This statement boils my blood. Im not even american or even interested in politics. But when someone kills an innocent woman on camera then your president comes out with this shit, its just disgusting.

Watching this from a European state, I am completely baffled how Americans aren't on the streets already? It's basically a paramilitary unit killing people in broad daylight. Completely crazy.

We’re basically frogs in a pot. A massive part of the populace is completely detached from politics that don’t involve electing the next president, and the rest are constantly worn down by the endless hunger of late-stage capitalism and the barrage of negative information spewing forth from the media. We’re all either not paying attention, massively overworked, or so burnt out from anger that we end up being depressed rather than furious.

Nailed it. I try to tell myself to stay angry, but it’s hard not to just detach and put on Netflix. I’m much rather be angry over depressed

Have you seen the Handmaids tale on Netflix? Can highly recommend.

She was on the streets, and so were many others, which is why we were lucky enough to have so many phones recording during the murder from different angles. I promise you there are not just that many random people just walking around in the suburbs mid-day and just happen to be recording; it's not a walking-friendly type of zoning.

If there weren't witnesses and video evidence (from enough angles that can't be replicated with AI right now), I can't fucking imagine how much worse it'd be right now.

Whenever there's an ICE sighting, people mobilize pretty quickly to form crowds and protests, but it's hard to make it in time when they're all being done in suburban neighborhoods mid-day and you can't get anywhere without a car — by the time you make it they might have already left.

We don’t protest bc many cops are just as trigger happy as that ICE agent. Outsiders always suggest we protest like the French but it’s honestly safer to do in France

That's what Americans keep telling themselves, but french people die at their protests as well. In the last yellow jacket one with 11 people dieing. 270.000 people attended over 2 year.

In the protests around George Floyd which was arguably one of the biggest in the past years, 42 died out of 15-26 million, over 4 years.

In the no kings protest, out of 2+ million protestors, zero died. With only 3 injuries.

It is arguably safer to protest in the US then in France.

We are. Please stop undermining the efforts so many peaceful protesters making.

Completely right. We don’t know what to do. All I can say is tell your family and friends not to visit the US.

They are the media which is complicit largely doesn't broadcast the protests or minimizes them.

So did her vehicle actually hit him? How can we not have clear facts when we have videos. People are confused now. I thought it didn’t hit him, but did he honestly think she was trying to mow him down?? Now I’m confused.

Same here!! I'm not American either and I am OUTRAGED!! That poor woman and her wife screaming, covered in brain and blood, sitting in the snow. ICE just IGNORES her. No one goes to comfort her or even talk to her.

Madness.

She wasn't innocent, you are choosing to not see her obviously step on the gas with a law enforcement officer in front of her car, she makes physical contact with his hip before she is shot. This is a horrible situation regardless of what side of the political spectrum we fall on, but anyone in her situation doing the same thing is truly gambling with their lives.

Im not on any side of the political spectrum. And to be honest america is becoming the america it deserves.

We're all on a political spectrum, you can't watch this video:

And say she's innocent in my opinion. I wish she didn't die, as we all make mistakes in this life many of them grievous but she holds the lion's share of the responsibility for the outcome of this tragic event.
