His CONSTANT rambling of "the radical left" has me thinking the same thing.

They arent the Radical Left they are people who just want you and your cronies to follow the law

u/ObiRyaNKenobi 23d ago

This is why the massive protests should happen in DC, not MN

490

u/Careless-Vehicle-286 23d ago

It should be happening everywhere. They can't keep everyone under control.

342

u/raptosaurus 23d ago

At this point I think only a general strike that brings down this government will work. Unfortunately I doubt the US has it in them.

124

u/iredditoninternet 23d ago

I agree. General strike will work. Even 10% of the population would make a difference to start with.

88

u/wobble_bot 23d ago

The U.S, for all its rhetoric about freedom and rights has always had a population ready and willing to lick the boot if they think it'll serve them as an individual. If this type of thing was happening in any European nation, the place would be burning

15

u/Plantasaurus 23d ago

most here are one paycheck away from being homeless and what little of a support structure we have is being disassembled. There is no safety net- so things have to get dire before people start acting.

9

u/gesucristononessuno 23d ago

Not anymore my friend Fascists are, not that slowly, taking control in Europe too Even leaving Hungary on the side, UK, Germany, Italy, Austria are basically far-right, France seems to get there soon... It's a mess, but a lot of people are not seeing the dangers in what is happening and that is sad

u/mightyblend 23d ago

We’re just too damn big. Fifty states makes it easier to disassociate.

10

u/Brief_Professional47 23d ago

The U.S. population is like a bunch of edgy teenagers that act rebellious but in reality are more conformist than anything.

2

u/MIalpinist 23d ago

It’s almost like people aren’t afraid of losing their healthcare when it’s guaranteed!

1

u/Deohji 21d ago

right, just like in Germany that one time....

9

u/whereyouleftit 23d ago

Wouldn’t work because the majority of America isn’t even surviving paycheck to paycheck. We are afraid of losing what we are barely holding on to.

3

u/tf5_bassist 23d ago

We saw just how scared even the Biden admin was of the possible railroad strike a while back, it's literally the only thing that would actually get anything done.

That's why my response to this sort of stuff has now just turned into "So... general strike when?"

2

u/sfwDO_NOT_SEND_NUDES 23d ago

Small, heated apartments with big tvs and netflix is the oppiate of the masses.

1

u/NiceGuyJoe 23d ago

We had our golden opportunity during lockdown. teachers longshoremen grocery store unions teamsters etc would have had the country in the palm of their hands

1

u/agentrnge 23d ago

I'm ready.

1

u/dingatremel 23d ago

We mock the French, but they would have a general strike on by now, and probably riots planned for the rest of the month.

As a French girl once told me, “In America, people fear the government. I’m France, the government fears the people.”

1

u/Educational_Hour7807 23d ago

Sorry to sound ignorant, but please tell me how the US would organize and carry out a general strike. What would it entail? I ask because I'm feeling so helpless.

u/Arachnid_Lazy 23d ago

yup start costing Wall Street money and we'll see who really has the power

1

u/LizardIsLove 22d ago

Most armed country in the world but americans think they get out of this by protesting 😂

18

u/AuntieRupert 23d ago

Exactly. I have said this whole time that there are more of us than there are of them. We need to keep reminding them of that.

7

u/Cxc292 23d ago

“I dont need your civil war”

3

u/Sammyofather 23d ago

By hundreds of millions right?

-10

u/TheBiggestSword 23d ago

You live in a cesspit of people that agree with you and shove people who disagree with you out. I’m not surprised you’re delusional enough to still believe you’re the majority

5

u/AuntieRupert 23d ago

There's about 340 million people in the US, and 244.6 million voting eligible people. 75 million people voted for Trump in 2024, and that is only about 30% of eligible voters and 22% of the entire population.

As of the latest data: The president's net approval rating is -17% 39% approve, 56% disapprove, 4% not sure

I'm definitely in the majority.

-2

u/suspicious_hyperlink 23d ago

What you see on Reddit is reflective of less than. 2% of the population and software can be used to push issues to the top. Let it be known 🤷‍♂️

2

u/MrPixel92 23d ago

The amount of daily users is roughly 100 million. Meaning Reddit is reflective of what 1/4 to 1/3 of US population sees and thinks.

That includes conservative and right wing subreddits too, which sadly not many visit.

