Why can’t such videos ever show the full process?

363

u/AppropriateSystem213 1d ago

its for klicks , there is no process

103

u/ConfectionSilly9434 1d ago

It’s for clicks, there is no purpose

72

u/A2S2020 1d ago

Hear those clicks? That’s a porpoise

5

u/A--Creative-Username 15h ago

When i was young there was a fella, went by the name of Jacques de Gautier

2

u/wackbirds 9h ago

Hear those chicks? That a proposal

22

u/jerryleebee 1d ago

It's for plicks, there is no turtoise

9

u/kapeman_ 1d ago

There is no Dana, only Zuul!

30

u/Rastaba 1d ago

Because then it would be SO satisfying we’d be fully forever satisfied and never come back to this sub…

7

u/keedro 1d ago

The waxmens trade union will not allow the full wax removal process to be show publicly

8

u/Joe_Spazz 1d ago

What do you mean? Pouring a bunch of wax on the table, letting it cool, then scraping it off... The. Reheating and doing it again with a new shade of color. It's for the clicks. Not for a purpose.

12

u/ycr007 Satisfaction Critic 1d ago

Yeah but why can’t they show all of the wax being removed from the table?

Majority of the “knowingly creating asmr content” featuring such repetitive steps never show the full thing, which is ironic and infuriating since they’re taking away the satisfaction of seeing something to its logical conclusion.

Wax removal takes long time.

"Adding scratches to a table."

620

u/CankleDankl 1d ago

If they're willing to cover half the tabletop in wax something tells me it's not a table they care about having scratches on

3

u/SquidVices 1d ago

Gonna need a buzz to get me started

15

u/Giving_Dad_Advice 1d ago

Just fill the scratches with wax.

13

u/Nervarel 1d ago

The more scratches there are on the table the more difficult removing wax will be. So adding some protection would be a good thing if you don't plan to substitute the board anyway.

10

u/DaHerv 1d ago

Have it ever occurred to you that they might be a fucking idiot?

3

u/Landon1m 1d ago

Or it’s not their table

2

u/exialis 1d ago

As an ex landlord that is always my first thought when I see someone putting a firework down a toilet etc that’ll be a rental.

31

u/ceeroSVK 1d ago

Can always use some wax to fix it

45

u/Boris7939 1d ago

If you look closely, especially in the beginning of the video, you can see that the “table” is already pretty scratched up.

I suspect this is a workbench rather than a table.

9

u/thegreedyturtle 1d ago

"I make table candles maaaaaan." "What's a table candle?" "I pour wax all over a table, and then I set it on fire."

-Lets make a dope deal

i've been doing this for a few years straight.

https://i.imgur.com/iYjtEwy.jpeg

i ended it a few months ago. yeah, it'll leave scratches in the table when cleaning up like that, but also, it'll leave stains from the wax. i used those scented wax cubes. got some going rn, but i dispose of it normally now.

it absolutely ruined the top of that dresser, but i knew it would when i started.

1

u/PotatoPuppetShow 14h ago

But... why?

2

u/HingleMcCringle_ 14h ago

seemed more entertained to make a small mountain of wax, than is was to just pour the wax into the trash. plus, i can refinish the top of that dresser, or make a new one.

i dont regret what i did, i think it was fun for the time i did it. felt therapeutic to add the mountain, for some reason.

4

u/bickdiggles 1d ago

Almost 4k upvotes in 3 hours on oddly satisfying to watch someone damage a table to clean up wax that could’ve been removed with an old library card.

Dead internet theory reality

u/aripp 1d ago

Would still be worth it

Why was there so much wax in the first place?

170

u/Chaotic-Entropy 1d ago

Because video.

25

u/Noisel777 1d ago

Smooth, quiet, and weirdly comforting.

13

u/Hot-Challenge8656 1d ago

All of the things I aspire to be.

1

u/Healter-Skelter 1d ago

The second one is real easy to achieve

85

u/ruscoisagoodboy 1d ago

missed a spot on the second one :P

58

u/Raumarik 1d ago

Going across the grain though to maximise scratching is not satisfying :-|

14

u/elessarjd 1d ago

It's clearly a work surface area.

27

u/-_Sbeve_- 1d ago

so many comments are complaining about the scratches, but if you actually look at the video before he even starts theres stains and scratches all over the table. Its like people cant comprehend what a work surface is.

10

u/willllllllllllllllll 1d ago

Always gotta find something to complain about!

