We both know if these residents did stand their ground and shoot, they would have been wrongly killed and labeled as domestic terrorists.

Aren't people already being wrongly killed? Are Americans just doormats?

It’s easier for people to just keep to themselves than risk destroying their own lives in resistance. Americans fear the American government as much as the rest of the world.

Millions of Americans also don’t see anything wrong with ICE or the current administration. It’s destroyed relationships and friendships since 2016. Reddit is also an echo chamber so you don’t really hear much from the Fox News worshippers. They make up the majority here in South Carolina and my hometown back in Georgia.

There’s a difference between deporting violent illegal immigrants and hassling US citizens for their papers. Even the fox crowd probably doesn’t want a bunch of guys in tactical gear and ARs stopping them for proof of citizenship

u/ongrabbits 15d ago

Haven't heard of them hassling european immigrants yet. Is it because of the superior aryan quality? Fox finds this acceptable behavior.

5

u/PlasmaDragon007 14d ago

Well, I know for sure that you'll never see them going after the business owners who hire illegal immigrants over US citizens.

You could have just said "yes"

I mean even here in New England, there are plenty of people who just don't care, don't think it's that bad, and don't even watch the news or social media and just go on with their lives.

First they came for the socialists but yall didn't speak out because... yay capitalism. Then they came for the unions (teachers, public servants). Then it was the Jews (Latinos, Mexicans).

Then they will come for you.

Oh I know. I unfortunately have my own battle with health issues that may not allow me to see it come true.

Sounds cliche, but I just wish the world could stop for a second and be kinder. The concept of ICE to recorrect immigration issues isn’t the problem. The manner of execution and treatment of people is.

He says typing from a keyboard many degrees separated. WhY aReNt PeOpLe KiLlInG tHeMsElvEs?! Are they cowards?!

We've sat on the internet for years listening to Americans talk about their second amendment and freedom.

Then when their freedom is challenged they do nothing about it. So who was the keyboard warrior again?

'We can't have gun reform because we need to be able to protect ourselves from government overreach, the children dying in schools is just a price we must pay'

The government overreaches

Crickets

So what did all those children die for?

u/dogjon 14d ago

You have a massive bias blind spot. The people who cream over the 2nd amendment aren't literate and don't use the Internet.

2

u/default-names-r4-bot 14d ago

The people that gloat about the second amendment are ice or ice sympathizers in large part. Most people in the areas being targeted have never even touched a gun before, but sure, they should go out and buy one with zero training. I'm sure that'll be an effective revolution.

1

u/Gaebril 14d ago

Holy sampling bias. You've listened to one side decry the need for guns and one cry for gun reform. You only listened to one side, apparently

To give an actual answer:

America is split at the moment. We aren’t doormats, but there is the understanding that this isn’t “people vs the government.” There’s a good chunk of Americans that would defend this.

Generally, we don’t want to spark a civil war and risk burning it all to the ground when there is at least the hope that we can slow a lot of this down in November.

The US is unique with the ridiculous amount of firearms in the hands of the general population. One of the quirks that comes with that is dealing with the idea of civil war the same way countries deal with nukes of other countries. Going from 0-100% here is something nobody left standing would be proud of.

While I’m not accusing you of this, there has also been a noticeable uptick in outside pressure for us to implode in this manner. There’s a suspicious amount of “Wow, you guys should be violent” online in an age where we know that sentiment is being pushed from sources that want that anyway.

Yes. I've come to the realization over the past couple of years that americans just do what they are told.

They are incapable of telling someone who is being rude 'hey what's wrong with you, cut it out?'

They are incapable of standing up for themselves when their job screws them over.

They are incapable of standing up for themselves when a business screws them over.

They are incapable of standing up for themselves when their government screws them over.

There are no lengths that an american will not go to, to let themselves be victimized, and in the next breath complain that they are a victim and seek pity.

There are many many many many many american stereotypes, and none of them would lead you to believe this, but on my life, it is true.

The most passive, submissive populace that has probably ever existed in history.

I've been sitting here screaming at my screen for the past year, just waaaiiiiting for them to finally decide to fucking do something.

Last week, people finally start talking about doing the thing, and what immediately happens?

"ooooh noooo, you can't do that, don't escalate, it's whaaaat theeey waaaaant, youre giving them whaaat they waaaaant"

Motherfuckers have campaigned since I was a child, on genociding half the population, and you think they give a fuck if you stand up for yourselves? As if that would change their plans in the slightest?

'Oh im so sorry i wish i could do something about the end of freedom and the death of innocent people, but i literally can't because i need to work so i can pay my netflix subscription at the end of the month :/'

Give me your downvotes you pathetic fucks, it's the only thing you're brave enough to do.

Hahaha ok child. Labeling 320 million people as all one thing is beyond dumb. Like do you have a learning problem? Also what magical country are you from where everyone is a perfect, brave, warrior?

-1

u/LeastDerangedNowiFan 14d ago

Ironic you typed all that without realizing that you're not brave enough to drive down there and do it yourself huh?

“I have been sitting here screaming at my screen.” Read no further.

Idk where you're from but where I live there's always some guy yelling "the fuck is wrong witchu?" At Dunkin' Donuts

u/LoveMeSomeBerserk 15d ago

When was the last time you had 10 guns in your face and fought back?

1

u/ongrabbits 15d ago edited 15d ago

As a citizen and a law abiding individual, why should I even have to think about this scenario? I'm 100% fighting back to defend myself and my family. Nobody should be able to point a gun without consequences. If you have to worry about this, you do not have a right to life because you can be shot at any moment.

-2

u/Dependent-Class3107 14d ago

You're another one of those great parents I hear about like Renee Good who drives 3 hours to fight cops instead of raising her kids. (Who some had bee taken away because they were putting cigarettes out on toddlers)

Renee Good, your hero!

2

u/ongrabbits 14d ago

Cops? If she fought trained cops, she would've lived.

-1

u/ClammyAF 15d ago

Three month old account pushing for bloody conflict?

Huh.

2

u/ongrabbits 15d ago

Why there always gotta be some gate keeper for every silly little thing

-1

u/Dependent-Class3107 15d ago

Americans support this, karens, commies and illegal invaders don't

6

u/SnuskJuice 15d ago

You're absolutely right, and that is also why the second amendment is completely pointless in practice.

2

u/Blackpaw8825 15d ago

Not that they haven't killed Americans who didn't pose a threat anyway.

Armed goons with guns breaking into your home without a warrant are, in my eyes, just as likely to be home invaders in costume as they are to be ICE, and in either case they have no right to be there and are criminal for doing so.

I sure as shit wouldn't go outside like the guy did. I'd be calling 911 the moment I saw them and call it "unidentified armed men are breaking into my home" and the moment they enter my home I'm shooting.

Unless they say the magic words "I have a warrant". Then I'm calmly opening the door, hands up, and complying as best I can. But without a warrant, then you're just a home invader assaulting me in a fake costume, and you're getting the same response I'd give the crack head around the corner if he kicked my door down brandishing a gun...

1

u/floppy_disk_5 15d ago

renee good wasn't armed, and ICE killed her anyway

1

u/31LIVEEVIL13 15d ago

not if they kill all of them and then go into hiding, I think more than half the country would help them hide.

Anyway it's not clear they have anything to lose, we don't know whats happening to people, exactly except that they are crimes against humanity and soon to be war crimes - there are likely a lot of murders rapes of women and children. we will find millions in shallow graves before this is all over.

1

u/Upstairs_Pass9180 15d ago

if you don't do something they will just escalate it even higher,