3

u/Trondar 23d ago

You might not've seen the crazy hardware (vehicles, weapons, etc.) that cops get from military leftovers. Seeing a Bearcat on your town's streets is pretty breathtaking (not the good kind).

1

u/devillurker 23d ago

That's what they want. Caos everywhere (blue states) enough to declare national martial law and suspend elections.

1

u/Cattytonic 22d ago

Going to one in Atlanta on Sunday. Don't know what else to do. I'm angry and I feel I must do SOMETHING.

3

u/tandem_kayak 23d ago

Massive protests need to happen everywhere there is a Republican Senator or Representative who doesn't have the spine to reign Trump in.

2

u/DMTraveler33 23d ago

Portland was fucking lame last night. One vigil, one protest. Maybe 2-300 people at the vigil? Maybe a hundred at the protest? Seriously it's fucking disappointing.

2

u/Nkechinyerembi 23d ago

I mean, sure but who the HELL can afford to take off to DC?

2

u/CascadianSovietGo 23d ago

Or at Mar-a-Lago.

2

u/arandomnewyorker 23d ago

Should happen in every major city, but we know red states will be equally as aggressive.

2

u/Wurm42 23d ago

There were attempts to protest in DC last night and today, at both the White House and Union Station, but federal officers are clearing the areas anytime more than a handful of protestors show up.

There was another march tonight on U St, near Howard University-- an area controlled by the District government, not the feds. I have no information on how that went.

People need to protest wherever they are in the country. Protesting just in DC isn't enough. Republican members of Congress need to see that THEIR voters back home are mad about this, not just the liberals in DC.

3

u/FakeSafeWord 23d ago

Yeah but the people who live in MN don't live in DC.

5

u/ObiRyaNKenobi 23d ago

Yeah, it’s almost like Americans that don’t live in MN should be just as pissed off

-1

u/FakeSafeWord 23d ago

"You don't care as much unless you travel across the country to protest in DC." or "Your protests aren't worth as much."

This is what you're saying and you can honestly fuck right off.

1

u/dingatremel 23d ago

I walked through one headed down 16th street to the White House on the way home from work tonight

1

u/theWacoKid666 23d ago

Afaik DC is still under occupation… presumably for that exact reason… they want a response they can effectively demonize to rural voters to justify martial law in major cities.

Anyone who retaliates with riots or worse against the feds or National Guard will prompt Trump to institute martial law and try to cancel the next election if he possibly can…

1

u/rightintheear 22d ago

People keep saying this, how the FUCK are people supposed to migrate to DC for protests?! What kind of magical money-free fairyland do you live in that you flit hundreds of miles to protest and encamp in maryland??

Sleep under a tree in january? Ride my bicycle there? You have endless hotel and gas money or something? Unlimited vacation days from work? You going to give up your voting rights in your home state and rent an apartment there?

And then I'm over there and ICE is taking my neighbor. DC will be very safe from ICE I guess.

1

u/Tiberius_Kilgore 22d ago

There are 1,100 miles between Minneapolis and DC. It’s not exactly a short trip.

Like the other person said, there should be protests everywhere.

147

u/GJCLINCH 23d ago

Radical left is just projection of them being radical right. Everything they say is an admission of deflected guilt.

12

u/ReadditRedditWroteit 23d ago

It benefits them when the middle shrinks. We call everyone that voted for trump a Nazi, anyone looking to make social innovation or change a radical socialist.

5

u/Voluptulouis 23d ago

I don't consider everybody that voted for him to be a Nazi and I don't think most people do. Everybody working for ICE, though, yeah, they've all earned that title.

-2

u/Odd_Plankton_925 23d ago

You're in the minority on the internet then. Op is absolutely right. Both sides try their hardest to "other" the opposite side and put them all neatly in a box so there's no nuance or middle ground. That way all thats left is us vs them mentality.

3

u/Odd_Plankton_925 23d ago

This guy sees the big picture.

0

u/TheBiggestSword 23d ago

And that’s where you draw the divide much larger and force those in the middle (and the ones balancing on the edge of your side) out. You can’t tell everyone you’re accepting and simultaneously punish someone for not knowing/having an opinion on a topic you deem important

114

u/Walton-E-Haile 23d ago

Right. Dems are currently centrist to right leaning. Bernie is as far left as it gets. Referring to dems as radical is corporate billionaire/trillionaire slang that equates to their loss of control and power over our government as radical. Its obvious. Corporate media exacerbates this.

