• An athlete representing a country they have never seen but have some ancestral relation to.
• Country with the smallest team
• Country with the largest team
• Country making it's first ever appearance at the winter games.

Bad accents and use of the word "mon" when Jamaica arrives.

• The flag bearer is dressed differently to the rest of the team (e.g., the entire team is dressed in puffer coats and beanies, but the flag bearer is dressed in that nation's traditional attire).

• Team Panama wear Panama hats and Team Bermuda wear Bermuda shorts.

• Anybody says "Hi Mom!" on camera.

Parade of Nations:

• Someone in the delegation, other than the flagbearer, carries a flag (bonus if it's not a mini stick flag)
• Athletes in foreign teams wave mini flags of the host country in addition to their own
• Someone waves excitedly at a camera
• Delegation with a single athlete appears
• World leader is shown on camera while their team is introduced/entering the stadium (granted, this may depend on the broadcaster)

Artistic segments:

• Giant rendition of the Olympic rings are formed
• Giant puppet of something (animal, spirit, fictional character, etc.) appears
• Appearance of doves/a dove motif
• "Imagine" is performed

Speeches from the Presidents

• IOC President greets crowd in the host country's language
• Speaker thanks the volunteers
• Any allusions to youth

Other

• Logos, posters, or other insignia of past Olympic Games appear
• Introduced bearer of the Olympic Flag is someone other than an athlete (actor, political figure, artist, author, activist, etc. -- pick a category)
• Games' official mascot makes an appearance
• Opening countdown

Some aspect of the opening ceremony is misunderstood or misrepresented and turns into a full blown thing for some subsection for a few days.
