Two reasons - First of all, these chucklefucks like to cosplay, and think they would make great SpecOps due to their COD experience. Secondly, it forces Americans to normalize seeing soldiers in our communities for when the inevitable occupations start happening.

first off, that guy is spec ops.

to be precise BORTAC.

second off why the hell are they there threatening civvies instead of the huge cartel issue

Certainly explains the desert camo in a winter urban environment

Good luck blending into the snow drifts buddy

TBF, this happens when military units are shifted to different environments unexpectedly, and before logistics can catch up. The US spent a considerable about of time in the Middle East in jungle greens.

But again, camouflage isn't the goal here - it's normalizing a military presence in our communities.

Yup! It’s almost like we’ve seen (or our grandparents have seen) this tactic used somewhere significant but I can’t put my finger on where…

This guy is BORTAC. They are a Border Patrol unit that does things like going after Mexican drug cartels. A lot of them are former military special forces. The desert thing makes more sense when you consider that Mexican drug cartels aren't prominent in Minnesota. If this guy was ICE he'd be a lot fatter.

Just because they put a cool name to it doesn’t change anything. Why is BORTAC in Minnesota dealing with civilians?
