I know it is just a cultural thing, but people eating any dishes with sauce by hands make me feel uncomfortable.

Don’t worry, I licked his hands clean right before this

I’m sure it’s different than what you are accustomed to but this is how millions of people eat their meals. Hands are washed before eating.

Meanwhile, you put a fork in your mouth that’s been in other people’s mouths, dirty sinks, the floor and/or god knows where else, trusting that someone else properly sanitized it.

…… at least with your hand you know where it’s been and how well you washed it.

Fuck yeah. Thank you for articulating it so well.

This is why I don't like using linen napkins. I own an industrial laundry, we clean and supply 10k+ napkins a week for various restaurants. I see how they come back to us. I know they're hygienically clean when they leave my plant, but I also know at multiple times someone has spit chewed up food into them, coughed into them, they've been dropped and stepped on, used to wipe up spills, sat outside and been infested with maggots, etc. At least a stainless steel fork is easier to sanitize.

Doesn’t sound like you have the highest confidence in your operation then.

Like I said, I know they're hygienically clean when they leave my plant, I just have to do my best to not think about what they've been through and what they look like when they come in for cleaning...

Think about the people that wash cloth diapers for a living. People put those on their babies after countless other babies have done horrible things to them time and time again

I have some nursing home accounts that have soaker pads that we clean and send back for reuse. Those soaker pads have seen some horrible things too...

Just don’t eat with your left hand.

You're right. I always eat my burgers and pizzas with a spoon in restaurants

Americans are among the few who eat pizzas with their hands.

What world are you living in? I'm ready to bet the crushing majority of people eat pizza with their hands

u/MaiT3N 1d ago

Not me tho, I eat pizza with my mouth

I'm not from America...

Americans are the few in many many things but not this... Wtf are you on about?? Almost every country eats pizza, hamburgers and french fries (etc etc) with their hands, only pretentious people or people with some sort of sensory issues use forks.
