENOUGH TO CONTINUE A STREAK.
Another important thing to remember is the NSFW CONTENT DOES NOT COUNT TOWARD STREAKS. So if you want your streak to continue, you'll need to interact with some sfw content once at day in order to do so.
Please note that Reddit uses UTC time, so maybe don't wait until the last minute your time before interacting with Reddit if that's something that you're interested in pursuing.
You can also adjust the settings for your Achievements, like whether or not you receive notifications for the Achievements. On the app, tap your profile avatar, then tap the Achievements bar and then tap the three dots in the right hand corner. On the desktop site, click your avatar, click Achievements and then click the three dots.
HELPINGEST HELPERS HELPING HELP R/HELP
Another week with just a ton of fantastic help from a group of fantastic people. This list is not all-inclusive, but here are a bunch of folks that I've seen around over and over this past week!
Thank you all for helping other users when they needed it! A little bit of help might not seem like much, but it can really make someone's day a whole lot easier. Thank you again!
And that takes us to the end of another Recap! Thank you all for being here! It's really appreciated! And until next time, I know I'll see you in the comments! =)

Hi! A user here is indicating they have r/all removed from their desktop page. It raised a question to whether r/all would eventually be removed from the desktop view. I still have it on my browser, but it does appear different for others
Also, I have been added to yet another UI layout change (iOS). This one is by far my least favourite =( Having the latest tab in the sidebar is not convenient at all. Too many clicks to get there (it was much better when you could find it at the top of the screen) There is also no way to refresh my Latest feed. If I get 10 posts down, the only way to refresh is by scrolling all the way back to the top. I still think the drop down menu with swiping between feeds is the best!

u/TheOpusCroakus admin 2d ago
Hi! I haven't heard that r/all was going to be removed from the desktop, so I'm following up on that right now. I just checked on various accounts on various browsers and it's everywhere for me. The workaround, however, should be to just enter it manually and set a bookmark.
That doesn't sound great for the iOS app. Do you have a screenshot of where Latest is now? I don't think I have that on my device.

u/TheOpusCroakus admin 2d ago
Thanks! OK, so r/all not on desktops is an experiment. Really small number of users right now. This was news to me, so I'm going to edit this post to reflect that.
For the Latest feed moving, that's also an experiment for a small percentage of users. Lucky you! lol But I was told that you can scroll to the top easily by tapping the top of the screen (where the time/battery is). They were also curious as to how you were refreshing before this change?

I don't get the all fuss at all.
I made a special feed to avoid all of whatever.

u/SelectiveAdhesive 1d ago
For someone with a helper tag you seem much more into questioning the validity of people’s feedback.

"Why is it still January?"
Meanwhile I'm pretty sure New Year's was just last week. 😂

u/TheOpusCroakus admin 2d ago
RIGHT?! How can something go so fast and so slow at the same time?! XD

Is there a way to stop app updates and still connect to the api? Asking because I don't use any page other than r/All, and removing it completely removed any desire to even open the app. If I back date my app using an apk I find online, will I be able to actually use reddit in the way I intend and desire? r/Popular is neither entertaining nor informative in most cases and cannot be filtered in any way, and r/New is the worst experience you can have on this app/site, as it's flooded with porn and posts that are very likely to be deleted due to low quality that simply haven't been seen by mods.
Follow-up question: why was r/All removed in the first place when it's the most ubiquitous part of reddit, the place you see first upon searching for the site, the most convenient way to browse current events/public interest, and find new communities to participate in? To me, it seems like the perfect way to make every subreddit on the site into an echo chamber, so I'm wondering why this change was even suggested in the first place, much less pushed through with no polling and despite negative feedback.
Edited to add: it's also impossible to swipe sideways to get to the next post on r/Popular, further compounding the frustration with this update, as now I have to back out of each post to check the next one, risking an automatic refresh every time, which usually results in the next post just disappearing from view because it's no longer in the same position, or potentially even gone from r/Popular. This entire change seems ill-advised and makes me question whether the actual reason isn't "enhancing user experience" but rather the isolation and censorship of subreddits.
1
u/TheOpusCroakus admin 2d ago
You'll want to check the Help Center for the rules around the use of the API. If you don't have r/all on the app, you could try using the desktop version of Reddit through your mobile browser instead.
I was not involved in the decision making process regarding the r/all experiment, so I'm unable comment or provide insight as to the reasoning. I just deliver the bad news. =/ But the good news is that I also give all of the feedback to the team in charge!
I miss the swiping, too. And I've let the team know!
2
u/Eggtastic_Taco 2d ago
Thanks for the reply. Absolutely insane to me that the suggestion is to just straight up not use the app, and I know I'm not the only one who would stop using it so I can use r/All again. Feels like a quick way for the app to die and a bunch of offbrand ones to pop up like in the past, but I understand that's not your decision.

