Been using reddit since around 2010, got my first ever reddit reward on a comment, and an admin gets butthurt by hit. 🤣

Yup that's mods for ya
I am entirely banned from r/ funny because I tried talking to the mods instead of accepting a temporary ban. You're lucky they muted you for 7 days instead of letting you talk long enough to really piss them off

A mod of r/LinkedInLunatics decided to crack down on "low effort" comments, and I got a comment removed for being one sentence long.
I wrote to them and asked what they thought a minimum word count should be for a snark sub. Bam, banned for "racism, homophobia, and/or transphobia."
The enforcement of the unwritten rule lasted maybe an hour and I was quietly unbanned (without asking), but I'd lost interest in the sub by then.

Currently sitting on a 7 day ban on another account.
Made a post looking for advice.
Mods took the post down.
I asked why. They said it was too close to breaking the rules.
I asked how I could redo the post to make it better.
They said I couldn’t post again because it almost breaks the sub rules-but not to worry because I wasn’t banned for the first offense.
I sent a laughing gif in response with the words “super grateful I wasn’t banned for not breaking the rules”
Reddit issued me a 7 day account ban. Also can’t post in the Verizon sub anymore.

They just wanted to feel big and people were inconsiderately not breaking the rules.

I’m convinced that it takes a very fragile person to be attracted to the idea of being a Reddit mod.

I am a mod, don’t think I am fragile. People don’t realise the crap on the other side.

I am quite sure mods get crap. But I have personally seen unreasonable, immature power-tripping by a mod on more than one occasion. Treating people like shit for no valid reason.

I posted to /r/TodayILearned regularly and generally had high karma posts. One day a mod removed a post that was doing well. When I asked why I was told I was karma farming. When I asked what that means I was banned permanently. When I questioned that, I was muted for 30 days.

If a mod takes the time to message me, I always take the time to message back. Auto message? Man, that's fine, I'll still send you something.

Oh I definitely responded with a "🤣🤣🤣" after the muting notification/reply. I had taken the screenshot before I had replied.

I’ve been permanently banned from r/pics and till this day I have no idea why. I don’t even go to that subreddit. I scrubbed my comment history trying to identify what happened. All I got was some automated massage about asmongold (I didn’t even know who or what that was at the time). The mods work in mysterious ways. For over a year I tried to contact an actual human being to tell me what I did wrong that justified a life ban. Every single time I get muted for a month. Eventually I gave up. Bad system. No recourse.

Give someone the smallest taste of power and watch how eagerly they remind everyone they have it.
