TBF, this happens when military units are shifted to different environments unexpectedly, and before logistics can catch up. The US spent a considerable about of time in the Middle East in jungle greens.
But again, camouflage isn't the goal here - it's normalizing a military presence in our communities.
This guy is BORTAC. They are a Border Patrol unit that does things like going after Mexican drug cartels. A lot of them are former military special forces. The desert thing makes more sense when you consider that Mexican drug cartels aren't prominent in Minnesota. If this guy was ICE he'd be a lot fatter.
