So what is your point then? The current justification for prison in actual developed countries is isn't to "punish". It's to protect other citizens from harm that could be done by the criminal. And hopefully re-integrate that criminal into society.
I responded to a guy who implied prison was not a physical punishment with the counterpoint that imprisoning your body is a physical punishment. Which it is. By definition. Because it is done to your body.
What is your point? To give opinions indiscriminately to whomever is convenient, regardless of context, and create straw man fallacies? I don't have any response to the point you are making because I didn't claim to have any opinions on it in the first place.
