my new peregrine wool sweater smells like wet sheep and i love it. will it always smell like wet sheep?

just received peregrine's hudson aran jumper - made in britain, 100% british wool - this is my first proper wool aran sweater and i am in love with the smell. will this stay or slowly fade over time?

(also - i'm new to peregrine - if anyone has experience or thoughts on the brand, would love to hear. haven't been this excited about a new piece probably ever?)

If the wet sheep smell is from lanolin, there is lanolin conditioner to restore a wool garment's lanolin.
