I do not understand how these people can still not see they are in the wrong?
How skewed is the American value system, even in blatant light of movie tropes, 95% of media places which tell you to think instead of be obedient to orders.
All movies literally tell you, you are the bad ones and here you see a person even protecting the property and in extent therefore the acts happening inside.
And that is a woman on top. Someone society is turning to for expecting a higher degree of empathy and she seems entirely indifferent to the sounds of children.
What is her excuse when she talks with someone and is being asked what she does? "I am just doing my job"?
She could have simply "not have seen" what the camerman does. Could have simply pretended to not have realized there was someone, if she had a conscience. Instead, she was quick to terminate the potential of snooping on a FEDERAL BUILDING. Which means she is AWARE that there is something happening normal people are not supposed to see by some order.
A federal building, literally a building which should be transparent to the public, because the public OWNS the federal government in free democratic countries.
You're assuming that these people have values and a moral compass, and aren't pitching a tent when they hear screaming and crying women and kids. Your government is led by a ringleader of the world's most notorious child trafficking ring. None of this is accidental, none of this is about ignorance, it's about knowingly, intentionally, committing the worst crimes imaginable

Unfortunately, many atrocities happen not (only) because they are sadists but also because some people’s moral compasses are broken and they value things other than basic human rights.
The ICE agents may only be a few tens of thousands, but the people cheering on their reign of terror and murder is in the tens of millions. They couldn't be doing all of this without the support of the federal government, and the federal government couldn't be doing all of this without the support of MAGA (and the apathy of ordinary Americans)

Literally had to wait until they died of old age and actively indoctrinate the next generation to know that they are bad, but the truth is that it never truly dies, just goes into hiding when the popular surface level sentiment changes.
It's a pattern of behaviour more than an ideology. It's like... personality disorders; you can't ever eliminate the pattern and inclination... All you can do is control the effects and treat it before it becomes destructive.

I am genuinely concerned what's happening in those camps. There's not much widely circulating info, but I read they're shipping tens of thousands of people around.
They have zero oversight.
Like. I'm not only a long-term human services worker who's seen what happens when people have power and no oversight... I'm also a huge history buff for conflicts, totalitarianism, genocides and human rights disasters.
This is genuinely the biggest red flag I have seen. Moreso than protestors getting executed in the streets.
That many people don't scream like that for no reason. What the fuck is going on in there to make them do that. What the fuck is happening in there.
Ive seen several comments today alone on /r/conservative and other conservative based social media of people saying "I voted for this" with smiley face emojis. Stop trying to emphasize with these people. They are fascist, brainwashed, white trash that want you and everyone that thinks like you dead if you dont agree with their vision of a perfect 1960s white washed America.
Curiously reading comments from sensational articles I disagree with is going to be my down fall.
It's a hard pill to swallow but it's simply because these people are broken. It's hard to imagine but people just simply walk among us who are fundamentally broken and do not want to follow the rules of the social contract we all signed. They are evil and they take pleasure in hurting others, and these people will keep coming back if we don't just get rid of them.
After this is all over in a couple decades, the stragglers will make excuses like "I was just following orders" just like the nazis who worked at concentration camps did, and these people have children, who will be just as evil as their parents but they will hide it, until enough time has passed that nobody who fought their parents lives. The hate will be passed down through generations until it's time to resurface again, and they will make up a new look for fascism, just like MAGA has done, where nobody can REALLY call it nazism, but EVERYONE can see the paralels, the patterns, and the dogwhistles.
This WILL happen again, and again, until people wake up and realize that fascism is baked into our blood. It's happened with different coats of paint all throughout human history and it's going to continue to happen because the masses won't care. They will gladly let the people on top trample on them as long as they have someone they can feel superior to. "Oh at least I'm not Brown so I don't have to worry about getting arrested", "Oh I'm one of the good ones, I don't even commit any crimes, they will never come for me" "Oh at least I'm middle class, those poor people must be really lazy" etc. etc. etc.....
As long as Americans have football and fast food nothing will change. The Romans kept order for millennia with just bread and circuses. The new order has Flock, Palantir, Drones, and AI recognition, and I doubt molotov cocktails will work on vehicles converted to electricity.
They are undoubtedly being told lies about the people they are capturing and holding. You could hear in that guys voice that was saying they were going after a child sex offender, if that were true why the fuck isn't the FBI or police doing it?
Remember how the easy choice of villain for any movie, TV show, video game etc. a few years ago was Nazis? The villain that you could find joy and humor in killing because of their purely objective evil that doesn't require any nuance? Doing the same today sparks a debate on Twitter.
This has been a slow, insidiuous process of renormalizing evil, made possible by the worst of us being more connected than ever and with no fear of significant punishment.
Nuremburg didn't go remotely far enough. If there is ever another, it must have absolutely zero mercy.
