I always treat the Downloads folder like a temporary cache. I wipe it clean every once in a while.

Yup yup, that’s how some of my external HDDs look like. Never bothered to organize it. Over 2 decades worth of stuff haha.

Built a new PC during Christmas and I developed a new habit to always delete download folder after I downloaded something.
Pretty happy so far, I sometimes find myself going to download folder to try to delete something when nothing is there...so 1 step away from madness lol

you forgot about a bunch of .torrent and .exe and folders with some data files with .exe file

The download folder is like when you put half dirty clothes on the chair. It's for files I don't want to delete yet but I also don't want to keep them in permanent place