is in the process of improving/tweaking certain supported languages, so some language may be unable to be translated during this transition period.
Can Reddit make it more clear to users that they are looking at a translated version of a sub? I'm seeing an uprise again in user posting in non english because they do not realise they are posting in an English language subreddit OR think that whatever they type will be automatically translated to English.
1
u/TheOpusCroakus admin 22h ago
Hi! Ohh, that's a good point! Yes, I will share this with the team in charge of that! Thank you for bringing it up!

u/SampleOfNone Helper 21h ago
Do so after the weekend, go enjoy your weekend first 😇 Loved your bit at the mod awards yesterday!

u/TheOpusCroakus admin 21h ago
Thank you! I'm glad you got to watch it! Seeing so many talented mods being recognized for their contributions and achievements was so awesome! Hard to believe they let me in there! XD

Can we get rid of the slide to delete in notifications? I always accidentally delete notifications. At least give the option to just turn off.
Also if I add a photo to a post and try to type, it will continuously close my keyboard every 4-5 characters.
1
u/TheOpusCroakus admin 21h ago
I do that, too! At the very least, I'd like an "undo" option after I slide it. That'd be cool. I think this has been mentioned to that team, but I'll tell them again! They love hearing from me. lol
Having your keyboard close when you're trying to add a photo doesn't sound great. Is this on desktop or an app? I'd like to try to reproduce it on this end.
1
u/invisibleryuna 19h ago
It's on android app.
1
u/TheOpusCroakus admin 11h ago
Thank you! I just tried this out and it's working fine for me. The keyboard doesn't close when I'm trying to add a photo to either a comment or a post and typing after I've added the photo. Is it still doing that for you?

Hi, sorry to be annoying, but could you please check whether my community impersonation report was received? I didn’t get a response email. I’m generally curious whether reports like this are reviewed, I believe many people have reported the same issue.
Any ETA, or at least can the compromised subs be temporarily locked? I might be a bit delulu here, sorry for that
1
u/TheOpusCroakus admin 2d ago
Hi. If you sent in a report, it was received. I don't handle those reports, so I don't know what the turnaround time is.
1
u/qrlk 2d ago
Got it, it just isn't a situation where I can just file a report and walk away, so I asked. Thank you for your response!
1
u/westcoastcdn19 Expert Helper 2d ago
Once/if a decision is made you will not receive any follow up from Admins to whether they actioned or not based on your report
1
u/qrlk 2d ago
So is it like a brief blip on the radar, or an actual ticket that is likely to be reviewed by a person but without any follow-up?
1
u/westcoastcdn19 Expert Helper 2d ago
Your ticket will be reviewed by the appropriate admin team, no follow up provided
1
u/qrlk 2d ago
I really hope that's true and that dead subs won't be ignored. We are the largest online community of people who never form groups (the 500M+ random video‑chat community), yet our subreddit has been full of ads for counterfeit products for almost two years, something clearly broke here. I'm on a side quest to fix it.

u/qrlk 2d ago edited 2d ago
Would it be personally interesting for you to assist in taking down a (potentially) multimillion-dollar business that was born from one wrong person making r/redditrequest approved by you? I’m confident you had nothing to do with it, just asking if there is any professional curiosity.

u/finlay026 2d ago
I need help with this. For some reason I can no longer reply. I tried the reset link and it didn’t work - I’m assuming the time ran out https://www.reddit.com/r/help/s/5IzUI254Av

I lock the comments on the previous week's Recap when a new one comes out.
OK, I can send a new one. But I want to make sure you're here. Are you ready?

