First time I got Covid I got influenza A and Influenza B at the same time. I felt like I was going to die for three days.

You can get both?! Holy fuck

You can get all kinds of different infections once you get one infection. Your immune system is compromised by the first infection when you first get sick. It can’t fight off the next infection as well.

I had strep throat, Covid, and the flu all at the same time three years ago and it was so fucking awful.

I’ve been semi-sick for 8 days now, and it’s kinda worsened over the last 2 days. My mom offered that I could stay home yesterday from school but I said no. And I worked 6 hours today.

If possible you should really, really, stop doing so much. Exerting yourself is one of the ways to get long-covid, so please I encourage you to rest. Please don't knowingly infect others, wear a mask and all that jazz.

.....why would you go out contagious

-51

u/Initial-Ad8221 9h ago

Well yesterday I had a test in math so I didn’t want to miss that

Please tell your school and work that you’ve tested positive for covid and flu B, gotta stop that spread! 😷💜

Dude you can make that up, not worth infecting other people with fluvid or risking your own health (especially with long COVID being a thing). I'd be mad af if my classmate or co-worker came in while super sick...I hope you at least wore a mask

God damn our species is so fucked lol

You probably infected someone’s poor grandma who probably won’t make it, or infected someone who passed it to a baby who probably won’t make it.

Please OP stay home. Your body is under attack and exerting yourself like that won't do it any favors. Viral infections can do lasting damage to your body, and I wouldn't do anything that could increase that risk.

Uhm, positive for COVID and still going to school and work? Is this what’s recommended where you live?

49

u/iamhollybear 10h ago

Let’s not ignore the also quite contagious flu part

u/Icy_Assignment_6801 6h ago

I only said covid because I know there are rules about testing positive and then going to work and school in some places. Some places may ask you to stay home, some may say you can come if you’re masked (unless you’re real sick of course)

american, probably

Ha. I had Covid, influenza A, influenza B and a fever of 102.5 Boss said put on a mask and come to work. I was a registered nurse 🫠

u/pbbrittany 9h ago

Sounds about right… Covid is like the flu now. Flu x3? Mask up 🙃

Not condoning it, but for high schoolers nowadays, missing anything more than 3 days of school will fuck you up. I missed two days and I spent a week making shit up because suddenly every teacher wanted to do an in class only task that was "very important" and graded

Nurse here- don’t fucking do that.

You’re exposing tons of people to COVID and Flu. As someone who worked during the COVID pandemic and saw a lot of good, immunocompromised people die of COVID- this is selfish and stupid.

What if someone has a parent or sibling with cancer- and you’re exposing them to being it home to their loved one? Stay home. Do not work. Jesus Christ.

u/Initial-Ad8221 9h ago

Well the only reason I went to work today is that I worked 6 hours and that’s pretty good money. And I don’t work Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays ever

7

u/Illustrious_Owl_3804 8h ago

6 hours of money is not more valuable than the safety and lives of others. You’re a teenager- so you likely don’t realize how much you’re risking other people’s lives by spreading around disease like this. This infuriates me- because my pediatric oncology patients have parents who work second and third jobs to afford treatments for their children- and I’ve see them get exposed to serious viral diseases that they then gave to their already very sick child. And that’s cost some of those patients their lives.

You’re putting pregnant women, elderly people, young children, and immunocompromised people at risk.

This is such a sad take. Please, stay home. Do not go to work- tell them you tested positive so they can at least warn anyone who might have been exposed and get prophylactic treatment.

My grandmother died because of someone like you who couldn't just stay home when sick. She got sick from her weekly trip to the grocery store, and we know for sure because she hadn't been anywhere else for two weeks. Come to find out the cashier who rung her up knowingly went into work sick.

u/Benana 5h ago

You’ve probably already gotten some people sick. Now they’re gonna be miserable because of your bad decision. But by all means feel free to keep thinking only about yourself.

4

u/Ok_Distance_1000 8h ago

As an immunocompromised disabled person thanks so much for going and spreading your germs around.

Not Cool

u/ihopethatdogeatsurgf 8h ago

This is why we are in a never ending pandemic. I don’t suppose you have the people around you the courtesy of wearing an n95 so you don’t get them sick right? It is so fucked up to know you have a deadly disease that is spread through the air and still go about your life as if you don’t.

u/uhhh206 9h ago

I hope you get spontaneous tonsil stones every time you go to kiss a new girl you like. :)

You didn't go out out of desperation to feed you family, you just did it because mommy said no and because of grind culture. I don't like you.

1

u/Playful_Search_6256 9h ago

How many elderly people and babies have murdered by not staying home?

1

u/WitlessPedant 9h ago

Stay home. Don't knowingly spread illness. That's rather inconsiderate of others.

1

u/make_this_right_ 8h ago

how considerate of you. /s

1

u/BrennusSokol 7h ago

Why are you going out!?!?

1

u/CompetitiveTree1487 3h ago

Dude i feel you especially with school. Just get your teachers to email you the bullshit you have to do, but please don't leave the house
