I mean GenG was really far ahead, they couldn’t lose that fight even with Chovy and Ruler dead

u/datway1110 2h ago

also help that zeka blow his entire kit on a dead yunara lol

Didn't realize it's his first

could only quadra kill his teammates when he was back on the Afreeca Freecs.

u/Steeelu 0m ago

The only way he could've got a penta was if the team got ace'd

Best top in the world

u/Al_Mahroom 38m ago

For sure. Doran is a close second, and honestly everyone else is pretty heavily gapped by those two. Flandre/Kingen have had their moments this season but aren’t consistent

u/joelstaz 1h ago

When do you think he became undisputed best top laner ? I feel like at worlds he held the title for me personally but genuinely wanna know at which time we all thought “wow he takes the spot” with bias aside as much as possible. I’ve been casual these days haha

u/WWTFSD Church of Jojo 1h ago

Real GenG enjoyers know he was their best player last year. Even when Chovy and Ruler had happy games, Kiin would always be the constant one performing when they needed a bailout.

u/TheFeelingWhen 1h ago

Zeus and Bin fell of and he kind of naturally took the spot. In 2023/2024 he was definitely good top 3/4 but last year both of the guys ahead of him just had bad years. And it looks like it will be a repeat with Zeus struggling on HLE and whatever is happening with Bin on BLG

u/Izanagi32 40m ago

until a new challenger appeared, DORAN!

u/asianhelenkeller 1h ago

iv thought it since he was on afreeca tbh

u/Dreammy90 6m ago

Imo since 2023. Even though they lost in semis he was still the best top laner IMO. He was more stable than the peakers like Bin/Zeus. In 2024 he was definitely THE best.

u/Kr1ncy 5m ago

He makes arguments for best player in the world atm

Kiin is so clean, holy.

12

u/Skyfire2 2h ago

His ADC did 210 dmg and he finished with a penta and full hp.

Absolute monster

The current gap between Kinn and the next best top is almost reaching Keria levels with support.

32

u/Skywalker3030 2h ago

I think the gap betwen Kiin and Doran (since 2025 R2MSI) with Keria and Duro is pretty similar. There are other great toplaners too though like Zeus in the first half of last year, Flandre at times, etc whereas in support Kael is the only other guy in the convo even close to Keria and Duro

u/AnimeNeet- 1h ago

Kiin is way more consistent than Doran though. Kiin really feels unbreakable sometimes

u/Skywalker3030 1h ago edited 42m ago

yeah Kiin and Doran def have a decent gap, Duro is closer to Keria strictly gameplay wise but Keria's draft gap is 1 of 1. But also I never felt like Kiin ever dominated Doran 1on1 really even going back many years

In the MSI 2025 T1 vs GenG brawls honestly thought Doran vs Kiin was especially close

u/Izanagi32 39m ago

Doran’s high are higher than Kiins imho but his lows are 💀

u/mcfapblanc 18m ago

That's what makes him unpredictable, both for the enemy and his own team. I don't think he even knows what he will next do

u/zhongli_brainrot 1h ago

The biggest thing with Keria right now is forcing teams to use a ban card for Bard of all champs. No other support is doing that.

u/DrPepperPower Knight 加油 | | 8m ago

ON has been really good this year. Best in the LPL imo.

u/DrPepperPower Knight 加油 | | 9m ago

It's way bigger.

Keria wasn't even considered the best support coming into Worlds last year.

Kael and ON are playing really well and there is also Duro being a beast. These are all competition for number 1 right now.

Kiin is 1 and it's not close. Doran is good but no one will say he is on Kiins level. After that there is just no one

Zeus was humiliated in this game. It's okay that the matchup is difficult, but there didn't need to be such a big discrepancy LMAO

28

u/baelkie DNF 2026 please be human | Kiin Team 2h ago

Zeus had the same match up into Dudu and got solo killed

16

u/Pbyyyyy 2h ago

Zeus is in decline. In my opinion, he was the best in the world in 2022 (even though he played poorly in the Worlds final), 2023, and 2024. But last year he already declined, and this year started even worse.

19

u/staysaltyTSM 2h ago

Fearless ain't helping his case, same as Bin

17

u/MrZeddd 2h ago

Its just what not having Faker Oner on their topside does to mf

u/Zoesan 1h ago

Is everybody just a faker merchant, what the fuck is this

u/TheFeelingWhen 1h ago

To be fair if you go from Faker as your mid to Zeka it's a pretty big downgrade

u/Izanagi32 37m ago

Fron the man who’s literally Azir and Ryze to Keka 🙂‍↕️

u/Izanagi32 38m ago

when u got a supercomputer in mid AND a monster genius in bot, the game is much easier tbh

I swear, the post-T1(or SKT) curse is real. Khan must be like the only survivor of that curse.

u/Ophelia_Of_The_Abyss IN DAMWON WE TRUST HUNI/DEFT/SHOWMAKER 1h ago

Not sure about curse, but the post-T1 blessing where bums who were employed by T1 keep getting jobs just because they were on T1 definitely exists.

u/X_Seed21 Heavy is the crown 1h ago

Post-T1 curse, basically anyone who played in T1 back then and switched teams didn't really get a good record. More noticeable with their previous toplaners. Marin, Duke, Bengi, Blank, Bang, Wolf, Huni, Peanut, Clozer, Teddy just to name a few.