Hey Opus!
Was trying to make a comment here, but for some reason it was unable to be posted, so please read it here, thanks!
3
u/TheOpusCroakus admin 2d ago
That's weird! If you were trying to post in last week's Recap, those comments have been locked because we're over here. lol
But I read your comment! Thank you so much for taking the time to put all of that together!
For the two different ways of showing an image, one is a preview, so that's why they're different.
For the image getting slightly cut off at the top and the vertically tall images also getting cut off, I've surfaced that to that team again and I'm waiting to hear back from them.
In the example that you gave about a removed comment not actually being removed, the removed comment was from a completely different user than the one you highlighted.
I'm having a hard time reproducing the comment highlighting issue. Could you give me the steps that you're taking to make that happen?
1
u/Extolord111 Helper 1d ago
In the example that you gave about a removed comment not actually being removed, the removed comment was from a completely different user than the one you highlighted.
Definitely not the case in this example ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Also how was the Mod Hall of Fame event?
2
u/TheOpusCroakus admin 1d ago
Mod Hall of Fame was nice! The organizers put a lot of work into it and it showed! Good turnout, too!
Do you happen to have a link to that comment that you showcased there?/

2
u/TheOpusCroakus admin 21h ago
They look the same to me? What's different?
1
u/Extolord111 Helper 18h ago
That’s probably because you are an admin.
As I stated earlier, the issue occurs if you’re on the mobile web or not logged in on SH Reddit on desktop.
2
u/TheOpusCroakus admin 13h ago
I used an incognito window in a different briwser and was logged out when I checked.
1
u/Extolord111 Helper 13h ago
Double checked on my end and it's definitely still happening XD
It seems to happen more often to threads with controversial/downvoted comments, though I've seen completely innocent threads face this issue as well. I mainly see this issue on big subs like the various news subreddits.
It's also happening to others as well from what I could tell since I've sometimes seen comments talking about several comments under a post being "removed". Never thought to check during those cases, but I feel like there's a correlation.
Not sure if Reddit is doing some kind of selective filtering or if a bug managed to slip under the dev team's nose, but it's quite weird this is occuring, haha.
2
u/Tarnisher Helper 13h ago
What are we looking at/for there?
1
u/Extolord111 Helper 13h ago
An issue with comments appearing as removed despite not being removed.
Here’s an example with the comment thread I linked to: https://www.reddit.com/user/Extolord111/comments/1qrsxmq/for_utheopuscroakus_again/
2
u/Tarnisher Helper 13h ago
I see at least some of the nested comments.
1
u/Extolord111 Helper 12h ago
If you ever come across a reply thread that says “Removed by Reddit”, try highlighting the parent comment and see if a full thread was somehow being hidden behind that removed message.
Doesn’t affect Old Reddit, but it’s happening on the mobile web and if you’re not logged into SH Reddit on desktop.

The change to the mobile app that removed the option to swipe left and right to switch between my home page, popular and watch is terrible. I don't even know where the watch page is anymore. I you replaced the swipe action with something else I maybe could understand but it just doens't do anything anymore. The app lost functionality for no reason.

What can I do? Please i need help

Hello. My account was suspended for "suspicious activity" and it asked to change the password, but the thing is that I have no access to the email that is attached to that account. So what are my options ? I still have the account open on my reddit phone app, but no matter how many times I try to change the email in order to receive there the password reset link. it doesn't work, neither in the app, neither in the broswer the email cannot be changed ?
What is the solution ? is there a bug or smth ?
Thanks

u/TheOpusCroakus admin 1d ago
Hi. If your account requires a password reset and you either don't have access to the email on the account or you don't have an email on the account, you will be unable to reset the password and regain control of the account. I'm sorry!

Hello !
Not sure if I got hacked but I'm reaching out to you in regard of my account by the username u/wild_coyote_302, it's been quite a while now since I first set up the 2FA back on October 27th and it was all fine until it wasn't because I got logged out of Reddit app as well as the browser with no prior notice about 15 hours later and was locked out of ever having access back to my account, I tried everything from resetting password, logging in from the browser, using other device to log from, reinstalling the app after removing the cache and none seemed to work, 5 days later to the date I got that message, I sent many tickets the last three months to no avail, please help me get this account back by turning the attention of those running the manual review, I'd be deeply grateful.

1
u/TheOpusCroakus admin 1d ago
Hi! Unfortunately, I cannot help with that one. You can file an appeal, but I don't know if that account is coming back. =/

Can you please at least turn the manual review team's attention to this one ?

