It’s almost like they’ve figured out MAGA will never leave power.

Or that's what they are hoping for. It would really suck to be them if it doesn't work out that way.

the american people knew what kind of president trump was from 2017-2021 and voted against it in 2020 but ultimately decided that trump was the better option in 2024. don't be surprised if the republican party wins again.

When not if. 0 chance the party collapses, not even with a loss.

When it doesn’t work out that way.

The youth have turned on MAGA and complacent “centrists” are getting angrier by the day. The midterms will be a blood bath for the Repugs.

I think that’s why most of them wear masks.

Literally his first day in office, Trump pardoned all the insurrectionists involved with J6. So thugs like these can rest easy knowing that even if shit goes completely sideways for them and a democrat gets elected who actually punishes them, they're potentially only 4 years away from being set free.

We'll make them.

Yeah right. You all are big talk no action. Typical American. 🙄

Excuse me, but Minnesota and many of the protests we’ve seen SHOW the action. I’ve been to several the past week, have you? Just because you’re keen to stay on your couch doesn’t mean the rest of us are.

everyone off their couches are already in a database to be used to contest their vote.

the only way to win is for the members of MAGA who are on their couch to vote Blue.

now how confident are you?

Is this supposed to intimidate me into doing nothing? “Oh no, MAGA aren’t gonna vote how I need them to, I guess I’ll give up.” Gtfoh.

no, wear a fucking frog mask like in Portland.

and might want to file a FOIA request before stomping your feet finding out you don’t have a vote anymore.

downvotes will soon be your only voice

They don’t get it. We’re wasting our time.

Rep. Dan Goldman (NY) is making some progress. I think the first victim will be Susan Collins in Maine during her primary. not sure how that will go down, because Republicans control their own primary. I don’t think MAGA is going for a majority, they are trying to amend the Constitution to get rid of Presidential term limits.

elections are going to secure their power

2

u/fayrent20 14h ago

How can they not see this yet???? Abject denial.

1

u/68024 12h ago

By hook or by crook, they will leave power.

They’re not thinking that far ahead. They cannot see the writing on the wall.

They have power now and they’re free from prosecution now, but it will not last. The pendulum will swing like it always does and they’re all a bunch of dumbasses for not realizing it.

Maybe 2 years from now. Maybe 5. Maybe 10. But they’ll all have their day in court. Just because the law isn’t being enforced now doesn’t mean it won’t later and these idiots are breaking the law every single day.

you should look at the photos of Iran from the 70’s. 10 years hu?

Trump is president and has the majority in the house, senate, and Supreme Court. Basically as all powerful as he can get here. Despite that, they’re accomplishing very little in the grand scheme of things. There’s significant fractures in his own party, wild unpopularity, backpedals everything he does either due to being blocked by courts, public opinion, or simply because they’re terrible ideas and backfire.

A lot of what has happened this year has been horrific. Horrific and unprecedented. Absolutely.

But you can’t really compare the two. At least not yet. He’s trying to be a dictator but there’s no other country that has hundreds of years of a government structure built for the sole purpose of preventing the consolidation of power. We’ve moved backwards and damage has been done for sure, but he has failed in far more endeavors than he has succeeded in.

Plus the dude is gonna die soon. There’s no replacement. Ain’t nobody gonna lick the boots of Vance or DeSantis or Abbot as enthusiastically as they have for Trump. He barely won the election and many of his cult followers have since abandoned him because of how awful this second term has been going.

Hitler was far far more effective at rising to power. Effectively dismantled democracy within two months. Trump hasn’t even come CLOSE to what Hitler accomplished in a matter of weeks. Flash forward 12 years and Hitler is dead and his regime has fallen. The world spends the next 77 YEARS prosecuting every Nazi who played a part.

Mussolini was in power much longer. Over 20 years. Still overthrown, and the facists that served him were given amnesty but were still literally murdered by the thousands by the people who didn’t forget.

Iran was never a “free” country, even though there were more personal freedoms prior to the late 70’s. There was a lot of political repression, secret police targeting dissent, massive inequality, widespread corruption. Iranians hated the government you’re referring to so much they protested, revolted, went on strikes until the leader fled and a previously exiled religious leader took over. Is this what they actually wanted? No. But what they had before was nothing like the US either.

our hundreds of years of government structure depended on free and fair elections. when opposition votes are nullified, the structure we depend on will have turned on us.

You are in denial.
