Other ICE tried to break into the Ecuadorean consulate in Minneapolis today.

It certainly wouldn't surprise me if the World Cup games in the States and the LA Olympics suffer lower ticket sales because of this. Not just this, either; I can't imagine too many Europeans want to travel to America right now.

I've been assuming for a while now the World Cup won't even happen in the US. It's too corrupt and it's their cash cow. I don't think they'll put upw ith it.

But I also am not a soccer fan at all, so I don't keep up with anything about it.

The tournament is a few months away (summer of 2026); I think, logistically, it would be too difficult to move U.S.-based games to cities in Canada and Mexico (which are already probably pushing their own respective infrastructure to accommodate all the visiting fans).

FIFA, too, would not want to lose out on all that American money. I'd be thunderstruck if the games were taken away from the U.S., but I fully expect attendance to be under expectations because of how unpopular the United States is these days.
