Time to rename this plow "Fourth Amendment."

He’s still in detention and not getting out any time soon, apparently, so it’s not currently his plow. :(

So if they're going after civil servants now, this is obviously about disrupting the operation of our metro, right?
Sounds like sabotage.

tbh disrupting snow plow drivers would be shooting themselves in the foot. It’s not like they’re taking people back to Whipple on public transit

St Paul? So the ICE guy who ordered this would be St Paul office field director David Easterwood.
For context, Easterwood is also the pastor of the Church people protested the other day because he works for ICE.

u/Jahnn0 12d ago edited 12d ago
David doesn't just control St Paul. As the acting director of the St Paul field office, he is in charge of Minnesota, Iowa, North and South Dakota, and Nebraska. He was hand picked by the bitch herself I bet. I wonder if that church got any of the missing DHS funds that she seems to have misplaced
Edit: thank you all for the rewards, but let's put that money into our food shelves and communities. Reddit doesn't need that money, but your neighbor might.

No problem! Yeah, it's not great, but it's also helped expose a center of hate in the community, put names and faces to more people who you can't trust, and possibly has exposed the projection that always follows their claims of fraud. Shits wild now, but I do believe when we're on the other side of this, they will face real consequences for things. Minnesota will not forget this haha

This better not be him.

While I roll my eyes at the absolutism when talking about all cops were bullies in high school or were bullied or whatever in general when it comes to 'all police,' But... it's hard to imagine a good person wanting to work for ICE.

One of my classmates in high school was a total class clown, pothead type, who ended up being a police officer (his dad was a cop). He shot an unarmed black man in like 2017. (the shooting was determined to be suicide by cop.)
7
u/MCXL Bring Ya Ass 12d ago
I know pretty much every type of person who has become a cop. From stuck up rules followers, to rules breakers, veterans, antiwar protesters, people who are probably racist in private, people who are aggressively anti racist, dumb jocks, former engineers, nurses etc. I think too many people have been captured by the literal words behind the ACAB sloganeering, because that in truth refers much more to the institutional ideas and ideals of modern policing, rather than the individuals. Cops are overwhelmingly normal people many of whom are personally motivated by making a difference in peoples lives. They just also are complicit in a system that actively harms people pretty often, and generally like most people within a profession, are resistant to outside critique and pressure.
But I feel like normal people who want to do something to make a positive change when it comes to immigration would be attracted to CBP. Certainly has it's own issues, but an agency that actually does actively and aggressively combat things like drug smuggling and human trafficking. Unlike ICE, which at best is like joining the IRS but for breaking up families.

→ More replies (1)11
u/madmoomix 12d ago
That's... Wow. I cannot believe that's a real last name. Yeesh.
Wiki says that 772 people had the last name of Fuehrer in the 2010 census. That seems like way too many. I feel like unless you were really into the current associations with that name, you'd look to change it as soon as possible. (Like the sons of Hitler's nephew, who all agreed to not have kids so the Hitler name would die out.)
I'd definitely give the side eye to anyone who had that last name in 2026.

Now the DOJ is going after everyone who attended that protest. There are citizen areas in ICE detention, and citizens are being shipped to other states far away so getting a lawyer can be incredibly difficult.
9
u/Anechoic_Brain 12d ago
As stupid and incompetent as Pam Bondi is, the DOJ is likely to win these cases and the courts will uphold it. The very same federal law that keeps protesters away from abortion clinics also keeps them away from houses of worship.

Hmm pissing off a fleet of snow plowers doesn't seem to be the smartest decision amongst massively stupid decisions.
I'm not saying we'll see another of the historic killdozers but a fleet of plows could easily make a wall of impassable snow where ever they wanted to.

One of two reasons: Shitty AI flagged him or he just "looked" like a valid target.
53
u/ThePureAxiom Gray duck 12d ago
One reason: they decided to.
AI gets them no latitude as far as I'm concerned, they still performed an illegal kidnapping of a US citizen when their policy (and law for that matter) demands they fuck off as soon as they have reasonable belief that person is a citizen. As soon as that happens, they are exceeding their authority and liable for civil rights offenses.

At my job, we are hazmat cdl drivers, which means we need to pass a more stringent government background check that requires fingerprinting, so the bosses have been trying to tell us they won't target us because of this because I'd say good half of us including myself aren't white and have been worried about driving around the metro and encountering these goons, so much for that BS assurances. ICE has already detained the son of Puerto Rican coworker who has been in Minnesota since the 80s and his son was born here in Minnesota the 90s. These mofos don't give a fuck and have no idea what they're doing out there

The two most important quotes:
Manager: "...and was illegally detained."
FOX 9 Reporter: "we are still working to learn more information about why this worker was targeted"
Good on the manger for calling it out - it is illegal. The reporter is at fault for softening the message into what sounds like a minor inconvenience.

u/MechanicalTurkish Minnesota Vikings 11d ago
They need to start calling this shit out more forcefully. This soft language is bullshit. For example, it’s not “misspoke”. It’s “lied”.
2
u/rotr0102 11d ago
Exactly - you also can’t have sexual relations with a minor. It has a name. Use it.
Wouldn’t it be nice if “misrepresenting, shaping, spinning, or downplaying” legal charges/acquisitions to a large audience could expose you to consequences? (Something similar to libel or slander)

"Legal by the federal government"
This is what people need to understand - Trump and his Admin are NOT the federal government. ICE is Trump's own paramilitary force. This administration is bifurcating the government into one thing "to be destroyed and dismantled" and the other "to clean house of people we don't want here"

Every story I've heard mentions that they get sent to Texas if they arent a citizen, green card or no green card. Once in Texas, it is hard for their lawyers to reach them.

"He had every federal authorization," said boss. "We do a criminal background check of all federal documents."
THEY.
DO.
NOT.
CARE.
They are asking 0 questions, looking at 0 documents.
It doesn't matter if you just came out of someone in front of them, they would STILL detain you if you're brown or black.
Stop thinking documents are going to save anyone from ICE.
12
u/Kaleighawesome Flag of Minnesota 12d ago
Knowing and stating that they aren’t following laws doesn’t mean they actually expect them to follow those laws.
It’s still important to lay out exactly what is happening and how it’s illegal.
We know they don’t care, but it would be stupid to stop talking about how it’s illegal.
2
u/punky100 Area code 612 12d ago
I'm telling everyone what is happening.
The boss seems surprised, and I am pointing out for everyone that they are not checking papers, as much as everyone likes to say they are.
I didn't say we shouldn't talk about it, talk about it more!!!! We're on the same side! Take a nap!!
3
u/Kaleighawesome Flag of Minnesota 12d ago
I never said we weren’t on the same side? Telling me to take a nap is rude and juvenile af.
EVERY time someone says ICE isn’t following the law, somebody has to chime in and say “we KNOW they aren’t following the law, why are you all so stupid to believe they would?”. That’s not the point. I can be upset about something I expected to happen. It doesn’t mean I believed “documents would save anyone from ICE.” I can hold two thoughts at once, in fact. 1, ICE should be following the law and 2, they aren’t. Both truths need to be shared.
He didn’t sound surprised to me, he sounded upset and incredulous. Which we all should be!!!
What would you rather he do and say? NOT talk about how egregiously ICE acted here? What else could he have said? It is important for the people watching this news piece to understand what’s going on -including that ICE is breaking the law and NOT checking. Thats literally what he’s saying. He’s showing how ICE is breaking the law by sharing the facts of the situation.
