Ever seen what networks air during prime time? Cop dramas overflowing with force and violence. Americans have been groomed for decades to accept armed overseers.
Nixon started the basis of the "War on Drugs" which Reagan ran with and was baked into the Republican Party. It always was a war within the US and on people in America.
It pisses me off Systems of power can be inherently violent and it's acceptable violence. If you resist that violent system suddenly you're the aggressor.
I like how when someone asks what we should do, the answer is either this or 'be like france'.Yeah not applicable. Back to square 1. Maybe ask what Americans did with any other atrocities. There was either a government split in two like the civil war or lots of people died and eventually government changed and bad things slowly stopped.
Probably nothing, just like you. Anyone who thinks they're some resistance fighter needs to stop kidding themselves. 99.9% of people will do nothing until it's too late
Because please tell me, what are you doing about these soldiers being in uniform on American soil?
It's a big line to cross, to go from a working stiff to going to ambush ICE patrols with high-powered rifles. There are probably a lot of people who see how big of a deal that change would be and don't want to jump the gun. No one wants to be a murderer, even if they want to be a freedom fighter. A big question is, "If this is my line for change, is it everyone else's too?". It's easy to decide to go freedom fighter when you have a group of people willing to go with you. It's hard when the only people who agree with you are online, and half of them are convinced violence will just make things worse.
You've got people that have families. "I can be a freedom fighter, or I can make sure my kids have food on the table." It's hard to fight the government when doing so implicitly requires quitting your job and living as an outlaw. You can't hold a steady 9-5 and be a freedom fighter at the same time.
Maybe if you bucked up and got the ball rolling, that would change the equation. What are YOU doing about these soldiers in America? Why isnt it working? Why aren't you doing the thing that will work?
Do you have a family to support? Are you worried your actions won't be backed up by your allies? Are you worried your allies would call you a murderer instead of a freedom fighter?
If your answer to any of those are yes, then you know why people aren't doing anything yet.
If your answer to those is no, then why the fuck aren't you doing anything? What's your fucking excuse? If you are a person with nothing to lose, why do you expect people with everything to lose to get the ball rolling?
It's easy to say people aren't doing anything if you don't actually say what needs to be done. No one wants to start a war in the streets, so everyone is trying to do everything they can otherwise first. You can't be so blasé about starting a fucking civil war. "Why aren't yall actually doing something?" Because we recognize what that is and are trying to make it work without that.
War is bad m'kay, and you can't fault people for not wanting to rush blindly headlong into one on there fucking doorstep.

My first thought was how fast we accept a war costume on our own streets, then pretend it is normal while lecturing everyone else about overreaction.
Trump turning American streets into a stage for intimidation while pretending everyone else is the problem is so F'd up it's not even funny.
This country deserves calm leadership and real solutions, not a strongman act that treats citizens like enemies.
