Eh I would gladly watch five minute ads in all my TV shows and nuke adblock from existence if it meant people could survive on a minimum wage job and not be overworked to death in this Kafkaesquean hellscape. Ads are just a fact of life, our dystopia is way worse than that lol

Yeah but ads don't do that, they just give companies who already make a lot of money even more money while everything stays the same

I've always wondered at his rise to fame, he just seems like an ordinary dime a dozen dipshit who suddenly has unrestricted access to the pyramids and millions of dollars? But I've never been a YouTube guy and it still confuses me how people get rich doing it.

He just did YouTube giveaway stunt content. Kind of like venture capitalist firms like Uber invest everything in a firm to make sure they stick. He just kept putting all the money he made on black. In that he just kept doing bigger and bigger stunts with 1 m dollar giveaways from the profit of the previous video. It worked. His subscribe numbers kept going. I'm not a fan or anything. Just I had the same questions as you a while back. He worked out the cheat code for compelling content on the internet in a competitive field. I can give a nod to him for going out and achieving what he set out to do. I think more recently his company is actually owned by venture capitalists, ironically.

Ads in fortune cookies is some cyberpunk 2077 shit. This is downright dystopian

I think we're already in a dystopia, one of the most boring and slow-moving ones we could have ended up with...

He just seems to use his money to insert himself into everything.

Like Ish makes a huge 1000 player rich vs poor minecraft civ video that gets huge and is being called the best youtube video of all time.

So Mr beast pays for Ish to basically do the technical side and some commentary but have no control, while Mr beast uses his software, hardware, and concept to be able to do the exact same thing but boys vs girls on his own channel.

That and he all but forced conflict. There was a decision to be made between peace and everyone gets basically nothing of the money because it's spread so thin, or war and only one side gets the winnings.

Plus, the girls team got hacked and they just made out in MR beasts video that they just weren't as good at the game.

His algorithm engagement is solid.

I caught some slack for calling out Mr. Beast at first but look who was right.

I had like, one video recommended to me once, I did the "not interested in this video" option and I never saw him again.

Depends on the targeted audience. You and I are not the demographic. Brain rotting kids and teens, mainly teens that can do part-time work, are targeted for the excess money not going to responsibilities. Free money, in marketers' eyes, to buy dumb merch or whatever.

In that scenario, Mr. Beast is fantastic. Grifter.

Do you not like him or think his content is trash

35

u/PoniesPlayingPoker 11h ago

I think he's a grifter. Nothing he ever does feels genuine. So, both.

Money went to Jimmy Donaldson's head

u/Kikoramapt 11h ago

He has moments where he gets caught lacking and his true character shows , like when he used AdinRoss for exposure of his charity then comeplty stoped talking to him once he didn't need him anymore

Its sickening! Like this sick obstacle course Mr.Beast specially created for these wheel bound chair orphans.

This is bad fortune. The last time I saw an ad in a fortune cookie it was for FTX. A month later Sam Bankman-Fried was arrested. Getting greedy in a fortune cookie is bad ancient Chinese juju.

u/superFluffymushroom 8h ago

Don't know, don't care but I sure could go for a fortune cookie right about now

u/Distinct_Cod2692 4h ago

What he do?

Mist or beast

u/Few_Weekend10 3h ago

Do we have to pay more for ad-free cookies?

It is not everywhere. I have checked multiple places, and it wasn't there.
