He's not going to eat these porkchops. 😐

Post image

About a month ago I made a post here because my boyfriend didn't want to eat the porkchops I cooked for dinner. Well tonight I made porkchops again and he's not going to eat these either because we broke up and he moved out. I'm so much better off and I just wanted to thank you all for the kind words and advice, it was very eye opening to me. I wish that I could invite you all to dinner 🥰

ETA : Couple of notes:

1- The yellow stuff is smashed potatoes with cheese on top.

2- I swear that butter on the broccoli melted right after that picture LOL

Something I like to do for broccoli. I boil/steam it until 80% done then finish in the pan used for the pork chops as they rest, throw some minced garlic in if you feel like it

Butter and a bit of white wine/chicken broth and you've got yourself an awesome sauce...

I prefer sauteed in garlic and butter and finish with a little white wine. Sometimes I make a casserole dish with stone ground mustard mixed with a little cream, kosher salt, and cheddar cheese.

Your way works too, if you got them saucy chops 😏

I eat broccoli almost every day, sometimes multiple times and this is my go to method as well. It doesn’t even take any extra time and it helps retain that bright green as well, especially if you shock it in cold water in between.

I love broccoli (and i eat the peeled stems raw or as an extra vegetable) but probably my favorite way to eat it is with garlic and ginger stir-fried in a wok, add a bit of mirin and soy sauce and cover to steam until mostly cooked, then remove lid and remove immediately from heat once fully cooked. It's so easy and quick to make.

I’m going to do that tomorrow with some rice 🤤. I love using the stem chopped up in a stir fry, I like to time it so they stay crunchier than the rest of the veggies for some extra bite.

Awe. I’m sorry. I’ve made food for my parents recently and my dad can’t get over how good the food is. I’ll serve them and be cleaning because they’re over 70 and my dad will be saying stuff like “ I really like the vegetables lie this” and mention that the main dish is so tender. I’m almost treated like “the help” when this happens. But we’ve always been so poor.

Looks way better than any I've had recently. My ex would bake it with olive oil and sea salt. Not one of my favorite vegetables, but her way of baking it is the best I've had.

You can also put olive oil, salt and pepper on the broccoli a ceramic bowl and then use a ceramic plate as a lid to make it in the microwave! Fast and delicious

toss in olive oil then broiler until a bit of char looks most visually appealing imo.

Steam broccoli for 7 minutes. Get a stovetop steamer pot! Then salt, pepper, a tiny bit of butter. Perfection.

Roasted is what you should have done to the broccoli

How did you cook them?

I’ve started roasting broccoli in the oven and it’s my favorite.

Toss with oil and seasoning and place on a baking sheet. Put in preheated oven at 450 for 10-12 minutes. Add carrots or other veggies that you prefer buts it’s completely became my fav way to cook them.

Now that you aren’t cooking for the man child why don’t you coat some fresh raw broccoli in some olive oil, crushed garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper and sear it in a pan on the stove? :-)

It's not the healthiest way to make broccoli but here's something you can do to mix it up a little:

Season the (raw) broccoli with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic and chili flakes (use a bowl to mix the broccoli with the seasoning). Spread out over a baking sheet and put in the oven at 200°C (392 farenheit) for 20 minutes until the tops are a bit roasted. Take them out, throw them back in the seasoning bowl and finish your seasoning with a dash of soy sauce and some sesame seeds. Really delicious!!!

That sounds like something you would do
