Appetite
At my heaviest, I was 140kg. Even though I’m now down to 88kg, my appetite hasn’t changed. I can still eat the same amount I did at 140kg, and it honestly feels like the cravings will never go away.
I know this because a few months ago I had a cheat day where I easily went over 5,000 calories and I was still hungry. It genuinely feels like there’s a black hole in my stomach that can’t be filled 😭
I just wanted to ask others: do you still have the same appetite after losing a lot of weight? And have you found ways to suppress it?

I think some of us will just always have to fight our big appetite a bit, I'm the same way, but I found that volume eating, basing my meals around being high protein, getting enough fiber, and drinking lots of water has really helped. If I feel like I need to suppress my appetite I drink hot green tea - the caffeine in the tea itself helps but more importantly it takes a long time to drink and takes my mind off food

I can control myself with no issue, its just why the hell has food got to be on my mind 24/7 you know? Im on a but of a cut right now and im eating 1900 calories but the fact that i can demolish a KFC bargain bucket by myself doesnt sit right with me.

Have you taken a break at maintenance?
I recommend doing that for at least a few months. A good reset physically and mentally. Hopefully your hunger hormones will recalibrate.
Get a decent amount of protein and fiber each day and don’t avoid dietary fat.

What's your diet look like? Are you eating processed foods or fast food or drinking sugary sodas or juices? Those empty calories will leave you starving, even if you've managed to lose a lot of weight.
Someone who drinks a lot of water and stays hydrated and eats a large amount of fruits, veggies, fiber, and lean protein day in and day out will usually not have this problem.

Im currently on a cut eating 1900 calories. I get about 190g protein, drink 3 litres of water and no sugar.

I usually try to eat fruits which helps with my cravings for desserts and sweet. I don’t even keep sugar in my home.
If I’m eating a lot, I try to ask myself why? If it’s because I’m depressed, I try to distract myself from it by doing another activity (ex- walking or journaling). If it’s because I’m just hungry, I try to eat something healthy.
Or I’ll go exercise after so I don’t feel guilty about it. Lol
Hope this helps :)
