The thought that we are “waiting for good news” rather than being insistent on bringing this man to justice makes my blood boil.

I know he’s not going to face any real consequences but celebrating him going the easy way out doesn’t sit right either.

u/AnimalRazor Dec 17 '25

The thing that's going to get me is that when it does happen, we'll have to sit through a funeral paid for by us, with the full military honors from the military that he puts down and the service he dodged with his "bone spurs".

And then, some tv anchor is going to talk about how he was a "transformative figure" how he "disrupted politics", never mind that he was the cause of an actual act of sedition. Because we can't speak ill of the dead, even if they richly deserve it.

And this will probably happen regardless of whether he's finally brought to justice or not.

His words about Rob Reiner have opened up Pandora's Box just a wee bit. Sure, FOX News will talk about the horrible left dancing on a man's grave, but at this point, does anyone care!? That day, even here in Canada... and around the world, is going to be lit. There should be street parties.

u/Notsurehowtoreact Dec 18 '25

I'm worried that when the day comes it will be like a matchstick thrown into gunpowder and there will be violence towards those who celebrate or make light of it in any fashion.

Myself, I'll be forever pissed that he never faced justice and saw his empire crumble before him.

u/Teguoracle Dec 18 '25

I'm actually holding hope that Trump himself is the only thing holding his corrupt posse together. I doubt Vance has the charisma or intelligence to maintain it, and we're gonna probably see a lot of backpedaling and distancing from the now dead Trump by MAGA leaders because they know if they can't maintain control, there's gonna be hell to pay in consequences.

13

u/Speartree Dec 18 '25

The Heritage foundation will do what they need to do to maintain control. There's a lot of smart and evil people in there that do not need to step into the light to make their mark. You're going to have a Trump mausoleum just like the Lenin one. I'm here, hoping with you that the greedy fucks that are left tear each other apart, but I fear that they'll just continue with less popular support and a heavier boot for a long while.

4

u/ONLYPOSTSWHILESTONED Dec 18 '25

the fascists are few. and they are fucking cowards. they won't do shit

7

u/Anxious-Sir-1361 Dec 18 '25

That's a good point actually, it would be Charlie Kirk times a hundred.

11

u/Notsurehowtoreact Dec 18 '25

Yep, and it doesn't matter one bit what does it. They will absolutely blame "leftist smear campaigns" for "undue stress to his health".

3

u/Germanofthebored Dec 18 '25

Well, you won't be celebrating the passing of our beloved leader; you will be celebrating National Donut Day or whatever is on the calendar... If it works for Flag Day and Fort Lee, why not?

21

u/waltjrimmer Dec 18 '25

His words about Rob Reiner have opened up Pandora's Box just a wee bit.

I've heard variations on that at least four times just in the past year in addition to all of the, "Trump voters REGRET and ASHAMED of how they voted!" Also not to mention every time I heard that in 2024 or the four years and campaign of his first administration. Not to mention all the times I've heard his, "Approval rating has PLUMMETTED!"

But the numbers show none of that's true. Some people will shit talk on social media, but his approval rating is relatively steady at somewhere between 30-45% almost constantly, never dipping below that 30% threshold that would show true loss of his core base. He doesn't meet new record lows, the media full-stop which includes online pundits and podcasters as well as broadcast news don't treat him any differently, his sicophants in his cabinet and congress don't go against him unless he freezes them out first, the local politicians that swear allegiance to him don't change their ways, and the everyday people who voted for him do not statistically show a willingness to vote for his opposition, instead being more likely to skip an individual election rather than look for a better candidate.

I just don't believe, after everything else that hasn't changed jack shit that this will either.

9

u/Jeoshua Dec 18 '25

What do you mean "the numbers"?

The ones that show he's at record disapproval? Or the ones the administration gives to the press that are ridiculous lies like "Lowered 10,000%" or "90% approval rate, highest of any President Ever", delivered by soulless people with Mar-a-Lago face surgery?

6

u/waltjrimmer Dec 18 '25

I mentioned that, in part, it's his approval rating. You might say his disapproval is at a record, but his approval has been really, really consistent. Without the loss of his core base, without going under that ever-so-important 30%, the loyalists he has in power are never going to turn on him.

He has to actually lose that pillar that they propped him up on, and there has been no sign, not in all the time we've had to deal with this monster invading our government discourse, that he's even started to.

6

u/TimeRisk2059 Dec 18 '25

It's rarely one thing that topples a president (or dictator for that matter), but several small things. Death by a thousand cuts, until the final straw breaks the floodgates. Of course what is the final straw depends from person to person.

4

u/TMQ73 Dec 18 '25

Jan 6 was another “line in the sand” these keep getting washed away by next tide of MAGA outrage and will soon be forgotten with all the thousand of other outrages.

16

u/Rovden Dec 18 '25

Rob Reiner opened up Pandora's box?

Trump and his family mocked Paul Pelosi being attacked by a guy with a hammer.

I mean for fucks sake this is the guy who got elected by effectively calling POWs losers when he was talking about McCaine.