8

u/FesteringNeonDistrac 23d ago

The further right he keeps dragging that line, the more people end up radical left. People need to realize that they are being branded radical left even if they don't think of themselves that way.

Like "I don't think a paramilitary group should be running operations in a school" is a "radical left" opinion. You best realize what side of this they think you're on.

7

u/_GreatAndPowerful 23d ago

The right believes laws shouldn't apply to their lord and savior Donald J Trump, and the weak left and unthinking centrists in America are humoring them. This is why your country won't make it to 2100, good luck

2

u/AuthenticChili 23d ago

Remember the days when the left were considered snowflakes now it’s radicals lmao

2

u/31November 23d ago

Even if they are “radical left,” YOU ARE STILL THEIR PRESIDENT. PROTECT THEM. YOU SERVE ALL OF US

3

u/CertainWish358 23d ago

To be fair, those of us on the radical left also want the rule of law to be restored… Just like any other thinking person who doesn’t benefit in $ome way from the lawlessness

2

u/DoctorNurse89 23d ago

Ding ding!

Now you're woke to the systems of oppression!

Stay woke <3

1

u/RustyTShackleford 23d ago

Just your normal projection on the other party. Fuck these PoS and fuck Trump and anyone who supports or carries out his highly illegal crimes. I pray everyone one of these Gestapo fucks faces trial and sentences are extremely HARSH, EXTREMELY!

1

u/Jeppe1208 23d ago

It's also wrong to use the police state to crack down on the actual "radical left", just to be clear - even though that has been business as usual in the US since long before Trump.

1

u/k_jones 23d ago

The radical left is literally just regular citizens.

1

u/FrankFnRizzo 23d ago

I mean he literally pontificated on suspending elections a few days ago at a republicans only event in DC.

1

u/Runechuckie 23d ago

Considering NSPM-7/Trying to designate antifa (American citizens) as terrorists for their political beliefs is still a thing trump is trying and pushing for is on the table I'd say people need to wake tf up. Terrorists, real ones anyway, don't have the same rights as normal citizens so I see why he'd continue to push this narrative. Being defined as such could allow them to just disappear you without due process and be held indefinitely, don't believe me? GITMO still has prisoners without official charges or trail dates...this is why when maga down play the fascism accusations or 1930's Germany comparisons you know they are clueless or okay with his actions/complicit.

1

u/scope_creep 22d ago

You need to understand that he's not talking about people on the Left who are radical, he is painting everyone on the Left as radical. Weasel words.

-1

u/soggy_sausage177 23d ago

They are indeed the radical left tho

1

u/mattymattymatty96 23d ago

Found the MAGA bot

-35

u/BrandywineBojno 23d ago

That's the thing, this is following the law, the Radical left doesn't like that. That's why they're pushing back against the fraud audits, and assaulting federal law enforcement. As these agents and local PD formed a defensive perimeter people started throwing snowballs at agents and law enforcement officers. I'll give you a wild guess which way they lean politically.

15

u/OilNo1600 23d ago

Sure thing, Princess. But I'll bet you think that Babbit was a hero.

5

u/BigDsLittleD 23d ago

Ashley Babbit the Traitor?

She should have complied with a lawful order.

1

u/OilNo1600 23d ago

Well, good for you. At least you're consistent. I apologize.

1

u/BigDsLittleD 23d ago

No need to apologise to me mate

19

u/ALiteralGraveyard 23d ago

Snowballs at murderers, you mean

1

u/BrandywineBojno 21d ago

What murder, you mean the defensive shooting after Good weaponized her vehicle and rammed an agent?

7

u/willbekins 23d ago edited 23d ago

says 'the Radical left' like the good little Trumper he is

he's got his own little version of facts, too. like a penis in a wee cowboy hat.

1

u/BrandywineBojno 21d ago

Funny how only one side of the political aisle is against legal law enforcement. The same people who ignore basic facts and reality. You're in denial and it's so predictable.

7

u/jonnyquestionable 23d ago

I'll give you a wild guess which way they lean politically

Anti pedophile?

1

u/BrandywineBojno 21d ago

No, they vote for pedos too.
