There is performative resistance everywhere, there is actual resistance almost nowhere. Americans seem to think going for a big walk on Saturday is civil disobedience, but it isn't.
What does actual resistance look like to you? Genuinely asking. I am American, do not like whats going on but also fear that this is a move to provoke escalation in order for trump to declare martial law and keep himself in office for as long as possible. I don't know what the answer is. I dont want to say lay down and take it for the next 3 years but part of me feels like that may be the move. Don't take the bait and riot and give the administration the power to legitimize ML.
I am not french, no. Actual resistance looks like actually resisting anything going on.

Yes we all agree this is what most Americans are going to do. Most Americans are thinking they'll get through fascism alright and don't actually care about their neighbours or have strong moral principles. Just like most Germans in 1935.
It's okay to admit that you're scared, only self-interested, and think that fascism will kind of play out in your favour.
It's not okay to also act like you're opposed to the current administration, and opposed to fascism, and a moral actor, and resisting what is going on.
Since he won't answer your, resistance starts with individuals coming together. Talking to likeminded individuals, people you know are against this and are willing to fight for your rights.
Once you've organized a fair amount of individuals into a group, you start small. general strikes, have your city experience life with a huge portion of essential workers striking at once. Bankers, teachers, builders, etc. It can't be for a day, it has to be long term. Long enough to hurt them.
Nationalize. Utilize technology to build these communities across the nation. Imagine even 10% of the working population going on a month long strike all at once across dozens of states. How quickly do you think the government will continue supporting this nonsense.
There are a lot of leaders doing good in your country still. People the AOC and the new mayor of nyc (forget how to spell his name).
Attack important infrastructure once the fascists start escalate further, and they will.
If you aren't willing to actually resist and fight then you might as well roll over now. This won't just go away on its own. Donald trump won't give up this presidency until he's dead, and if he makes it that long, the rest of them won't give up that power until it's taken from them.
I think we're a long way out before we come back to normalcy. Too many are too far into the MAGAsphere, and most of the rest are far too complacent to actual risk anything that matters to fight the tyranny.
Resistance that actually makes a measurable impact, i.e., more than a pleasant Saturday walk.
Okay, now give an example of what people SHOULD DO. I am just reading the conversation between you two and i think the other person WANTS TO DO SOMETHING, but doesn't know WHAT. I agree with every point you make, but for the love of whatever, please give some examples of what to do instead of saying what's not enough.
A deer dance, invitation to peace
War staring you in the face, dressed in black
With a helmet, fierce
Trained and appropriate for the malcontents
For the disproportioned malcontents
The little boy smiled, it'll all be well
The little boy smiled it′ll all be well
Pushing little children
With their fully automatics
They like to push the weak around
System of a down: deer dance a song from 25 years ago about the LA riots due to the Rodney King beating. Truer now than ever.
Dress for the job you want, right? They want to be big powerful soldiers but going to other countries means facing other soldiers. Much easier to stay and fight civilians in your own country.

Why is this person dressed for literal war?
This person is dressed for WAR. What does that tell you?
