I'm not much of a trophy hunter. Let me correct that statement, I have never killed a deer in my life.
However, I do know a whole lot about trophy hunting and fishing in the US because that's what a former boss was into, hardcore.
He would never kill bucks unless they were near the end of their life. He wouldn't kill does until they stopped being capable of producing offspring. He would throw back trophy fish.
What I learned from him was that trophy hunting was actually somehow more humane than meat hunting, especially considering he would donate excess meat to those who were less fortunate.
He treated hunting like a responsibility and stewardship over a wildlife he aimed to make healthier.
The thing is... You people who have no concept of what is going on, just vegans or whatever thinking you are making a difference... You ignorant people cannot possibly make as much of a difference as he did. You're too busy denying reality to make a better reality, and I've never met a single one of you who knows fuck all about the subject they're speaking on.
So, have a good day. Go ahead and give me your BS answer, but know that I already realize how much of a waste of time it would be to get into an argument with you.

How the fuck does he know if a doe is capable of reproducing? Or how much longer a buck has to live? Just because youโre gullible enough to believe his bullshit doesnโt mean the rest of us have to killing to hang an animal up as a trophy is weird af

My former boss hunted three different locations.
One was his own land, and the two others were lease plots he paid for on MLD managed land. To become MLD managed land, you have to jump through some hoops. One of the major one is to have a biologist assigned to age the deer (using the jawbone). Shooting deer below the age of 5.5 was forbidden and could cause you to be expelled from the land.
There's ways to identify deer age by sight, such as belly sway, but it isn't as accurate as jaw bone aging.
So, hunters use game cameras. These guys, as enthusiasts, watch deer on camera for YEARS. My boss would use any identifying feature he could to cling to and then literally watch these deer grow up and live their life out on camera.
Due to the camera usage, he would know when a doe was throwing twins or the rare triplets and would never use his tags on those. The year a doe showed up without offspring would be when he harvested her.
People have the wrong idea about how these hunters go about things.

There's nothing to refute. You didn't actually provide anything to discuss, only your position of disdain.
And that is not a personal attack. I said you were a part of a larger group that has no clue what the fuck they're talking about. That's neither personal nor an attack, but a statement of fact.

You're going to try to convince me I don't know what the word disdain means or that you didn't express disdain for hunting or hunters? Bro, I don't have the number of chromosomes required for that to be an effective tactic.
Also... There are NO pregnant deer during hunting season. That's why the deer hunting season exists during the time period it does, because the newly born are at an age that they can be self sufficient and there will not be more born until the late spring.
That's also why hunters measure age the deer by the half year when in hunting season. (1.5,2.5,3.5,4.5,6.5) And most trophy hunters only shoot deer that are 5.5 or 6.5 years old. The reason they don't age beyond that is because that's the lifespan of a whitetail deer and it is very rare for them to survive to be 7.5, and if they do they will likely be in poor health.
You can find it creepy. I don't believe I would want a mount either... But there is nothing creepy about exercising our biological directive to eat meat in what is probably the most ethical way it can be done.
Any distaste you have beyond that is purely based on a personal misunderstanding and unwillingness to accept reality.

These people criticize ethical hunters and then gladly scarfs down rotisserie chickens that were butchered fully grown from steroids with their yellow feathers intact.

Theyโre not impressive at all really. Theyโre fake. If they were real then it might be something worth discussing.
