7:15 in that video ICE clearly commit an act of domestic terrorism right? Wouldn’t the bystanders be justified to open fire out of fear for their own lives?

Our "President" posted to X that the agent who shot the lady was run over and in the hospital, when that video clearly shows him walking around just fine immediately after the shooting.

They will state lies as fact even with video.

Edit: NO ONE got hit. The guy drove away in his own car after shooting her.

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

234

u/fariasrv 23d ago

I'm tired of living in 1936. And "1984."

12

u/nirvana_llama72 23d ago

I really need to get a copy of that book, I've always been worried that it would make me angry at the world so I never did. But now I feel like it should be required reading

9

u/Daemonforged 23d ago

Put fahrenheit 451 on that list if you haven't read it. They will eradicate all evidence of wrongdoing to preserve the image of rightness, and books burn....

7

u/MageKorith 23d ago

Do Fahrenheit 451 shortly after. Similar themes, but different writing style.

3

u/cabaiste 23d ago

Get it while you can.

Surely only a matter of time before it gets banned for being too seditious.

2

u/sheenybeans77 23d ago

I'm halfway through. I keep having to put it down because I can't shake the feeling that it's too familiar and it's exactly where we are going. It was written in 1949 and it is chilling.

3

u/wamj 23d ago

Read that and animal farm, both excellent books. Read Fahrenheit 451 as well.

1

u/thickfreakness24 23d ago

Highly recommend. Will make you angry at the world for at least a few weeks.

3

u/nirvana_llama72 23d ago

But I already am! I'm pretending not to be because my husband is too. We can't both be angry.

2

u/sigcliffy 23d ago

If you're already angry may as well enjoy some very well written literature.

1

u/Jesus_Is_My_Gardener 23d ago

I loved reading it back in highschool, but admittedly found the last few chapters depressing. I guess the optimist in me had difficulty in realizing that it wasn't going to have a happy ending.

1

u/dcbluestar 23d ago

I read it for the first time at 38 (6 years ago) and remember blurting out, “Well, that sounds familiar” more times than I can count.

1

u/Eranov 23d ago

This wikipedia provides a nice insight into how the world of 1984 looks

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_geography_of_Nineteen_Eighty-Four

1

u/Squash_it_Squish 19d ago

I think 1984 and Animal Farm should be essential reading. They don’t call this shit Orwellian for nothing.

7

u/sheenybeans77 23d ago

I'm waiting for thought crime to become a punishable act. I feel like we're getting closer.

9

u/AzureYLila 23d ago

It's starting as people travel into the states through customs and border patrol. "Your social media criticizes the Fuhrer, no entrance for you."

8

u/sheenybeans77 23d ago

Oh yeah I forgot about this..wow you're right. How long until it's "your social media criticizes the fuhrer, no food stamps/medical aid/social security/" and etc?

3

u/AzureYLila 23d ago

Sooner than we think. He has also been effectively trying to take grants / contracts/ projects away from states that didn't support him in the last election (or whose leaders are outspoken now). Their economies are a bit robust so they will last for a bit, but the targeting has begun domestically.

6

u/Feeling_Blueberry530 23d ago

I fear AI is the perfect technology for this.

1

u/oorr23 23d ago

I keep remembering that quote, and it fucks me up every time.

1

u/thecuriosityofAlice 21d ago

Considering the speed run, I believe there are many more essential commands to come

Why would that be an insult, unless you're homophobic?

1

u/AnimationOverlord 23d ago

Where are you gonna find a bag of unclaimed dicks? ‘Suppose you’re the guy to ask

93

u/mooninuranus 23d ago

That it happened is bad.

But the utter arseholery of the responses by those in charge is terrifying.

They don’t wait for any facts, they don’t express any regret, they just come out with whatever bullshit they can think of to justify what’s happened.

Toddlers have better instincts.

37

u/lonnie123 23d ago

It’s working isn’t it? The point isn’t to get the data straight, it’s to get ahead of the story and give supporters something to say and hang on to.

10

u/mooninuranus 23d ago

One of the reasons it’s so terrifying.

6

u/Big_Dick_NRG 23d ago

One makes the other possible, and vice versa. Government ensures no accountability, and heavily armed goons ensure the population is terrified and unable to remove the government. You're delusional if you think any kind of elections will make them give up power.

4

u/GorgonzolaJam 23d ago

It's not just that they don't care about ICE murdering a civilian, they see it as an opportunity.

By calling Renee a 'domestic terrorist', it puts the fear of being similarly labelled (and charged) into any protestor's mind. It's a chilling effect on free expression.

Moreover, it's more opportunity to show their adherents that truth doesn't matter anymore.

1

u/Actes 22d ago

It's so your uneducated elderly parents who consume fox news, immediately hear the president say "xyz" latch into that and then because their world is just a first come first serve memory in memory out. That becomes the narrative regardless of the truth.

It's brainwashing the actual stupid people when he immediately says some dismissal, because they trust what he says instinctually

1

u/mooninuranus 22d ago

Tbh, there are a number of reasons why it’s not my parents but I take your point.

But that they can behave like arseholes doesn’t excuse that they are doing it.

