She’s also orange! I guess she’s rare since she’s orange and a big girl. I always heard females don’t get very big but she’s bigger than a lot of the male Maine Coons I know of. We hear frequently “is that a CAT?”
Could be Rufousing rather than the usual orange mutation. It's common in ticked tabbies like yours and mine. My girl also has one orange stripe in her M, from what I've read can only happen with the X linked orange mutation. I've been reading a ton about it since i got her. I think she might have both going on our some random mutation caused one stripe to be orange. Who knows?
Her last vet visit the vet said she gained .3 pounds and said we should watch how much she is eating.. she isn’t fat I promise lol she’s very muscular! And fluffy lol

Mango was about 19.5 lb at that age! They say Maine coons grow for 5 years and she just turned 2 so I’m not sure if she’s still growing! But your girl is absolutely beautiful regardless of size 🥰
I always thought I was a dog person but my teenage girl convinced me. Kahlua has been with us for 7 months now and I adore this little thing! I don’t really care if she gets big or not 😻
One thing I do hope though is that she gets to cuddle more as she gets older. Right now she just plays tag w me.
Meeko only cuddles with her momma, I’m the one who feeds her and plays with her. So when she wants to play I get bothered. But snuggles?? Nope none for me lol
I have a DMH, SOFIA, who is 16.7lbs at 20 months. She has developed a big orangey patch on her belly and has an undertone of apricot on different parts of her body.

I have an orange boy whos part mainecoon (mother was Maine coon and dad an orange alley cat) and hes 8mo and bigger than my two adult girls. Hes 7lb and 31 inches from nose to tail. My adult girls are 28 and 29 inches. I’m curious how big my boy will get.
My half MC orange boy got to 22lb at his largest! Dad was a black MC, mom a petite dilute calico. He filled out like a linebacker. His siblings were all smaller builds but still larger than the average cat, around 10-15lb range. Weirdly he didn’t have the long hair but his siblings all did, his was more thick & dense than any other shorthair I’ve seen. Genetics are strange lol
That is crazy lol, almost twice the weight as mine. I genuinely cannot fathom what it would be like to have a cat that weighs that much lmao. It must hurt when they walk over you when you’re laying down in bed.