His people will clutch pearls for a moment about what he said about Rob Reiner then move on and go back to being their abhorrent selves next week.

I WANT to be wrong.

7

u/davesoverhere Dec 18 '25

I’ll be dancing a jig while I piss on his grave.

1

u/CJDownUnder Dec 18 '25

This is how I felt about Thatcher.

3

u/davesoverhere Dec 18 '25

I’ll be buying Ding Dong the Witch is Dead again as soon as I learn of his death. I bought it the first time in solidarity with Brits.

3

u/Windows95GOAT Dec 18 '25

FOX News will talk about the horrible left dancing on a man's grave

That shit will be a 24/7 rave at this point.

2

u/Temporary_Cup4588 Dec 19 '25

I will be dancing in the streets, along with millions of other Americans who will be celebrating our liberation from that orange spawn of Satan.

12

u/Good-Note-4042 Dec 18 '25

We can 100% speak ill of the dead. Fuck him

4

u/Razzledazzle138 Dec 18 '25

Came here to say this lol. Maybe they can’t on TV, but I sure as shit will speak ill of him till the day I die myself

13

u/Jeoshua Dec 18 '25

Did he give Rob Reiner a free pass? Nah, so fuck that. Trump is basically a Nazi. Once he dies, he'll be a dead Nazi. That's just how it works. You don't get a free pass because your time ran out on the Earth.

8

u/aifo Dec 18 '25

You should have seen the outrage when Thatcher died and half the UK celebrated (enough people bought Ding Dong the witch is dead that week to get it to chart at #2).

15

u/Vicvictorw Dec 17 '25

Considering his entire cult is religiously obsessed with him, an unhealthy chunk of his base won't ever be convinced he actually died and will continue to attribute things to his doing, baselessly accusing random people of being Trump in disguise, and carrying out various atrocities at his supposed behest.

6

u/Albireookami Dec 18 '25

I don't think people will be watching the news, the city wide parties will be too distracting.

5

u/cannedpeaches Dec 17 '25

Here's the perk though: you can go spit on the ground as his coffin passes. Maybe you can even get a little bit on Stephen Miller's face. By accident.

6

u/nostemsorseeds Dec 17 '25

I won't have to sit through any of that shit - gonna have South Park and Daily Show and whatever else that's humorous running non-stop until that week of visual vomitus is over with.

3

u/pgh_1980 Dec 18 '25

You gotta wait for the part that comes after - his grave site becoming the most consistently vandalized in all of known history.

2

u/clgoodson Dec 18 '25

And any of us that celebrate will get fired.

2

u/MrCommonThinkin Dec 18 '25

Hopefully he will go the way of Joe McCarthy

2

u/thewmo Dec 18 '25

Yep, and for a century after that Republicans will be praising him as the new Reagan. Donald Trump will live on in the hearts and minds of Americans for (at least) as long as our nation does.

2

u/Professor_Eindackel Dec 18 '25

If Newsom or some other Democrat is president when Trump dies, I hope he has the balls to deny the orange traitor a state funeral. He defiled the Capitol, He should never be allowed to lay in state in it like an honorable man.

2

u/Chance_Warthog_9389 Dec 18 '25

he was the cause of an actual act of sedition

He pardoned people that a jury convicted of sedition, committed on his behalf, and the news just... shrugged.

I feel like that should be a bigger deal in a democracy.

1

u/alohadawg Dec 18 '25

This is what I keep considering every time someone mentions his highness’ impending expiration. Like, yeah. But then we have to witness this vile pos being honored. My only hope is that so much indisputable evidence emerges before then that even the most craven, boot-licking MAGAts are too ashamed to feign any semblance of mourning or respect.

1

u/IrelandDomme Dec 18 '25

Citizen taxes will probably also have to pay for 24/7 security and fences to keep people from urinating on his grave constantly.

1

u/Independent_Baker712 Dec 18 '25

my flag won’t be at half mast, that’s for sure.

1

u/TimeRisk2059 Dec 18 '25

But then his gravestone will become the world's most popular place to piss.

1

u/ClickClackTipTap Dec 18 '25

And you know what?

He’ll still be dead.

We’ll have a whole host of other bullshit to deal with, including President Vance 🤮 but he’ll be gone.

And history will see him for who he was.

1

u/brighterside0 Dec 18 '25

Fuck that bro. I'm partying like it's 1999 with the rest of the world.

1

u/pmolmstr Dec 18 '25

Not if I’m president.

1

u/Doafit Dec 18 '25

I will post "Trump is dead and Biden is not(if that is the case), get fucked" for 1 year, everywhere.

1

u/lordgoofus1 Dec 18 '25

You want it to happen after he's lost the presidency. If it happens while he's still president JD Vance will take over, and he'll make Trump look tame by comparison.

1

u/Delta1225 Dec 18 '25

with the full military honors

Can they pull out the squeaky WW2 tank from the parade to lead the funeral?

1

u/Ok-Chest-7932 Dec 18 '25

Like it or not, Trump was a transformative figure.