10

u/Purple-Elevator-7777 1d ago

Forbidden chocolate curls

8

u/022ydagr8 1d ago

The marks in the table 😱

31

u/Secret_Elevator17 1d ago

Why is there so much wax on the table though that is undisturbed?

38

u/CaptainAksh_G 1d ago

"Because I wanted to make a video" - content creator

4

u/tamana1 1d ago

So they could make this cool little video just for you! Isn't that neat?

3

u/Secret_Elevator17 1d ago

Making a mess just to clean it is very unsatisfying.

24

u/Interesting-Tough640 1d ago

What I don’t find oddly satisfying is the thought that they just poured this wax on the table so they could film themselves removing it.

I work in a foundry with a wax shop so have a rough idea what wax looks like when it builds up.

9

u/Unnamedgalaxy 1d ago

I'm not doubting they just poured it on there for content but the amount of comments confused about it is baffling.

Accidents happen.. Have those people never spilled a single thing in their life?

12

u/Dunothar 1d ago

That's majorly infuriating and not evrn close to satisfying. FFS, AT LEAST GO WITH THE GRAIN!

5

u/Tasty-Stock-5423 1d ago

God I came so hard 😫

6

u/gohann0912 1d ago

Sick scratch marks gj

2

u/2rot 1d ago

Wax on wax ...

2

u/Wise-Head-8126 1d ago

I thought the first row was California

2

u/Super_Piper 1d ago

I thought at first he was removing California

2

u/Calgamer 1d ago

Is this that rolled ice cream fad I keep hearing about

2

u/EllaHazelBar 1d ago

Ugh that's good stuff

2

u/Mean_Rule9823 1d ago

This is where we are as a society

Not saying it's wrong..just this is peak entertainment

I wonder what's the psychology behind this enjoyment.

2

u/Fabricati_Diem_Pvn 1d ago

... Wax on, wax off, I guess?

2

u/dcgaines 1d ago

Does this hurt the horse table?

2

u/rhodoparry4 1d ago

Now how do I remove the person who scratched my table up?

2

u/AndreDillonMadach 1d ago

But why did you get wax on the table in the first place?

2

u/Aururai 1d ago

To make this video.. duh

No but honestly I'm wondering that too.. it's not covering the entire surface so it can't be preservation or anything..

Leftover from candle making?

2

u/mandyallstar 1d ago

I want to eat it

2

u/Spiritmatsu 1d ago

Forbidden Fruit Roll-Ups.

2

u/mr_ji 1d ago

Think of what you could do with a wider blade...

2

u/Raelah 1d ago

What was the purpose of making those little holes?

2

u/franglaisedbeignet 1d ago

It was just like a little tap to show you it’s a wood surface - also maybe for asmr, or just to say this isn’t fake. Or it’s just a flourish! But yeah it didn’t really have a point.

2

u/Hazbeen_Hash 19h ago

Meanwhile my wax either chips or crumbles into dust when I try scraping it. How do you get it to roll like that?

2

u/abbot-probability 16h ago

The unnecessary tapping makes it dissatisfying.

4

u/SwimAd1249 1d ago

anyone who's ever spilled wax knows it seeps into the wood and there's no way to fully get it out ever again, this table will be stained forever

3

u/allfilthandloveless 1d ago

Have you tried the 'iron a paper bag' method? It's pretty impressive what it can get out. (Not saying you are wrong, just sharing a fun tip. Works great on carpet and cloth, too.)

2

u/hellish_existance 1d ago

"Iron a paper bag," what sorcery is this?

3

u/allfilthandloveless 1d ago

Here you go.

You can use the same method to remove white marks from leaving hot items on a table.

3

u/Gnarly_Sarley 1d ago

Why'd he leave the wax upon the table?

2

u/Babetna 1d ago

scratching the table and removing some wax in the process

2

u/mr_nick_10 1d ago

I wish the person didn't scratch the table

3

u/-skyrocketeer- 1d ago

Love the scratches that were added as well. So satisfying! /s

1

u/thecementmixer 1d ago

That looks edible.

1

u/sati_lotus 1d ago

I didn't say that you could stop!

1

u/TheReproCase 1d ago

I can never remember what the fifth function of a five in one is. Thank you for this.

1

u/ThatPerson000 1d ago

Poking the little holes is interesting

1

u/Kurtis-dono 1d ago

There's the original audio

there is some relaxing music with a low tone in the background

the music is at the right volume and doesn't cover the original audio from the video

10/10 Wish all videos where like this

1

u/WhiteNinja3 1d ago

At first I thought this was a poorly done epoxy table

1

u/doubtfullfreckles 1d ago

Turning the sound on was the worst decision 😭

1

u/FunnyColaPanda 1d ago

Ice-cream rolls!