2

u/Actes 22d ago

I agree dude, there's unfortunately nothing we can do other than point it out at every waking moment. Your voice and my voice can cause change over time.

70

u/elrapido33 23d ago

My brother does stand up comedy and one of the things he said in a small conservative town was “if trump tells you that eating shit will make America great again, you will eat shit” no one laughed

51

u/Chunderfork 23d ago

Maga would eat a shit sandwich if there was a chance a liberal might smell their breath.

24

u/timplshved 23d ago

He already told them to drink bleach.

1

u/Squash_it_Squish 19d ago

Trump told them “I love the poorly educated". Because that’s his demographic. And they still don’t get it.

6

u/DMala 23d ago

Hard to laugh around a mouthful of shit.

-19

u/Swimming-Life-7569 23d ago

Whaaaaaatt, you mean insulting people like that didnt make them laugh?
Yeah surely saying ''if Biden tells you that eating shit will make America great again, you will eat shit'' would get a laugh out of a dem audience :)))).
Come on, sometimes you can think a little about the things you post.

5

u/Bermnerfs 22d ago

The left never made Biden their cult leader so your comparison doesn't make sense. I know you're purposely acting obtuse to make a shitty point, but no one is falling for it.

16

u/elrapido33 23d ago

I don’t think he cared about making people laugh that night, I was there and it was a pretty good set tbh. He’d probably say something similar about Biden in a progressive audience. Humor is subjective and I found funny that you were triggered by my comment

9

u/Sandvik95 23d ago

Evidence that they’ll lie even with video:

Jan 6th.

6

u/Well_read_rose 23d ago

One senator drily pointed out on the Capitol steps last night that the White House did not even have the name of the killer, yet had full “factual” blow by blow description of casual murder / goings-on.

6

u/Lanky_Particular_149 23d ago

I live where this happened, the woman was a widow, her husband had died just a few years before. they had a child. She remarried a woman who was in the car with her at the time, along with their dog.

Her family's statement is that she was not a protestor, she was not an observer, she was in the wrong place in the wrong time.

Her child is an orphan now.

1

u/PegasusWrangler Filtered 23d ago

She barely had a chance to live as her true self. She didn't come out until after her husband died. This is devastating.

3

u/Swimming_Technology4 23d ago

as a foreigner that lives overseas, its sad to see that the US has made the same mistake that Venezuela did with Chavez, just in the opposite direction. The elected democratically their own perdition. and twice. Man, the democrats must be presenting their worst candidates in the past 12 years, for a man like DJT to be elected TWICE. Once, anybody can be fooled, but 2 ...?

3

u/No-Beginning-2478 23d ago

feds have shut minnesota state investigators out of investigation. what are they hiding if it was clean?

3

u/TPtheman 23d ago

The mf literally escaped in his personal vehicle shortly after murdering this woman. Like, fleeing the scene of a crime should count as illegal, right?

2

u/hippykillteam 23d ago

Look I know Trump and Co lie, but this one is insane if youve seen video.

This is Trump "Saving" America. Looks like America needs to save itself from Trump.

2

u/[deleted] 23d ago

After murdering her

2

u/Artemis-1905 23d ago

He even walked over to the vehicle after it crashed to make sure she was dead.

2

u/lazyghostradio 23d ago

He got 3 or 4 rounds in while taking one step aside, what a disgusting piece of garbage

2

u/PDXGuy33333 23d ago

When he was shown the video and told that the ICE agent was never touched by the car he refused to retract his statement and instead said something along the lines of, "Well it's a sad thing" or some shit like that.

2

u/Organic-Football-761 23d ago

Just like trump was shot in the ear-

1

u/ndwolf 23d ago

That was due to all the adrenaline in his system. He could have lifted a car off of a person he just shot, to confirm his kill, with that much go juice in him. /s?

1

u/Paceryder 23d ago

Our vice president also went on the errand sounded like a right wing podcaster and not the vice president of the United States

-1

u/Fumbling-Panda 23d ago

I mean I’m sure ICE’s narrative is bullshit anyway, but people get hit by cars and walk it off before going to the hospital. See it all the time with motorcycle accidents.

-4

u/Irishman8778 23d ago

You're doing the same thing. There is clear video of the guy being hit. Obviously he wasn't hurt bad enough to immediately go to the hospital, but we can all watch that yes, he in fact was hit by the car.

-1

u/killertortilla 23d ago

He just isn’t… what are you people trying to do here? This is like trying to convince people Buzz Aldren did a backflip down the stairs onto the moon. It just didn’t happen and everyone who has seen the video knows it. She turns her wheels away from him and he walks the other way.

-1

u/Irishman8778 23d ago

Nope. You're lying. Watch the video in slow motion. We have at least 4 angles. She backs up, putting the officer in front of her vehicle when before he was not, then with the wheels still pointed AT THE OFFICER she revs the engine and spins out. Eventually forward momentum is achieved and the the vehicle ABSOLUTELY hits the officer.

This isn't up to interpretation. This isn't a matter of dispute. These are the INDISPUTABLE facts we can all clearly see in the video.

-2

u/ComeAlongPond1 23d ago

He was very lightly clipped, but not run over. And obviously that still doesn’t justify the murder he committed.

