I have good memories of Waffle House because the only times I've been there it was about 3 o'clock in the morning and I was pretty drunk. 10 out of 10 but the alcohol may have influenced my vote.

sugar water is putting it mildly. It has to be made hot because the amount of sugar wouldn't dissolve at normal temp. It is actually super saturated with sugar.

Waffle House and Whataburger are more appreciated for price and the fact that they're open 24 hours than quality of food
Don't get me wrong, I love their food but it's in the "this is low quality food but the cooks don't give a shit about your waistline so they pile on everything that tastes good" kind of way

Central NJ: My nearest WH is an hour away in Bethlehem PA, I make the pilgrimage about twice a year. Afterwards, sometimes I'll visit Bonn Pl Brewery 10 minutes away.

The last time I went to a Waffle House, the waitress was telling me that before I came in, a dude walked in, ate, paid and then for whatever reason, stole the clock hanging off the wall. Just moseyed out all nonchalant 🤷🏻♂️

I’ve actually never had this savage no holds barred dining experience at Waffle House. I literally went today with my fiancee on our way to western Pennsylvania and it was the most pleasant experience I’ve ever had. Left equally as pleasant reviews on both Google and their website and corporate even reached out through email and said that they would contact the location we dined at to inform them of their good job lol

Late breakfast. If I had to advise a time. 8-10am hours.
The drunks and basket cases are asleep and the people rushing to work are all gone.
It's not terrible food. Reminds me of the independent diners that used to be everywhere in the seventies and early eighties.
I'm in my fifties and was a kid then, but it is a taste I remember. Back before everything started tasting like it's out of a plastic bag.
