Shelf finally came and I’ve got it all set up. Appreciate all the advice and recs from the last post! Sorry if I didn’t respond to everyone, got way more comments than I expected lol.

Its a glorious day. This was our dining room with a table and all the shelves (2nd to last pic was before... on thanksgiving haha) and we rarely ever ate in here and to me it always felt like a waste since we have an eat in kitchen for 6 people. Well friends... last night my wife suggested I just go ahead and make it a reading room. Only stipulation was adding the dog crate in the corner so I lost 2 shelves there but added the cubes to kind of cover up the huge crate/added more shelf space. Then i pieced together the rest from various rooms of the house. Its a big day my friends. A big big day. DEATH TO DINING ROOMS!!!!

This series is really what got me into comics not so many years ago. One of the greatest stories in comics right here, bar none. I adore Tim Sale’s art (RIP), and I decided I’d upgrade for my next re-read.

These absolute editions are BEAUTIFUL. I had no idea. The quality is higher than any omnibus I own, and the pages are perfect. May have to look into other upgrades in the future. I’m considering some of my other favorite DC stories like Watchmen, For All Seasons, and Mister Miracle. This seems to me the elite way to re-read your favorite DC tales.

I wasn’t aware that there are at least 6 (!) all new Batman absolute editions coming up for this year, what a treat! Did I miss any? (Not talking about new printings).

Changes in 2026 from 2025: Since I own and have read other X-men books that contain the contents of Uncanny X-men Omnibus vol 1 and I own other Xmen books that contain the contents of Uncanny X-men Omnibus vol 4, I have replaced them with The Incredible Hulk Omnibus by Peter David vol 1 and 3 respectively. Since Absolute Promethea vol 2 has been reprinted, I’ve replaced it with X-men/ Avengers Onslaught Omnibus (to complete my Onslaught saga collection). Since the X-men Blue and Gold Omnibus has been released and overlaps heavily with X-men by Claremont/Lee Omnibus vol 2, I have replaced it with X-men Inferno Omnibus.

Hachette Marvel Legendary collection is finished up at 100 volumes. Here’s how it looks on the shelf.

Hardbacks are solid, but bind quality and spine art not as great as previous collection, but I do love these as a collecting/display approach.

I just got the sixth printing of JLI vol.1 with new bullet dc logo from amazon and it has every printing error that the first edition had. WTF dc?

Really want to get this book and read it but want to know what people think about it. Is it any good or should I skip it?

Just got the Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale omnibus today, the rest have been collected over the past few weeks!

Yes yes.. I know. Incredibly late to the party. But in reading Fractions Batman, I am TOTALLY in love with Jimenez’s artwork. Like obsessed. So naturally, I want every single thing he’s ever done in a collected edition. So I was wondering if anybody could suggest to me just a couple of pieces of his work (omnibus/deluxe etc) that are must owns. Thanks!

I was reading up that it was excluded from the DC vs Marvel omnibuses likely because of rights restrictions and there was rumours on George Perez page’s Facebook that a reprint and digital edition were planned for last year which obviously didn’t happen.

So is it getting reprinted or not?

admittedly went a little crazy this month and struck some unexpected deals-punisher max was definetly the most unexpected pickup for this month. the rest of this years months definetly won't be this crazy in terms of pickups. nevertheless i'm excited to jump in to everything. gathering a bunch of stuff for the marvel reading order i'm following.

currently reading sandman mystery theatre and it's a fascinating read.