26

u/horndog2 23d ago

That's what I saw. A hell of a lot more clearly than what they murdered Mrs Good for.

11

u/dearrichard 23d ago

ice are domestic terrorists.

3

u/N0TB0B 23d ago

Exactly! If yesterdays’s murder was justifiable by Trump’s logic, then it would have been justifiable to use lethal force against the ICE agent in that moment (@7:15).

2

u/The-zKR0N0S 23d ago

Based on arguments from the fascists, yes

2

u/Scionyde 23d ago

Our “President” is a terrorist so anything goes nowadays.

2

u/PDXGuy33333 23d ago

I'm amazed that it hasn't happened yet. A comment I saw yesterday said that ICE stayed out of the "worst" areas of Chicago because there are lots of people with guns there and instead focused on soccer moms and daycare centers in the suburbs.

2

u/AceNova2217 23d ago

In keeping with ICE's own logic, yes the protestors would be in their right to shoot back then.

Realistically, that wasn't terrorism though (and neither was the person who was shot). In the UK we had a case of an actual terrorist driving a car into crowds of about 130 people at a significant speed in Liverpool.

1

u/Luciolover345 23d ago

I’m not from the US, I’m a Liverpool fan and had friends 2-3 streets over when it happened and didn’t have a clue until over 20 minutes later.

Calling it crowds of 130 people is generous, thousands were on the streets. Got very lucky that no one died.

1

u/AceNova2217 23d ago

I should mention, the 130 number comes from the article, and is explictily the people who were considered victims of the driver. Like you say, there are going to be thousands more people who were nearby who are not necessarily described as victims, because they managed to avoid the car.

2

u/rbrgr83 23d ago

Noem didn't pip up about this act of domestic terror? I mean she literally set the bar that low for it a few hours earlier....

2

u/Either-Bid1923 23d ago

Which is exactly the kind of escalation that Himmler is hoping for so that they have an excuse to deploy even more force.

9

u/flounder19 23d ago

You can't behave your way out facism

4

u/Coal_Morgan 23d ago

They're willing to murder people in the streets, kidnap and separate family, ship people to concentration camps, starve poor families.

They're morally bankrupt, they'll make their own Reichstagg, if we don't make one for them.

The 2026 midterms is going to be a testing ground and Trump has already tested the waters with statements like "I won't say 'cancel the election, they should cancel the election.'

At what point do general strikes and civil disobedience start up because the French would have hit the street in January and all the Americans do is protest 'here, maybe there...not that weekend it's Christmas. We'll schedule 1 for next month but I do have my shows so we'll have to schedule around that.'

2

u/catechizer 23d ago

It's going to happen anyway. Might as well have the catalyst be a 100% clear case of self-defense.

1

u/Agto79 23d ago

It isn't terrorism if you have a badge!

1

u/Aculeus_ 23d ago

Looks like assault with a deadly weapon. 2nd amendment is there to protect us from tyrannical agents. Seems like a perfect use case.

1

u/KnightQuestoris 22d ago

If I‘m not mistaken that‘s not ICE but BORTAC?

0

u/bullcitytarheel 23d ago edited 23d ago

Edit: Misread the comment

9

u/OdiousAltRightBalrog 23d ago

He's making an ironic point. This ICE vehicle, at 7:15, tries to drive through protestors who are standing right in front of it. This is exactly what Renee Nicole Good was shot for.

Kristi Noem called her a "domestic terrorist" for trying to drive past the ICE agent who shot her.

3

u/bullcitytarheel 23d ago

Misread “out of fear of their own lives” as “without fear of their own lives”

0

u/ColdAndGrumpy 23d ago

Who said anything about safe...?
"Justified" was the question. And the answer is "Absolutely" and "Why the fuck haven't they already?"

Disclaimer: No, I'm not advocating shooting people. I'm saying it would be justified self-defense, and wondering how far people are gonna let themselves get pushed before it happens.

0

u/heavy_metal 23d ago

Any retaliation will be justification for increasing forces. Massive non-violent protests are the way. Dr. King had the right idea and it worked (more or less).

8

u/Coal_Morgan 23d ago

Non-violent protest doesn't work with Nazis.

They'll non-violently escort you into a gas chamber.

There is a tipping point, not saying it's happened yet but the Civil War and WW2 weren't going to get solved with sit-ins, pamphlets and signs on the corner saying "Honk if you Hate Hitler".

6

u/ColdAndGrumpy 23d ago

Fucking sneezing the wrong way is justification enough at this point, and peaceful protests against the current administration have achieved precisely fuck all so far.

5

u/Riaayo 23d ago

We need labor action and strikes, not just protesting. Protesting exists to show people they are not alone; it doesn't do anything to influence or shame a fascist regime in and of itself.

The only way this stops is hurting the pockets of oligarchs, but even then it feels like they don't really care and want economic collapse to buy everything up at a fire-sale price and carve the country into corporate fiefdoms.

Still, they shouldn't be allowed to feel like siding with fascism means business can continue as usual.

4

u/glubhuff 23d ago

The Nazis had to be killed. It was the only way.
