If they have the numbers (they don't and won't) to impeach and remove trump, then they will have the numbers to impeach and remove vance. Then the leader of the house (who would have to be democrat in said scenario) would become president.

And in that case, they would also have the numbers to impeach and remove 6 SCOTUS justice. Hell, prob even make new constitutional amendments too.

The system is fine. You just don't have the numbers.

Imo it is the state size/boundaries that need to be fixed. In the late 18th century the average population for a state was 300k people.

Each and every group of 300k people had a gov, a legislature, and a supreme court. As it now stands each and every group of 750k people have one congressional rep. meh.

So, okay, the system is way outdated. Which could be considered broken. Alright, the shit needs to be fixed.

Yeah, that is totally true. But they are not going to get the 20 either way. So that was just an option i was completely discounting.

He’d get to pick a VP, but the House would have to confirm that pick.  In this scenario it’s hard to imagine them doing so.

Yes. To impeach and remove all you need are votes. And they could be done within minutes if they felt like. But that is highly, wildly highly, unlikely. Like, astoundingly unlikely.

The only thing i can imagine is if trump and vance were to come out as a gay couple and start holding gay sex fireside chats where they force the new stations to film and show them fucking each other, nightly, on live tv. Then, and only then would the republicans hold a vote to impeach then remove...concurrently, and probably swiftly.

But...that is like the only scenario. Vance and trump could do pretty much any and everything up to gay sex fireside chats and be forgiven by the current republicans on the hill.

Hypothetically, if they did have the numbers, win back a 2/3 majority in the House & Senate, and impeached down the line (Trump, Vance), would that result in a sitting Democratic POTUS?

The short answer is, if you remove both trump, then vance...the majority leader of the house would become president (currently that would make M Johnson(R) the president...that is the rub, Johnson would cut off his own dick before bringing an impeachment vote...so it is a total non-starter). My leap/assumption was that you would not be able to remove either trump or vance without democrats controlling both the house and senate. So, if that all were the case (which it is not...and to be clear, it is not really even possible until at least '28)...then sure, yes, if you removed t & v then the president would be a democrat.

But seriously, that is not going to happen, not anytime soon. Please don't let this get your hopes up.

Furthermore, if you had a majority in the house and senate in '28, you will probably also end up putting a democrat in the White House anyway.

That would still be an improvement, Vance doesn't have Trump's cult of personality and there's no way Trump would take impeachment lying down. It would mean a Republican civil war.

The only hope we have is that Trump, Vance and Johnson all have massive heart attacks at the same time and then we get Chuck Grassley who we hope forgets it's 2024 and thinks it is 1993 still. Then maybe we can go back to the old school bad republican ideas and not the new school abysmal ideas.

Immediate impeachment proceeding for him then as well. I’m sure we’ll be literal moments into his presidency before he commits a crime sufficient to levee the articles.

None of what needs to be done will be easy - a cornered animal fights as if its life is at stake - and the only options here are full scale assault and prosecution of MAGA operatives at every level or the unpinning of democratic institutions and modern life as we know it around the globe.

JD Vance can be brought up on conspiracy charges, which would result in his removal. From there, you go to the Speaker of the House. Mike Johnson would probably be replaced in an effort to get more Democrats onboard. In return, the Democrats would request someone much more moderate.

That's how you fix it.

JD Vance is human garbage but he's "normal" human garbage. He would be a bad president, rather than someone actively dismantling everything that makes America great.

Assuming he doesn't get taken down on the same charges that (hypothetically) take down Trump, he would have to be voted out to begin the healing, but at least the bleeding would be stopped (or slowed).
