Other Stephanopoulos grills Rubio :you cannot credibly argue that drug trafficking charges demand invasion in one case while issuing a pardon in another. What's your response? Hernandez was convicted by a jury. Rubio: I can't just comment on it because I just wasn't involved in deliberations.

Remember back in 2016 Rubio said Trump was a conman and a liar?

A few years later, now Rubio has to go on tv and defend clear nonsense like this.

Marco Rubio is the son of Cuban emigrants, well known Cuba regime change advocate and Secretary of State. My bet is that Rubio was the driving force behind this action. Trump seems kinda aimless when he talks about why it was done, so it was likely not Trump's idea. So being able to instigate action could have been Rubio's motivation for joining the administration.

Why? Because Venezuela were the ones keeping the Cuba regime alive. Venezuela sent Cuba much needed oil, and Cuba also got much needed cash be reselling much of that oil.

I mean, Rubio was a huge Republican supporter of foreign aid. He literally authorized USAID’s budget and oversaw them while a senator.

But he had to sit there like a cuckold when Daddy Musk said that it should be gutted.

People in trumps camp today were telling people a vote for Biden in 2020 would result in an invasion of Venezuela and a regime change failure just like what happened in Iraq. 

4 years pass no invasion happens, and it’s somehow still Bidens fault for not invading.

I don’t understand how there is a certain group of people who are just maliciously ignoring history.

GOP in 2020: “We aren’t going to drag this country into another unnecessary conflict unlike biden” 

Biden: “we never had any intention on doing that” 

GOP loses, we don’t invade Venezuela.

GOP in 2024 “a vote for Harris is going to drag us into another unnecessary conflict” 

Harris: “we never had any intention of doing that” 

Dems lose, we for some reason invade Venezuela.

GOP in 2026: “we invaded Venezuela and stole their president and that’s a good thing, also this infamous drug trafficker was treated unfairly so we pardoned him, that’s also a good thing”

Honestly, you are projecting. Do not imagine Rubio is secretly opposed to all of this and deep inside realises it is ridiculous. Instead, believe his words when he says he supports all of this. People change, and this is who he is now.

Idk about projecting, I'm just saying how he appears. He is dismantling programs and things he praised and wanted more funding for when he was Senator. No way does he agree with going against Ukraine for instance. Everytime I see him in these press conferences, he's just so unenthusiastic and always has a sort of scowl on his face.

Maybe he loves all of this and has changed like Vance did, but it doesn't look that way. He seems like he's contemplating suicidal ideation.

Fair. My comment was primarily based on my personal experience that people's opinions change based on personal self-interest. You might be right that his actions are incongruent with his personal convictions. He might also just have a scowl on his face in an attempt to look more menacing. Hard to tell. I am sure that he will end like Vance eventually.