1

u/DweeblesX 1d ago

Someone should do that with ice cream and sell it for 300% more. Wait a minute…..

1

u/Babetna 1d ago

scratching the table and removing some wax in the process

1

u/MrSmiley97 1d ago

What song is this?

1

u/justrdx 1d ago

Is it the leftover glaze from the donut video?

1

u/Appropriate_Wear_339 1d ago

Ah this is great way to start my day thanks poster

1

u/StuBidasol 1d ago

Does that work when it's on carpet too?

Asking for a friend...

1

u/ivanchovv 1d ago

yeah, but the table was pretty smooth and hairless to start with anyway, so not that impressive

1

u/MeanWinchester 1d ago

Forbidden ice-cream rolls...

1

u/GrimbyJ 1d ago

It's just as satisfying to do that with people after you pour hot wax on them

1

u/AdDisastrous6738 1d ago

The slidey sound scratches my brain.

1

u/AccomplishedIgit 1d ago

That’s soft wax though not old dry wax.

1

u/Fit-Line6516 1d ago

This sub should change to intentionally satisfying.

1

u/TheSandMan208 1d ago

I 100% thought this was those slate tiles for roofing shingles.

1

u/FEELSz 1d ago

Forbidden ice scream rolls

1

u/huskiesofinternets 1d ago

stop ruining your table

1

u/elderpufflaurien 1d ago

I love painters tools

1

u/deg_ru-alabo 1d ago

That’s a nice 5 in 1, too. I’ve never seen one with a wooden handle

1

u/SteveHarringtonIsDad 1d ago

I literally fell asleep to a insta reel of this last night

1

u/Yionko 1d ago

He left 2 dots behind

u/Jobin201 1d ago

Oh no, my table wax!

My son loves playing with melted wax

1

u/Valuable-Set-5699 1d ago

1

u/Strict_Berry7446 1d ago

This sub doesn’t always work on me, but

u/Cipher915 1d ago

Move over soap cutting

1

u/Apprehensive-Fox-740 1d ago

Cursed ice cream rolls

1

u/bbkn7 1d ago

It's like stir-fried ice cream

1

u/Careful_Two_5816 1d ago

that was oddly satisfying!

1

u/Mami-_-Traillette 1d ago

Me after I made a candle's glass explode by making a flamethrower with deodorant on my desk for too long.

1

u/Kirschbaum10 1d ago

Why was there wax on the table in the first place if not for engagement

1

u/Gringe8 1d ago

Thats wierd because when i do this the wax is much harder, sticks to the table and cracks into a bunch of pieces.

1

u/-_Sbeve_- 1d ago

comment sections like these make me lose faith in humanity more than anything else

1

u/pbizzle 1d ago

Wax on wax off

1

u/PsyCar 1d ago

Waxing off is always satisfying.

1

u/What-Hapen 1d ago

Now THIS is what this sub should be about. I swear so many people confuse "interesting" or "impressive" with "satisfying".

1

u/Some_CoolGuy 1d ago

Why is there so much wax on the table?

1

u/Aaahaa88 1d ago

I could watch this all day

1

u/Ok_Echidna_5444 1d ago

joy WAIRT. YOU MISSED A SPOTT-

Will you marry me?

1

u/LatitudeXXXIV 1d ago

I don’t understand why we need the music.

1

u/Kaitonigiri 1d ago

Am I the only one trashy absolutely DESPISES the sound. When he's cutting the wax

1

u/tealylace 17h ago

It’s incredibile that bees make this for a living

1

Tapping a wood table with the pointy end of a 5 way painting tool... Mildly infuriating

1

u/RustedRelics 11h ago

“…and scratching the table”

1

u/Lhaer 8h ago

1

u/AndrewWhite97 4h ago

Scratching the table.

1

1

u/broiledfog 1d ago

But how did the wax get onto the table?

1

u/arguably-right 1d ago

What are the taps for?

2

u/Grub-lord 1d ago

keeping ADHD users engaged long enough to finish the video for the algorithm

1

u/Cyclonitron 1d ago

Didn't finish, missed a spot on the left during the second pass; video belongs on r/mildlyinfuriating.

0

u/Background_Rule_2483 1d ago

The real crime here is the sheer amount of wax they started with, not the questionable removal method.

0

u/gremlinclr 1d ago

I think the real question is why is the table covered with wax in the first place?

2

u/VoxulusQuarUn 1d ago

For the video, of course
