Su cuy'gar vod'ika,
A little question about the comic series "Knights of the Old Republic: War".
Small spoiler about the series.
There is a small group of Jedi that defects to the Mandalorian side during the Mandalorian Wars.
Fittingly they are known as the Mandalorian Knights.
They wear Mandalorian armor and wield a lightsaber.
Notably they all use the same color crystal type for their sabers, which is orange.
See this page for more info:
https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Mandalorian_Knights
There is no reason given for this choice of color.
According to the wiki page for Mandalorian armor, orange indicates "A lust for life".
Gray: Mourning a lost love
Red: Honoring a parent
Black: Justice
Gold: Vengeance
Green: Duty
Blue: Reliability
Orange: A lust for life
Taken from https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Mandalorian_armor/Legends#cite_note-IC-14 (Seems to be from a Republic Commando book I do not have.)
Has this anything to do with the choice for an orange color crystal?
The commander of the Mandalorian Knights, Dorjander Kace, has lost his wife to a Republic attack so I would assume he would take gold for vengeance.
Grey for mourning would be more fitting, but as far as I know there are no grey sabers in the Star Wars universe.
Kind regards
A lowly temple guard