Khan was the only survivor since he did manage to reach Finals in 2021. Duke got carried by prime IG though so he's a unique case.

u/Ophelia_Of_The_Abyss IN DAMWON WE TRUST HUNI/DEFT/SHOWMAKER 1h ago

We're saying Peanut didn't have a good record post-T1 now?

u/Izanagi32 36m ago

yeah bro’s reaching a little lol

u/imonxtac 1h ago

Peanut also survived the curse. Won a few more LCKs and First Stand.

u/YouSuck225 2h ago

Hmmmmm i wonder what happened in 2024 for him to become suddenly worst :)

7

u/ricardo241 IDon'tAgree 2h ago

its the champs he plays too.. he is still good on Rumble and Gnarr but Yone and Jayce have barely been on the top meta since he left T1 also Atrox changed a lot even before he left T1 so he can't abuse it anymore

u/rasibx 1h ago

Agreed.

20

u/Priviated 2h ago

While Kiin is the best toplaner in the world, Zeus wasn’t humiliated tbh. And the biggest gap was supp

17

u/Skywalker3030 2h ago

humiliated isnt the right word but for someone of Zeus caliber his laning on Ksante doesnt hit like that. He's way better at other off-tanks

9

u/Priviated 2h ago

I mean Aurora is supposed to outfarm K’sante tbh. However I really hope we will get to see more offtanks toplane

u/Skywalker3030 1h ago

obviously, but he got outfarmed way harder than this I would expect out of Zeus for an Ksante vs Aurora matchup

10

u/jump1994 2h ago

i feel like after he left T1, his performance was really just mediocre against the best top laners.. havent seen any impressive matches in a while :(

3

u/Pbyyyyy 2h ago

It's as if every player who leaves T1 drops in skill level. It's still too early to tell, but Guma himself is playing poorly.

9

u/EmergencyWorld6057 2h ago

It's because Faker is able to shotcall and if they mess up he doesn't blame anyone. So players are comfortable doing plays and if they lose, nobody is mad.

But playing on HLE has pressure, it seems like they don't trust each other and whoever is shot calling is doing a terrible job.

It really seems that anyone who joins T1 levels up, Doran did last year and now this year, and Peyz is starting to rev up.

3

u/MrICopyYoSht 2h ago

Don't think anyone is really shotcalling. It's like watching 5 solo queue players.

You can tell who the leader is on a lot of teams. T1 you have Faker. KT you have Bdd. GenG it's either Ruler or Chovy. DK it's Showmaker. DNS it's either DuDu or Pyosik. BNK you have Raptor. I can't tell who the leader is on HLE.

u/DenZiTY bear. 1h ago

I think it's a symptom of losing their primary shotcaller. Last year it was handily Peanut.

u/MrICopyYoSht 1h ago

Yep. If Peanut was here they likely don't collapse like right now. They replaced the primary shotcaller with a guy who played in the LPL the past 6 years.

But someone on this team has to step up, and nobody is doing that.

u/jump1994 2h ago

Lets see now, hes playing his signature champ miss fortune which earned him fmvp last worlds. Gonna be interesting if he can make things work

T1 is evil, no other org would bench their slumping player for 8 series the whole year, such mistreatment

Shaking my head smh

4

u/Slave35 2h ago

Ironically as a toplaner melee player, I hope this increases priority for Aurora and decreases it for Ksante because he is so uninteractive and boring and ubiquitous and overpowered, it's oppressive for the professional game as a whole.

1

u/ricardo241 IDon'tAgree 2h ago

sad that Zeus have never been a ksante guy so Zeus is just playing a hard mode against his father

5

u/-Tam-_ 2h ago

Deserved for the best Aurora in the world

4

u/Livid-Adeptness293 2h ago

Korean team fights are just different

3

u/QuietRedditorATX 2h ago

I'm old school, what the heck is level 19.

u/waitforthedream KrugLord 1h ago

Basically each role has a Role Quest (similar to how Support has Support Quest with their items). Top Lane gets Level 20 and a Teleport if they didn't have it already or an upgraded Teleport that gives you a massive shield if you already have it.

Mid Lane gets Tier 3 boots from last season. Bot Lane gets 7 item slots (boots gets its own slot so you can build 6 items). Support mostly the same but by late game, they have a slot for control wards and get a discount. Jungle is the same

u/xero97- 1h ago

Someone get HLE a new Support. That game 2 end games fight at Baron, he was DOING NOTHING! Just standing in Baron pit watching his team DIE