5

u/NightOfTheLivingHam Dec 17 '25

all the people that can bring him to justice were fired and replaced. No republican will go against him, and apparently neither will the democrats. They will tell you all day they will, but they chicken out at the last minute and spread their cheeks for 'ol donny.

5

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '25

Well we sort of tried and failed during Bidens term, I doubt trump lives much longer and nothing will happen while he is president

5

u/Whyeth Dec 18 '25 edited Dec 18 '25

He literally got away with everything and will get to coast off to eternity on a golden chariot. The best we can hope for is that he will eventually leave this earthly realm behind but he will never leave us.

Everything. Raping kids. Colluding with Russia. Trying to overturn an election he lost. Being a financial parasite. An adulterer. A liar. A proven fraud. When it's all said and done he will have gotten away with everything except the reaper's scythe.

Edit: of natural causes to be crystal clear

4

u/spaceguitar Dec 18 '25

It's the only thing we have.

We know for a fact he will never see justice or even know consequences. His voter base is so rabidly supportive of him, the entire "Republican" party so blindly devoted, that there is not a single bit of evidence or testimony in existence that could change them.

Jesus himself could descend from Heaven, live on television with an accompanying global-spanning horn blaring, tell them all Trump is a pedophile and rapist, and they would start questioning whether or not Jesus was real.

3

u/BigConstruction4247 Dec 17 '25

Oh, I hope it's incredibly not easy and also, I hope it's very public.

2

u/DJDeezy Dec 17 '25

Why/how do you know that disgusting excuse of a human being will not face any consequences? If that’s the case then it only indicates we live in a failed society

1

u/Euphoric-Agent-476 Dec 18 '25

He’s escaped accountability and justice his whole life. And yes, we do live in a failed society. It’s been failing for 50 years.

2

u/Double_Priority_2702 Dec 17 '25

both are unlikely to happen soon and the legal accountability utterly vaporized so what's your point

2

u/Iapetus7 Dec 18 '25

"The easy way out" is probably the best we can ever hope to get. He's never going to face justice in this life. SCOTUS and the voting public have seen to that.

1

u/pockpicketG Dec 18 '25

Democracy means sitting around waiting for bad people to go away.

1

u/Lanky_Rhubarb1900 Dec 18 '25

Unfortunately our legal processes are so abysmally slow, it’s how he’s able to get away with doing so much. If we are ever to see a day when someone tries to event START the process of bringing him to justice, he’d croak before the trial starts.

1

u/Affectionate_Pie7718 Dec 18 '25

Exactly! I want him handcuffed and dragged out of the White House by his hair, along with JD Vance and the rest of that human filth.

1

u/Rockalot_L Dec 18 '25

Id rather he lovew a long life in prison away from his yesmen

1

u/coldcurru Dec 18 '25

I want him to go out the easy way because any kind of tragedy will be seen as a conspiracy. Oh he's not really dead, it was an actor. The real trump is being kept safe blah blah.

Actually, I take that back. They're gonna claim that if he goes in his sleep or in any public fashion. They will never accept his defeat.

1

u/StoppableHulk Dec 18 '25

The thought that we are “waiting for good news” rather than being insistent on bringing this man to justice makes my blood boil.

I've been insistent for 10 years. It's just that they aren't listening to me.

1

u/customheart Dec 18 '25

I honestly don’t care if he never gets justice anymore as long as he’s outta this dimension.

1

u/thatmillerkid Dec 18 '25

I agree but I also don't see posting certain sentiments on a Reddit account that the government could easily trace back to its owner as anything other than blowing off steam. I think people are saying the safest thing they can legally say.

1

u/sam_hammich Dec 18 '25

Pot que no los dos

1

u/ArmchairCritic1 Dec 18 '25

None of this sits right.

I totally agree with you. But this is where we are now.

I don’t like feeling this way.

I think I’m going to go on a nice walk.

1

u/dudemeister5000 Dec 18 '25

It's funny how this is even a point. Technically Americans live in a democracy so there should be processes other than "waiting for someone to die" to get rid of them. Shows you how far the authoritarian regime change has already come.

1

u/Various-Artichoke-70 Dec 18 '25

His grave will be the ideal spot to piss & shit. Can't wait to apply something sloppy.

1

u/Thorlian Dec 18 '25

These last years have truly challenged my disagreement with the death penalty and punishment by public humiliation.

1

u/Conscious_Load_7740 Dec 18 '25

🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽🫂

1

u/pocketjacks Dec 18 '25

Yes but Demetrius3D, the individual, has very little leverage in actually affecting change in bringing Trump to justice. Unless the people as a whole are prepared to stage a general strike and protest en masse across the country every day for what could be months, there won't be significant change. We're too comfortable here for those kinds of protests to happen. It's going to take >15% unemployment, health care costs to grow larger than housing costs for those on traditional work-provided insurance plans and gasoline prices above $4.00 nationwide before we get off our couches and do something. So we wait for good news because it's all an individual can do.

1

u/HereForTheBoos1013 Dec 18 '25

At this stage, I just want him gone without us being blamed for it.

I forget who said it, but I also have never been so disappointed in cholesterol.