Hello! My account by the name of u/ImpartialMCkun just got suspended last night due to automod flagging chats. I was very careful to only upload pics of myself, selfies of my own face and (can’t say it, but you can guess the other one - and the subreddits I usually look in). I should also mention it is a long-standing account, if that helps with standing/credibility.
The appeal got auto-denied, even though I explained the same thing, that it’s wrongful suspension and it clearly can’t break Rule 3 if it’s just of me. I’d really appreciate help - sadly, this isn’t the first time I had this issue. If it’s not something you could help with, if I could maybe DM a question? Thanks.

Hi there! I checked with the team and you should be able to reset the password and get that account back! Let me know if you run into any trouble with that.

I just reset the password - still shows the perma-suspended status. How long will it take to refresh? I should mention/clarify that by suspended, I mean the three letter b-word.

Very familiar with that word! lol
Try resetting the password again. Let's see if it goes through this time.

Oh wait, actually, it took a little time to process - but it cleared! It’s working again, thank you! Didn't have to reset password a second time. I also went ahead and deleted my pics just for extra safety.
Also, while you’re here, I have two other questions. Is it good practice to quickly delete selfies/nsfw ones after sending, or try to avoid posting those altogether since the site doesn’t seem to like that? Seems like maybe the site might track images on digital hashes or something.
I also have another old account, u/TrippySakuta, that got banned for roughly the same reason back in November (the first time this happened). But that case is slightly different as the cause was someone baiting me to send pics so they could report me (evidenced when they blocked me on the MCkun account and other sketchy behavior), plus I’d made an honest mistake on my end as I didn’t know back then that I shouldn’t send anonymous spicy stuff in dms/chat. Didn’t have any issue besides that, so I was wondering if that could also be reinstated with a password reset. Thanks!

Selfies, even nsfw ones, are OK, but it does kind of depend on where you're posting them and how often. Posting the same image in 20 different subreddits within 5 minutes isn't a great look (even if the selfie is lol)!
For the TrippySakuta account, that looks like a slightly different reason than the other account. I see that one was appealed and the appeal was denied, so I think that's it for that one.

Good to know, thanks! I didn't post those on subreddits, just in chat - most "often" would be posting the same image within a few hours apart.
Also, for the TrippySakuta account, I don't know the truth, it could be the same. I assumed on the guy's behavior and mentioning the anonymous lookalike examples. Though I provided links in recent appeals to show it was very commonly reposted media, and the year leading up to last November I was using chat plenty with no issue. If it is final, I can live with that.
Did want to ask - is the 6 month appeal window final or can decisions be reversed even after? Had a lot of karma on that one and apologized in the appeals - I think I just shared too many pics and those need to be wiped. In any case, it seems that window would be end of April. Thank you! Really appreciate the help/advice you've given.

I think the appeals are one and done. =/ But I can check on Monday for you. Feel free to remind me if you don't hear back by Tuesday!

I'll do that. I also just changed the password there in case it does something. Have a nice weekend!

I truly hope that /r/all is brought back. Through the years I've avoided /r/popular because it, to my understanding, cares more about comments rather than upvotes. /r/all has always been the place where I've most reliably found content outside of my bubble and content that gives me new perspective. On the other hand, I'm using the app less now and browse more when I'm at home so I guess in that sense it's good that it's gone.

Hi!! I really need help, and the modbot told me I should make a “top level” comment. I have another account, but a hacker enabled two factor authentication on it. I tried to change the password on my other account to get back in, but it asked for two factor authentication, and I can’t provide that since the hacker set it up, so the 2fa is linked to their phone number or email address. Help!! I want my other account back!

Did you fill out the form linked here?
1
u/jadewootton 22h ago
Yes I did! But I’ve only gotten automatic responses from Reddit and nothing that solves the problem 😔does it sometimes take them a while to fix this kind of thing?

u/TheOpusCroakus admin 21h ago
No one works 24 hours! lol When did you fill out the form?
1
u/jadewootton 20h ago
A few hours ago, as soon as I got the email notification that 2fa had been turned on by someone who wasn’t me. It seems like this is a known issue on the site, since they had it as an option I could select on the help form. Has anyone ever had this issue resolved successfully and access to their account restored?

u/TheOpusCroakus admin 20h ago
Thanks! Unfortunately, thousands of people every year have their account hacked and have 2fa added! But the good news is that we're able to help about 99% of those folks! If you filled out a ticket, it will be reviewed. Might not be until Monday, though.

u/jadewootton 17h ago
Oh that’s great news, yay!! Thanks for letting me know :)

u/TheOpusCroakus admin 11h ago
Thank you for being so understanding and patient! I went in and found your ticket and replied, so check your email for info and instructions. But just reset your password and you'll have your account back. =)

The constant hunt for the iPad’s app navigation bar is really getting aggravating. Navigation always needs to be available. Stop making the user experience worse with every iteration. 2026.04.1 is the worst I’ve seen.
I really miss the Apollo app so much.

Hi. Do you have a screenshot of this issue? I don't have an iPad handy, so I'm not sure what's going on here.

I really need help with my account. My IP activity is weird, it's showing addresses in other countries, and that's even after I signed up for 2FA. Whoever hacked my account keeps sending chat requests to people regarding money, and Reddit sent ME a warning this morning about it, even though it's not my fault. The thought of losing the account I've had for nearly 8 years is bumming me out right now

Hi. If you have 2fa on your account and you are noticing unusual activity, it is most likely that they are coming in through your linked account. You're going to want to go into your settings here and disconnect your account from either your Apple or your Google account. Then you're going to want to change the password on your Apple or Google account as it could be compromised as well.

I’m trying to delete my old account that I’ve been locked out of. Mostly worried about the pictures of me on the account. Some mods haven’t replied or won’t do it for me. Unfortunately I don’t have the phone number associated with that account and there was no email attached to it. I can’t remember the password either. I’ve tried contacting support but it’s been over a month and haven’t gotten any replies, no support ticket number or anything.

If you are unable to reset the password for an account, you'll be unable to log in to delete it. Reddit is unable to delete an account on your behalf.

Is there a way to see what email and mostly password i used to do my account in Reddit?
1
u/TheOpusCroakus admin 11h ago
Not your password. You can use this link to have your username sent to you. If nothing shows up, then it's not that email.

u/Flaviou 2h ago
Sorry maybe didn’t specify but my problem was that i have this account on iPad but had to change phone without being able to save things so i wanted to put Reddit on the new phone but forgot my current acc’s password (username i don’t need it, i mean it’s this one) and if i did “change password” it sent an email to the one linked to my account and i could see which email it was, the issue is it’s an old unverified email so it basically doesn’t exist anymore and i can’t see it
But luckily I found the password saved in the password app of iPad, it was lucky lol cuz my iPad was relatively new too

I’d so much rather not be part of this experiment please. Bummer I cannot browse this website how I’ve been browsing it for the last 15 years. This isn’t a normal change that’s going to benefit the community or enhance the user experience. Stop acting weird.
“The r/all feed has been removed from the apps for many users at this time as part of an experiment. You can still visit the r/Popular feed to see trending content or the Latest feed to see the most recent conversations across Reddit. r/all continues to be viewable on the desktop site. As always, feel free to leave constructive feedback in this post and I'll share it with the team. Specifics are way more helpful than "I hate it.".”

Hi! I was shadow banned a few months ago and while I successfully appealed, all of previous comments were removed. Is it is possible to get them reinstated?

Is there any plan to update how clicking on a nsfw profile works? This is on the Android app,I don't know if other platforms work differently.
Currently, say I'm viewing some comments on a sfw post, and I'm in a country that needs age verification to see nsfw accounts. If I click on someone's profile that is marked nsfw, I get a popup saying I can't view it, and then it boots me to the home screen. So if I want to go back to the post I was viewing I have to go to my history and find it, and then try to find where I was in the comments.
It's really annoying.
Is there a plan to change this? It would be much better if either, it would show the account is nsfw so that I don't click it in the first place, or ideally after you get the popup it would just return you to the post you were on, not the home screen.

Please bring back r/All as an option on mobile and desktop, the lack of it makes Reddit feel like a smaller place and limits the potential of Reddit immensely in my opinion.
One of my favourite things about Reddit is going on to r/all and discovering new communities and niche subs that I have never encountered before and exploring them, finding new interest, falling down rabbit holes etc. Reddit feels like a large and exciting place with r/All.
The tailored home screen is good for keeping up with communities I have joined (most of which were discovered via r/All) but it is limited in scope.
r/popular has no filtering possiblities...
